For a moment eh natahimik ako at nainis sa sinabi nya.
"Hoy Matteo hindi porke bahay mo ito eh pwede ka ng magsalita ng hindi maganda trungkol sa akin!" gigil na sabi ko.
"You'll see, Aurora. You won't last long in this world if you continue with that attitude," he warned.
"I'll take my chances. I'd rather be true to myself than pretend to be someone I'm not," I said, refusing to back down.
The tension between us was palpable, pero hindi ako nagpatalo kay Matteo.
As the night went on, our conversation became more strained, each trying to outdo the other in our display of pride and stubbornness.
I glared at Matteo, refusing to be belittled by his condescending remark.
"Is that what you think? Just because I come from a wealthy family, you assume I'm some spoiled brat?" I shot back.
"Bakit hindi ba? Tingnan mo nga kung paano ka umasta lalo na noong una tayong magkita? Kung paano mo pagsalitaan ang mga tauhan ko," he replied, crossing his arms in a defensive stance.
"You have no idea what I've been through or what I've had to prove to my parents," I retorted, feeling my anger rise.
"Oh, I'm sure it's a real struggle living the high life," he said sarcastically.
"You know nothing about me or my life. Don't judge me based on your preconceived notions," I said firmly, refusing to let him get under my skin.
"I've seen enough rich kids like you know how you operate," he said dismissively.
"And I've seen enough arrogant jerks like you to know not to waste my time," I shot back, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
We stood there, glaring at each other, our tension reaching its peak.
"I don't need your approval or acceptance, Matteo. I have my own identity, and I won't let anyone define me," inis na sabi ko.
"Fine, have it your way. But don't expect me to be your friend just because we're stuck in the same place," he said, turning away.
"Mas lalo naman ako. Ayaw kitang maging friend," I mumbled, more to myself than to him.
Matteo's POV
I was giving Aurora a tour of her room when she commented sarcastically about it as if belittling my efforts.
She didn't even bother to thank me for all the trouble I went through.
She had no gratitude at all.
If she weren't the daughter of Papa's friend, I would have thrown her out of the villa, no matter how beautiful she looked.
She might be attractive, but her attitude is just awful.
I decided to leave her be, fearing I might throw her out of the gate.
"Where are your servants? Why don't I see a single soul here?" she asked with a snappy tone.
"They know how to rest after work," I replied coldly.
"Call them; I want to have a sandwich and fresh juice," she demanded, still haughty.
"Just have it delivered to my room; I need to rest," she added bago pa ito pumasok sa kuwarto nito
Nagulat ako sa inasta nito.
I knew she could be bossy, but I didn't expect her to be this demanding.
Sumakit ang ulo ko sa inasta nito kaya tinawag ko nalang ang katulong to prepare her some food dahil ayokong sabihin ng magulang nito na ginugutom ko ang pinakamamahal nilang prinsesa.
I instructed the maid to deliver the sandwich and juice to Aurora's room, hoping to avoid unpleasant interactions with her.
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"Eh Sir nagalit po si Maam kasi hindi daw masarap ang pagkain. Pinagalitan po ako at tinapon ang tinapay sa akin," sumbong ng katulong habang umiiyak.
I sighed, not surprised by Aurora's behaviour.
"I'm sorry about that. Aurora can be quite difficult sometimes."
As the maid left, I couldn't help but feel frustrated with Aurora's attitude. It would be challenging to deal with her during her stay.
The next day, I confronted Aurora about her behaviour towards the maid. I knocked on her bedroom door to keep my frustration in check.
"Come in," she said in a dismissive tone.
I entered the room, trying to maintain a calm demeanour.
"Aurora, we need to talk about something."
"What is it now?" she asked, looking annoyed.
"I spoke to the maid who delivered your food yesterday, and she mentioned that you were quite rude to her. That's not acceptable, Aurora," mariing sabi ko.
She rolled her eyes, clearly uninterested in my lecture.
"Oh please, it's not a big deal. She is just a maid."
"That's not the point," I snapped.
"Everyone in this house deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their position. Your behaviour was unacceptable, and I won't tolerate it."
Aurora scoffed. "Fine, whatever. I'll try to be nice to her if it makes you happy."
"It's not just about making me happy. It's about basic decency and respect for others," I replied, trying to get through to Aurora.
"Look, hindi ako pumunta dito para makinig ng sermon mo okay? At huwag mo akong kontrolin sa kung ano ang dapat kung gawin!" Aurora retorted.
"I'm not trying to control you, but you are a guest in my home, and I expect you to show some gratitude and respect. If you can't do that, maybe you should find somewhere else to stay," I said, my patience thin.
Her eyes narrowed, and she glared at me. "At sa tingin mo gusto kong tumira dito?! Uuwi na ako kung ayaw mo ko dito madali akong kausap!" galit na sagot nito habang kinukuha ang maleta nito at nag-emapake.
"What are you doing?!" pigil hiningang tanong ko.
"Ano pa sa tingin mo eh di aalis! Hoy Matteo! kasinlaki ng bahay mo ang bahay namin kaya huwag kang umasta dyan na parang pinagsisiksikan ko ang sarili ko dito!" sigaw na sabi ni Aurora sa akin.
Wala na akong nagawa kundi huminga nalang ng malalim para hindi na lumaki ang gulo.
As I left her room, I couldn't help but feel exasperated by Aurora's stubbornness.
"Hey, can we talk? I need to address something with you," I said, my tone laced with annoyance.
"What's your problem now?" she snapped back, irritated at being interrupted.
"My problem is your attitude towards the staff. Housekeepers are not your slaves, you know," I retorted, not mincing my words.
"They're here to serve, right? So what's the big deal?" she replied, her arrogance on display.
