Chapter 10: Making Friends/Enemies

Jenna: OMG! Your room is amazing!"
I giggle at her reaction.She isn't wrong, but I'm not ready to tell her about my life and how this shouldn't be mine.
Abril: What would you like to do today? I was hoping for a tour and maybe start meeting some people, but it might take me some time to unpack Jax's clothing."
Jenna: That's ok! He doesn't mind if it isn't done, he wants you to be happy."
Abril: No! I want to be a good mate and make sure he is OK. Plus, I don't want some random person doing it for him. I am his mate and can do it. Will you keep me company? You don't have to....."
Jenna: Of course! I want to get to know my sister. What do you like to do?"
Abril: Well....I do like to read, but that is really it. I wasn't allowed to do anything in my old pack."
I looked at my feet. I hope she didn't think less of me.
Jenna: Well I am very sorry that your pack is a bunch of D****! But we can find out what you like to do. There is a spare room. Maybe we can make that your space/office......We must go shopping."
Abril: Ummmmmm I don't know about that. I have no money, but I could find some work and maybe we can go shopping later?"
Jenna: Oh my, you are such a sweet girl. Jax has so much money and he doesn't know what to get you. He is more than welcome to come with us but you need a woman's touch. So that is it. We will even buy Jax new clothes. Come on! We will go talk to him."
Abril: Can I take a shower while you go and talk to him? I am really tired and want to rest. Could we go tomorrow? I kind of want to stick around here and meet some people. Get to know the pack and the land."
Jenna: Sure! I will talk with him and you go get settled."
She left quickly. I hope I didn't hurt her feelings. I finished putting everything away. Hopefully, in the correct spots. I go into the bathroom and I have no idea how any of this stuff works......guess I can ask Jax later? I walk to the front of the room and open the door, I can walk around and try to explore.
The hallway is really tall and kind of dark. I started walking in one direction because I could hear people talking. There is a stair case, so i start going and at the bottom there is a huge room with pool tables and games and a small kitchen with some snacks and drinks. Everyone, well 5 people (3 girls and 2 boys) all stop and stare at me.
Abril: Hello, sorry to disturb you, I am new and I am just trying to figure out where everything is at." I whispered.
The guys just give me a look and ignore me, but the girls all walk up to me and slap me in the face. I fell to the ground and I looked up at them.
Girl 1: HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO US! We are royalty here and you will never be allowed to speak with us you S***! Get out of here and stop trying to steal our boyfriends."
I slowly got up and I turned around to start walking out when someone grabbed my hair roughly and threw me at a different door.
Guy 1: STUPID WENCH! This is the servants' door! The only one you are allowed to use. I'm not sure how you got to the Alpha's floor, but don't do it again or I will punish you."
I opened the door and ran away before they could see my tears. I started walking, slowly rubbing my cheek. I can't believe they are so mean. Did I just trade one hell hole for another? I looked at my hand and sure enough there was blood. I rub my head too and see that I am bleeding there as well, but my hair hides it.
Angel: No sweet girl, I think they are just mean, but I don't get that feeling everyone is that way."
I keep walking, its really nice to be outside, the sun warming me up. I headed into a smaller building. There is a garden attached to it and it looks really cool. Maybe I can work here until I can go to school or something.
Older woman: Hi! My name is Olivia. How can I help you? OH MY! Are you OK? Who did this to you?!?!"
Abril: Ummmm hi.....I'm Abril and I'm new here. Would you need any help? I would like to work here while I am getting settled, if that is OK. I think your garden is amazing."
Olivia: Oh sweet girl! Of course! I would love your help, but what happened to your face? Let me grab you a washing cloth."
I started to rub my face and I smiled, she seemed so nice.
Abril: When/where should I start?"
Olivia: How about 2 days from now? You can explore more and maybe meet some friends. Be here at 5 am sharp"
Abril: sounds great, thank you again and I will be back in 2 days."
I left feeling so much better. Then I get this cold feeling in me. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I'm in trouble. Then I hear it, a roar! Its big and powerful, so it must be Jax. I guess I'm in it for now, but I also don't know how to get back.....
