I decided to just wait a few minutes, if my dad didn't come back then I'd assume that they were speaking. The doctor soon came out to which we all crowded around him waiting for the news that's been putting us on edge all day.
"Charles is going to be fine, I managed to stop the bleeding and his ribs weren't too affected by the impact. I would like to keep him here for a few days just to monitor him. You can go see him but he won't be awake since he's just got out of surgery" the doctor finishes rubbing a hand on sally's shoulder.
Sally didn't care, she just wanted to see her husband, and rightly so.
Now it was just myself and Trey in the waiting room because I thought sally would want some time to talk to Charles herself not like he would answer just yet but talking to him would give her some comfort I'm sure.
I still can't believe that my dad is here, it's been years since I last saw him and although I hate his f*****g guts for walking out on us I couldn't help but smile. The thought of having him here is almost like a little bit of closure.
I honestly have no idea how my mother is going to react because she has been the one most affected by him leaving. Due to the abuse, she gives me.
Trey was chatting on his phone when my uncle came back into the room. So, I decided to have a little chat with my dear uncle.
God knows what he was doing when he brought my dad here fully knowing there was a possibility that my mum would be here as well.
"Mia, I really didn't expect your mother to come here I'm sorry" he sits on one of the chairs placing his hands on his face.
I join him by sitting on the chair next to him. "no one thought she would, but what about me didn't you think I would like a little warning before my father just showed up" I mean yes mum and dad have had a life together and this must be hard for her.
He did tell me before we got here but he must have known for a few days.
But he's the man that I call my father he did bring me up through the 8 years I had with him. Seeing him is just frightening. I had the thought that it was my fault, he left because I was brought into their family.
Is he here just to see Charles because I doubt, he's here to make amends with my mother and come back into our lives.
"I know I'm sorry, I was going to tell you once we got inside the house but I only got the call from sally to tell me Charles was in an accident." I can't blame him completely for this, it's not his deal he has a family to look after.
"it's okay I'm sure things will get back to normal in no time," I say looking out towards the hallway.
We all sat there for a while before we could hear some laughing coming down the hospital ward. If anyone knew my mother they would recognise that laugh from anywhere.
I watched the space carefully and I was shocked to see my parents walking down the hallway hand in hand and smiling.
My breath hitched when they both locked eyes with mine. Is she seriously this happy, she either really loved him or is just so stupid that she would easily let him into her life again.
"honey lets go, we can speak to Charles in the morning," my mum says looking directly into my eyes.
Is she for real. My mouth stayed open completely confused at her actions right now.
She's just going to act like she hasn't made my life s**t, just when my dad comes back she acts all innocent. Give me a f*****g break.
Dad looks at me weirdly when he sees that I haven't moved an inch and I'm now staring daggers into the eyes of the women I call my mother.
Taking a deep breath, I walk forward, after shoving a hand that was laced on my shoulder, probably holding me back from doing something reckless.
I'm not going to be her, I will not hit my parents.
"leave her" I hear my uncle whisper, I'm guessing it was Trey's hand that was placed on my shoulder.
I finally walk up and meet them eye to eye. Even though they're both taller than me I don't feel even slightly intimidated because are they really my parents, the two people that looked after me. The only people I can call my parents who love me dearly are the two in that hospital room.
And their suffering where as these two. Give me a break.
"I'm happy for you, glad you're finally are happy," I say before making my way through the middle of them, making sure to shove my mom out of her fake ass state.
"Mia do not disrespect your mother like that" his voice booms through the room, shocking not only me but everyone. How can he act like my father right now. He has no right I will not let them walk all over me just because I am their child.
"Jason just don't" I can hear my uncle's angry voice call out to him.
"why not, has my daughter lost all respect" he tries to argue his side, pulling his wife into his side.
I really didn't want to retaliate, I knew if sally and Charles were here they would say raise your head sweetie and do not stoop to their level. I looked directly at my mother and I may be wrong but she was scared.
She knew that sooner or later my dad was going to find out and that frightened her.
I knew that if I stayed here any longer I would be in tears, so I tried and I say tried to walk away but there was a firm hold on my waist preventing me from doing just that.
I look down and recognise the familiar long fingers and notice the family ring he has on his middle finger. "do you trust me" he whispers looking into my eyes.
I didn't know what he meant but I just nodded because oddly I do. There isn't anything bad that he's done. He may have forced me onto a death trap at the fair but in all honesty, he's always looking out for me.
"I'm waiting Mia, apologise to your mother," dad says lowering his voice at an attempt to intimidate me and the boy next to me.
"you want apologies, why don't we start" Trey turns to my mother, quite sharply might I add. She takes an intake of breath before grabbing my dad's shoulder, almost to protect her.
I knew Trey wouldn't do anything rational he only wanted to prove a point.
"Boy I would watch how you speak," he says staring daggers at Trey, he doesn't even flinch though, just stays standing with the same angry expression.
With a swift motion, Trey softly takes a hold of the back of my neck and moves the hair away from my face before turning to look at my parents.
"Mia will show respect once she receives it, you left them what to live in your penthouse and you" Trey says glaring back at my mother.
" Decided to disrespect your only daughter by marking her beautiful face with your hand" I notice my dad's eyes widen as they turn to me and he finally sees the mark that even after days still is clear on my cheek.
Trey seems to be pleased with his words as my dad removes her and from his.
"YOU DID WHAT," an angry voice says behind us all. I expected it to by henry, my uncle but when I turned I saw the last women I wanted to know about this.
"sally I can explain" my mother pleads.
I ran out of there before anything else could happen. I knew Trey was following me but I didn't care I just needed to get out.
