Chapter 11: My Strong Mate

I fell to my knees in fear and buried my head in my hands. I just wait there, hoping that he will be easy on me. I didn't know about any rules, so I didn't think I broke any. It felt like forever but Jax finally found me and he is clearly pissed. I feel his alpha aura around me and it's really intimidating. I keep crying and I'm sure I'm a huge mess.
Abril: I'm sorry, I don't know what I did wrong, but I will never do it again! You can punish me however you want." I, shakily.
Jax kneels in front of me and wraps his arms around me.
Jax: My sweet girl, I'm not mad at you. I was worried. I couldn't find you and I had no way to reach you. I'm mad at myself for not thinking about this. I will get you a phone and you'll be able to mindlink me when you are officially a part of this pack. I'm sorry."
I froze and after a few moments I decided to trust his words and look at him. His eyes were full of concern. I hug him. I breathe in his scent - pine trees and fresh air. He growls a bit and I stare at him in horror.
Jax: What happened to you? You have hair missing and were bleeding. I can smell the blood."
He pulls me away from him so he can inspect for other damage. I completely forgot what happened this morning. I guess I should tell him.
Abril: Well, I wanted to take a tour of the land and meet people, so I started walking. When I got downstairs, those people were really mad. One girl slapped me really hard and I fell and hurt my wrists and she told me to leave. Then there, when I was, I guess I was using the wrong door because a guy grabbed my hair and threw me, into the wall, which is how I think I cracked some more ribs, and he told me that I can only use the servants' doors."
I looked at my knees and sighed, I had forgotten about that because I was excited about finding a job and make some money to go shopping with Jenna. Jax is fighting for control with his wolf. I'm not sure where I got the courage, but I wrap my arms around him and try to comfort him.
Abril: Its OK! I had forgotten about it until just now. I got some other news! I got a job!!"
Jax: WHAT?!?! You didn't need to get a job. I have more than enough money to get you whatever you need. I was searching for you to tell you that and that you and Jenna can go find and buy whatever it is you want and need."
Abril: I can't thank you enough for that, but this is more than about money. I want to contribute to the pack. I want to work as a doctor, which will take time while I go to school. I wanted a job so that I could contribute the entire time and possibly make some friends. I'm working over there."
I pointed to the garden.
Jax: I'm sorry. I guess I'm just mad about what happened to you. I think you are right and I support you. When do you start?"
Abril: 2 days from now."
Jax: Cool, we have time so I can give you a tour, then we can identify who harmed you and go talk to them."
He picks me up and starts walking in the direction of the pack house.
Abril: I can walk, I'm not broken."
Jax: This way I can keep you close. You don't know how long I've waited for you. I want to keep you close to me."
I stayed silent but I smiled at him. He is so sweet sometimes.
Angel: Our mate loves us. We have some more fights ahead of us, but we got this."
I nodded in agreement and she laid back down. I love my mate with each and every moment.
Abril: Hey, can we go for a run later? I think our wolves need some time together."
Jax: That's a great idea! Lets go after dinner."
We made it to this big room with lots of screens.
Jax: This is the security room, it has all the latest equipment. We have cameras around the property to help the wolves who are patrolling the grounds. We can look and see what happened to you hopefully."
He presses some keys and the screen goes into that room that morning.
Abril: That's them, the ones who attacked me. They never even asked for my name or who I was. Just some S*** that is trying to bag the Alpha."
He is frowning, maybe I shouldn't have said anything.
He looks at the guard, who nods and leaves the room. Jax is mind-linking someone.
Jax: I have summoned them to my office. Would you like to be there?"
I nodded. I'm scared but I need to know what happens in this pack.
