I've had enough 21

Chapter 21 Tori's POV: What is my sister thinking, choosing a chosen mate? This can go so wrong. She can get hurt. She can say she won't, but I know she will. It's just like in Paris when she was dating this guy. I knew he was bad news, but she wouldn't listen. She almost ended up in jail if I didn't lie for her and told them she was with me all night long. The man killed someone, and she was there with him. But that's in the past now. Now, she is doing something completely different. I can't say anything because then she would think I was jealous, or I liked him for myself, and it's neither. I just do not want her to get hurt, that's all. Once everyone had met him, all four of us walked to the house. Great, now four people will be living here until the pack is done being built. I can handle this. I just like space, that's all. Rachel and I cooked dinner. It wasn't anything fancy, just breakfast for dinner. I made the eggs while she cooked the bacon. I made grits, and she made the hash browns. Once we were done eating, we went up to our rooms. I really hope she knows what she is doing. I'll talk to her tomorrow. Tonight, let them be alone. Rachel's POV: I knew Tori had her opinions about this. But to my surprise, she said nothing on the matter. I bet she will talk to me about it tomorrow. We went to our rooms after we ate dinner. We had my favorite breakfast for dinner. You can't go wrong eating that, right? After dinner, we went up to our rooms. I was nervous about this. I wasn't ready to mate. I was really scared. I'm twenty-one, and I still haven't done anything with anyone. I had a few boyfriends, but once they figured out I wasn't going to give it up, they broke up with me. You know how human men are. Some are just after one thing, and that's between your legs. They weren't my mate. I wasn't going to do that with them, and Cord isn't my mate either, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go. We got to my room, and he shut the door behind him. "Listen, I know you're new at this, so am I, so don't worry. Go take your shower, and I will have mine, and then we will just hang out and talk, okay," I was so relieved when he said that. So, I got my clothes and rushed into the bathroom. I took a quick shower, dried off, and then got dressed in my night shorts and shirt. I wanted to look cute, so I got the baby blue ones out. Once done, I brushed my hair out, then brushed my teeth. I didn't want smelly breath, walking out to the room. "You can shower now. There is plenty of hot water," he nodded, then went in there. He didn't even bother shutting the door. Was that an invite to see his stuff? I wasn't sure. So I walked over to the bed and got into the covers. I was sitting up changing the channels when he walked out of the bathroom. He tossed the towel into the hamper. He was only wearing a pair of his boxers, and some of the shower water was making its way down his chest. Walking over to the other side of the bed, he got into it and then covered up. "Listen, how about we mark each other, and then after that, we will go from there. This isn't easy for me either because I've waited for my mate. Well, he just made it easy for me, so let's do this. I'm not sure who wanted to go first, but we scooted close to each other. He moved my hair from my neck, then leaned into me, inhaling my scent. He licked my marking spot, and then he marked me. It hurt like a bit*h when he was done. I did the same to him. We moved away from each other, and then he said to me, “Listen, I don’t want to hurt you. I never want to do that. So, once I find my mate, I will come to you and talk to you about it. I'm just not going to reject you without you knowing why I did it. I wasn't raised to hurt other people unless they are rogues that are attacking. You see, my parents were chosen mates. They chose each other because they never found their mates. Now it's my turn.” Was this guy for real? He is such a sweet talker. I wondered what happened to his parents. I bet that asshole did something to them. I wasn't sure if I wanted to jump this guy's bones and get it over with or just lay in his arms. He scooted down in the bed, so I did the same. I turned my back to him, but he pulled me close to him, then said goodnight. I really hope I didn't have any dreams about that strange man. If he was truly my mate, then he would have come by now. Who knows, maybe he’s dead, and he is just hunting my dreams. I'm not sure, but when I closed my eyes, I fell asleep peacefully. That is until I started dreaming. Here we go again. I hate it when this happens. I was running in the woods. I'm not sure if something was after me or I was running after something, but I knew I was running. I heard growls and snapping of teeth. When I looked back, I saw rogues. They were chasing me. I needed to run faster. One got my shirt, ripping it. Lucky for me, I had a sports bra on, so I kept running. Where the heck was my family at? Why was I the only one out here? Was I being punished? And then, suddenly, I didn't hear anything. Slowing down, I bent down with my hands on my knees. I was trying to catch my breath, then I heard it: his voice. It sounded different this time, like he was sad or something. “Come with me, or they will kill you,” he looked over my shoulder. I turned to see what he was looking at. There were three men with daggers in their hands. I sighed. I knew I would die of something someday. “If I come over there, you will just vanish. What's the use? You like playing mind games with me. I can't even see your face. I've had enough of these dreams you make me have. Whoever hurt you before, I'm not them. Since you won't show yourself to me and you keep going away, I'm tired of being alone. I chose a mate. Just leave me alone. If you can’t be the man that you should be and let me grab your hand without vanishing, then you don't need me, do you? You probably already have a chosen mate. And why am I even arguing with a ghost? You're probably dead and just want to haunt my dreams until I go crazy. Of all the things you could do, you've done this to me. Just leave me be and let me sleep in peace. That's all.” I turned away from him. This is the first time I turned away from this guy or ghost. I didn't know what he was. Then I walked past the three men with their knives in their hands, and then I went on. I don't know what it was, but I felt better after I said what I said. Maybe I needed to say it. Maybe he is a ghost and just wanted to haunt my dreams. Maybe my mate is dead. Who knows.
