Chapter 47
Tori POV
I woke at five a.m., took a shower, and then got dressed. He was already up. I told him last night what I was planning on doing, so he got up to do the office work early so we could start on it. The omegas were awake, as were some of the pack members. They wanted to help. We had over two hundred houses and rooms that needed to be fixed up. We had a truckload of blankets, pillows, and photos to put up on the walls. We just needed to unload everything.
He was just walking out of the office as I was about to head in that direction.
"Are you ready for today? We have a lot to do." I nodded and then said, "Let's get it done. They will be here tomorrow." We hurried out of the house. I was shocked to see half the pack outside waiting for us to come out. Looking over at him, he smirked.
"I mind-linked them asking to help everyone who has a house to themselves to fix up. When they get done with that, they go to the next one."Well, that’s half the battle right there. It might not take that long after all, but who knows," I thought. We started unloading the truck. Each of us helped each other. I went to the first house. I noticed that the photos were still in their cases. A truck full of food would be here soon so we could stock up the houses. We needed to hurry. I unpacked the photos, placing them on the walls. Then I went up to the bedrooms, putting clean blankets and pillows on the bed. I opened the windows to let fresh air inside. I made sure everything was cleaned. I even put towels in the bathroom with cleaning supplies like shampoo and other things they might need. It took an hour to do this house. Once I was done, I went to the next one. It was getting late when the truck with the food finally arrived. We had to unload and stock the houses with it. I didn’t even know how long it took, but it took a while. I was exhausted. It was five in the afternoon when we were finally done with the houses. We still needed to do the rooms in the pack house. What did I get myself into? We should have started yesterday, but he had other plans. I was walking into the house, ready to start with one of the rooms when one of the omegas walked out of the room I was about to go into.
"Luna, all the rooms are ready. We were working on them while everyone was out there fixing up the houses. This was the last one. Would you like to take a look?" I really didn't want to, but I knew she wanted me to.
Sure, Sally, I would love to. Walking into the room, I looked around; everything was spotless. The blankets were on the bed with the pillows, and the bathroom was spotless with everything they needed as well. Everything was dusted.
"Wow, Sally, you did an amazing job. Thank you so much. I'm going to talk to Alpha Bear and see if he will pay you double the amount this week. Go and rest; you all deserve it," she hugged me and hurried away. I decided I would check all the rooms, and trust me, there are a lot. I checked only half of them. Then I was done; I was exhausted. I went to our room, fell on the bed, and then fell asleep. I didn’t know how long I was sleeping when I felt being shaken. "What in the world is going on here?" I yawned, sitting up in bed. Bear was laughing at me.
"You couldn't handle all of the cleaning; you slept most of the night. It's five in the morning. I slept on the couch because I couldn't move you; you were out like a damn light. They should be here about four today, so get some more sleep. Scoot over; the couch is hurting my back," I laughed as I laid right on the bed. He got on his side, covered up, and we went right back to sleep. I was still tired. When we finally woke up, it was about two in the afternoon. "Sh*t, we need to get up. We need to get to the airport. We had several people that would be driving their cars so they could pack the pack in the cars. Thank the goddess, we had SUVs, so we won't need many cars. We had ten SUVs, so we will need about twenty people with either trucks or cars. The SUVs come in handy. I even talked to Bear about giving the omegas twice their pay since they did an amazing job on the rooms. He agreed and told me he would pay them when we got home. We all got into the SUVs and then sped off. It took an hour to get to the airport, and then we would have to wait. So we needed to get there. Bear and I would only go inside while everyone stayed outside. They could actually come inside to get something to drink. I knew it was hot today."
We made it to the airport; I texted my sister, letting her know we were here and waiting. She texted back, telling me she was excited to be home. I really hope she was okay. Cord was so busy training with the warriors. I don't even think he was worried about her. I hope he wasn't. He needs to worry about his mate, not my sister. Thirty minutes later, she mindlinked me.
"We are about to land; we have five jets that are going to land."
"Don’t worry; we have plenty of room. Just get here already," she was laughing when we shut the link off. It was fun joking around with my sister.
