Chapter 48

Rachel POV

When my sister called, I was thrilled to know that she was waiting at the airport for us. I had missed my sister and the rest of my family. I couldn't wait to see them. I know it's only been just a week, but when you are always with them and then suddenly you're not, it's a whole lot different. I felt odd not seeing my sister every day, but since Cole has been building on the land close to them, we could still see each other, just not every single day. We have pack duties to take care of, people to deal with, and meetings we have to attend. We just had the Luna ceremony yesterday, and then Rida came into the office yelling at my mate. I didn't realize she had helped him get his act together, and then boom I came along and took what she thought was hers. I felt bad for her. I know she plans to challenge me at the battle arena. I think I'm going to try and speak with her, maybe then we can get on the same page with each other, though I doubt we would be. Women like that are sneaky. They will pretend to be your friend but talk behind your back. I have dealt with girls like that; they will be friendly to your face, try to get all kinds of information from you - your past, the guys you have dated, things you have done wrong - and then twist it all around to make you look like the bad guy, like you are just a w***e. Then, your so-called true friends will start turning their backs on you. Does that sound familiar? I know she had gotten on one of the jets. We weren't going to leave anyone behind, but those who didn't want to go would have gone to another pack. However, everyone left with us. The trucks will be here in a few weeks, and that's when we start moving into our new pack. They still need to build the guard station, the training grounds, and a library that Cole wanted. I wanted a greenhouse, so they have to build that as well. Not to mention that the gardeners have to plant flowers and establish a vegetable garden by each house. Once that is done, everything will fall into place. Sitting back in my seat, Cole told me that we would be landing in five minutes. Good, that means I'm close enough to mindlink now. So I mindlinked my sister, informing her that we were about to land, and there are other jets behind us as well. She said she had plenty of rides for everyone. Ten minutes later, the jet landed. I was tired and felt dizzy; I must have had jet lag. I already knew what it was. We retrieved our bags - it was just two bags each. Then we waited until the door was open so we could exit the plane. Once the door was open, we left, heading inside the airport to get out of there and head to my sister's pack. I was tired, and I needed a shower badly; I felt like I was stinking. We waited until the pack's jets landed, then entered the airport. When the last one landed and everyone was with us, we started walking through the airport. Cole and I were in front, with two guards beside us and the rest of the pack behind us. We also had two warriors following behind as well. People would stop and look at us, wondering who we were. To the human eye, we seemed like a bunch of people who had just gotten off an airplane, but to the supernatural, they knew what we were; they just didn't know where we came from. They stood there watching us; the humans had no idea that werewolves were there. The only time a human knew about us was if they were the mate of one of us. We got into the lobby, where my sister and her mate were standing. I ran over to her, hugging her.

“How was your flight?”

It was good, I'm just a little tired, and I need a shower. Are you ready to head out? I know the pack must be exhausted.

Yep. Let's get going. We have houses and a pack house full of rooms ready for them. The mated will be staying in the houses, and the unmated will stay in the pack house. We stocked the houses up with food, so they will be able to cook and rest once they get there.

Alright, they will love it, I'm sure of it. We headed out of the airport to outside, where I saw a bunch of SUVs and other cars waiting for us. We got into the SUV where Tori and Bear were driving. Then, everyone else crammed into the other SUVs and cars. Again, the humans were just watching. I bet they even thought we were royalty or something.

It took an hour to get home. I knew Cole was a little nervous; he was going to meet the family and probably even go on a collection with us. Once one of us finds our mate, we show them what we are and see what we do if they really want this in their lives. I can’t wait for Cole to check it out. He said he was ready, but we will see.

Once home, Tori showed the unmated their rooms.

"Guys, if you're hungry, dinner will be done in about an hour. So, if you want to shower and rest up, you're more than welcome to join us for dinner if you want." After her talk, she showed the mated to the houses. I went with her to check things out. She did a wonderful job on all these houses. "I like what they had done to them," I whispered to her. "Did you get the new bed for my house?"

"Yes, and I burnt the old one. I even got new blankets and pillows for the bed and left the windows open so no other scent was in there. I knew she would do that. She wanted to make sure that Cord's scent was long gone before I got back. I don't know how I could reassure her that I'm honestly okay." She walked Cole and me to our house, hugged us, then said, "I will see y'all tomorrow. I know you want to shower and rest. If you want to eat dinner with us, it will be done in an hour." She hugged me once more, then whispered in my ear, “He seems to really love you. I'm glad you have your mate.” Then she walked off. I was so ready to take a shower. Walking into the house, I told Cole, "We have a bathroom downstairs and one upstairs in the room. Which one do you want to take a shower in?"

"How about we shower together upstairs, so after we shower and then rest for a bit. I know you want to see your family, and I know I need to meet them, so let's do it," I said, smiling at him. I was so happy that he had said that. He wanted to meet my family. I just hope he was ready for it.
