Randy had spotted a bamboo grove earlier and, armed with his stone axe, set off to chop some down. He planned to build a pit trap, lining the bottom with sharpened bamboo stakes. It was an ambitious project, especially given his limited tools. The pit trap was the simplest option. Relatively easy to construct, easily concealed, and versatile.
