Chapter 2

"He's coming." Xiao hui said as She read the message on f*******: that Marek had sent her. They had been chatting this whole time he had planned his trip and She had told him, infact insisted that he will sleep at her place and not use a hotel.

"Okay," Emerald answered showing no sign of interest. Her mind was all over the place. She had enough to worry about without worrying about her friend's ex boyfriend, friend, lover, bodyguard, whatever he was.

"C'mon Gal, you'll have fun. You guys will be sharing this apartment and as far as I remember him, he's quite a nice guy, and don't forget handsome." She wiggled her eyebrows making Emerald forge a laugh.

"Okay, We'll see." Emerald replied to get Xiao hui off her back and went back to looking at her phone.

Xiao hui was Emerald's new friend, not really a roomate because Xiao hui had another house with her boyfriend where they both stayed. So practically, Emerald lived alone in Xiao hui's apartment.

She had met Xiao hui, just like Anapieva in the chinese language class six months ago. Only this time in a different Chinese level, the HSK 3, also Xiao hui was half French half Chinese and unlike Anapieva, very outgoing. She was the life of a party and had way too much confidence which in the end had rubbed off on Emerald.

After Emerald had left Anapieva's apartment, she had stayed at another friend's place while She had waited for the feedback from the agency She had used to apply to the University. She had to wait one more month and in that period she couldn't rent a house because that would mean signing a full year or six months contract. So, after two weeks of moving back and forth between her friends' apartments, She felt like a burden and almost rented until Xiao hui offered her her place to live and leave whenever She wanted. The only condition was, since Xiao hui held evening classes in the apartment, Emerald had to return home not before 8:00pm everyday. She didn't have to pay anything to live there. Emerald agreed and moved in immediately. A month later, the agency contacted her saying her applications didn't go through. So She had to stay in Beijing and She didnt have to look for a house because she already had somewhere temporary to stay.

"So, Gal, like I've always told you, If I'm Okay with something I'll tell you and vice versa." Xiao hui told Emerald. Yes, that was another thing Emerald had noticed about the white friends She had stayed and associated with over time. They were always straight forward and never kept anything inside., just like her Mother and sister. Emerald was the opposite, She had tried to be so open and straight forward but had failed. She just couldn't change somethings about her. Like the way She just couldn't come out with the secret she was keeping, which in any case if it was Xiao hui's problem She would have talked already.

"I know Gal." Emerald answered.

"Exactly, that's why I'm saying, If Marek comes here and you guys like eachother, you can do whatever you want with him."

"Not gonna happen. Thanks for offering me your Ex though, I'm over joyed." Emerald rolled her eyes understanding clearly what Xiao hui meant.

"Gal, never say never. We don't mean anything to eachother now, that was like six years ago." She pressed, She really wanted her friend to have a life. Or maybe settle with someone nice, because as far as she could remember, Marek had been a nice guy to her. They had last seen eachother six years ago in Ireland. They both were MMA fighters, they met in the MMA fighting club there.

"Okay, Let's wait and see. I might not even like the guy." She whined, She just wanted her friend off her back. Emerald wasn't really ready to start anything with any guy. Her relationship with men recently had been strainous. And there was that thing She hadn't told Xiao hui yet. Emerald was already freaking out on the inside. So She didn't want to start something else She would regret later, again.

"Believe me, you'll like him. Only you'll help me with something Gal because I won't have time. Please help me take him around especially on weekends when you have no work, I'll pay for everything."

"You know I got your back always. So don't worry about that." Emerald assured her. The other thing about the two girls was that they both thought the other was always doing them a favor and they appreciated. Emerald was grateful for Xiao hui but even Xiao hui was grateful. They both were grateful for eachother.

"Great, do you wanna watch some cartoon?" Xiao hui asked and without waiting for a response, turned her laptop to face Emerald.

"Which one?"

"There's this funny cartoon, just come closer Gal." Emerald moved her chair closer to the laptop, Xiao hui went to the fridge and removed chocolate bars and ice-cream. Thirty minutes later, they were both immersed in The Amazing world of Gumball. That was always their daily routine, drink some wine, eat junk and watch cartoon.

Marek stood up after he had packed whatever he was going to need. He loved travelling light because it enabled him to be flexible. Since it was still summer time, he had packed jean shorts and short sleeved shirts. Also one long jean and one long sleeved shirt just incase of a weather change. He may be a Boss but he wasn't a man of suits. Imagine him going to a workout to meet his clients for exercise in a suit. The idea was laughable. Thank God his job didn't have a need for any of that. He could pick a package in his pajamas and still deliver it dressed like that. Or he could go to meet his clients in his gym in shorts and the Ladies sure wouldn't protest.

He looked around the apartment and everything was neat. He loved his life, and his house. Everything was where it was supposed to be, even when he returns, no one would have touched anything. He carried his bag and headed downstairs to grab a taxi to the Airport. He didn't want to bother anyone to drive him to the Airport. "China here I come." He said as he locked his apartment and entered the elevator.

It was going to be a long flight. Almost two days in the air, they had a stop over at Charles De Gaulle Airport then to Beijing. He found a taxi that took him to the Warsaw Airport. He reached in time for check in and fifteen minutes later, he was sitting in the waiting area. Poland was good for him, he loved the fact that there was a moderate number of people. He sat down in one of the comfortable seats and connected his ear piece to his phone then tapped on his playlist. He usually listened to motivational speeches a lot and manifestations and slow peaceful music. It calmed his spirit, body, soul and mind. Peace was the number one priority in his life, he never stuck around people with negative vibes, he would rather be alone. An announcement for his flight was made and he got up and went towards his plane to board. His heart was jumping with joy and excitement, he didn't know why but he was sure open to options and explorations. He sat down in his favorite VIP seat and laid back. It was going to be a long trip.
