Chapter 1 - Alena's POV

Chapter 1 - Alena’s POV I stand in front of my window and think about turning sixteen in three days. I know that I will be able to find my mate after that night. I just hope that my mother and father are wrong. I know that they want me to be Dominic’s mate but something about him weirds me out. I don’t know what it is and neither does my wolf, Serena. I close my eyes for a moment before turning from the window. I decided now was the time to head down to breakfast before going to training.  I made it down to the dining room of the pack house. I look around to find all my family and friends already eating. I smile once I notice that my brother has saved me a plate. I walk to where he is sitting, pulling the chair out and plopping down. I grabbed the plate, thanking my brother and began to eat. I glance up when I hear the other females talking about how Dominic still hadn’t found his mate and hoped he would just pick one of them. I gave a low growl, even though I didn’t understand why. I shook my head and kept my head down, I hated how the pack treated some of the lower ranked members but I didn’t have that problem. I was of course the daughter of the packs Beta.  After eating I head out to the training grounds. I see my father leading the class. I smile and head towards him. I know he would want me to join and I was more than ready for a little sparring.  “Alena, pair up with Brian and start with hand to hand. Once you both are warmed up, I would like to have you spar with Logan in wolf form.” my father stated. He always made me start with hand to hand then move to wolf form. It’s a fun time as my wolf was always eager to be let loose. I nod to my father and walk to Brian. Brian was already in the area I normally spar with others in. I remove my t-shirt, tossing it to the side and pulling my hair into a messy bun. I knew it would get messed up anyways, no point in trying to make it look decent. I begin with doing my stretches and get my muscles to relax. Today I didn’t plan to hold back and I knew Brian wouldn’t as well. Brian was the son of the pack’s Gamma but he was just as strong as me and my brother.
