Chapter 4: Alena's POV

'what the heck just happened.' I thought to myself. I had never seen Dominic that pissed off. I shook my head and headed to where my dad said to meet him. I knew that the next couple of days, I would be required to take a break from training. Since finding my mate meant that i would probably be mated and marked that night. But I remembered that last night my wolf wanted to talk to me. She said it was important. 

*Flash Back*

I was getting ready for bed when I felt something tugging at my mind. Even though, I knew that no one was around, I decided that going to the forest was the best. I grabbed my shoes and sneaked down the halls. I kept glancing around, just to make sure I was all alone. Once outside, I ran to the forest and went to the secret hide out, the one me and my brother found several years back. I let out a breath as I slowed to a walk. I did one more glance around before sitting near the waterfall.

After resting for a moment, I closed my eyes and began to relax, so that my wolf could come forward. After another five minutes, I felt her. "Hello" I stated.

"Alena. The moon goddess said that this is a dire situation and that I needed to know who my mate was early. Something about possibly rejecting us. " Serena stated.

"why Serena?" I asked her with a hint of worry in my voice.

"No, I'm sorry Alena, she did not state why. But I have feeling we will find out soon. I will also be able to see all your memories and also know that our parents and some others are hoping we are mated to the future alpha. I know you are worried he won't accept us if we are. But there is something you should know." Serena stated and stopped talking for a moment before she let out a small whine. "Alena, our parents are of beta rank but we are not a beta. We are a female alpha. One of the few that have been born out of the Donovan blood line. It is rare but the reason the daughters are always born first and then a second born is always male." Serena stopped talking.

"So does this mean that I am meant to be mated to an alpha to continue on the alpha line side of the Donovan family but Eric is going to continue on the beta blood line?" I asked and she let out a small huff with a sassy yes. I gave a sigh and looked at the sky. Serena has going quite and I wondered if she would be around the next morning to be able to help me with things. I was also wondering if Dominic would be ok with the fact that I am an alpha, since I am sure that he will be my mate even if i didn't want him to be.

"Alena, we can't tell Dominic we are an alpha until he decided he wants to figure it out for himself. Otherwise we will be in danger." Serena stated before going to the back of my mind and blocking me out. I sighed and stood before heading back to the pack house to go to bed.

*End of flashback*

I felt Serena stir and hoped she wasn't waking up to tell me what i didn't want to hear. When Dominic had gotten close I had smelt something that I couldn't get enough of. It was the smell of pine and rain. After Dominic stepped next to me, i knew what was happening. I couldn't and wouldn't let anyone know that Dominic was my mate. I would wait till my birthday which was this weekend.

"Alena, yes Dominic is our mate. That would be why i was feeling off this morning. I couldn't smell him and he wasn't close enough for me to be able to tell. But now that I know and have connected with his wolf. They both know that I am here and his wolf is ready to accept us but Dominic isn't happy that you are of beta rank." Serena stated with a small whine.

"Serena, i promise you that, while i might not be happy with this, when you told me last night that i am a rare alpha female. I will do everything in my power to be able to keep Dominic from rejecting us." I stated to my wolf. I now knew i had to go tell my family and hoped they didn't tell Dominic. I was dreading my birthday when i could shift so that Serena could show her self off and prove she was the female alpha.
