Chapter 11 - The daughter

1145 Words
Poem: Bitter Soul Turned Liar ... In shadows cast, a girl so young, With a bitter soul, her heart had wrung. A tapestry of lies she'd weave, To mask the pain, herself deceive. . Her eyes, like windows to the night, Held secrets hidden from the light. A smile, a mask upon her face, Concealed the truth of her inner grace. . With every word, a fiction spun, Her tangled web, her battle won. Yet beauty, like a rose in bloom, Could not erase her inner gloom. . She danced through life with grace and guile, But underneath, her soul, so fragile. A wounded heart, a fractured core, She lied to shield it even more. . In time, perhaps, she'd find the way, To let the bitterness decay. To heal the wounds, to mend the heart, And from the path of lies depart. . For even in her web of art, Lies the potential for a fresh start. To shed the bitterness that binds, And let her true beauty shine. ... ... Unknown girl P.O.V. ... ... For the past five years, I've relished in my freedom - all because the Moon Goddess, Selene, had rescued me. Where she showed me two different life paths, each unfolded in diverse ways. . Version One: Fuck my mother with all her w*****g minions. They will pay for what they did to me, because I want them to die! Pro-revenge! That is all I want, that is all I need. . Version Two: Joyful Life to a good age of 120 with a loving Mate. Happy Family of ten... . She then gave me a poem to read, telling me that its meaning will soon be revealed. With every word I read, I felt a key being turned, unlocking hidden recesses of my mind. Realising that my own mother had performed dark rituals on me during a night of a full moon to amplify the power inside of me, followed by her wiping my memory of the events. With a heavy sigh, I came to terms with the fact that her fond nickname for me, "Sweet Ivory", was masked by the hurtful name she called me behind my back: "Ebony Sarcasmsnare." Another memory surfaced from the time I was four years old, when I inadvertently delved into my mothers thoughts, uncovering the truth about my deceased siblings. I never imagined she had other children, let alone that she'd utilise me as a vessel for their extraordinary abilities. Then again, it wasn't unusual for her to remove specific memories from my mind, ensuring I wouldn't be asking questions. I examined my black hands, contemplating the possible skin tones my siblings might have had - despite our mother being white. Goddess Selene even revealed the reason why she chose me. She elaborated into the sick and twisted history of my mother, and her sinister intentions for power with the lost legion. My task was simple: feign the persona of a solitary witch with dark tendencies and special abilities. With her grace, I was given a new home and the blessing of the three sights. (Premonition, Precognition, Retrocognition.) Goddess Selene further explained that they are meant to support me in recovering what had been stolen for the last two thousand years. She even gave me a new name: Seraphina Jackson. She revealed to me that I would be living with my mate and his family, a secure haven that is concealed from the entire Supernatural World. . My mate's name is Jonathan Mallery. I learned that he comes from a unique lineage, his mother is a werewolf and a witch, and his father is a captivating blend of a shifter and a siren. Within their pack that thrives with an assortment of magical beings, all dedicated to the cause laid out by the Moon Goddess. ... Present day ... I collapsed into a chair after I sent Richard back to his office, as a wave of exhaustion and irritation swept over me. My hands instinctively move to rub my sizable belly. I whispered a prayer of gratitude to the Moon Goddess for giving me the strength to carry out our plans until this last day I had to lay eyes on that loathsome dog of a man. I couldn't help but smile, relishing the role I played in being a key player in manipulating him like a mere puppet. I took a deep breath of air and let it out, as I expelled any lingering negativity, clearing my mind. Before sleep overtakes me, I stood up and collected the three discreet blood vials he left. I then carefully placed them inside a concealed wrist pouch on my left hand. I took a few more seconds to look down at my bulging belly. I found relief in the fact that my pregnancy was nearing the end in the fifth month, considering the usual nine-month duration for a human female. In my perspective, it feels like a bit excessive. Like now, the burden of carrying five pups had drained all my energy, and I was more than ready for my three hour power nap. I groaned internally when I recognized the familiar stir in the pit of my stomach, and I knew I had to move it before I went on an eating rampage. Gathering the final shreds of my energy, I activated the cleansing spell by touching the white crystal on the table. I executed a unique backward dance, entering my enchanted room and navigating into the secure zone. As my portal area shifted into its new coded dance system. I removed the locket that had been designed with additional charms to safeguard my appearance, as I carefully placed it on a table near the door. As I opened the door to leave the witchy room, the silence was shattered by my large belly responded with five unmistakable growls. I felt so embarrassed when I saw my mate, Jonathan, his mother, and one of his aunts holding plates of my favourite foods. I know Jonathan comes from a large family, where boys outnumber the girls in their sizable household, creating a lively atmosphere. All I desired was to ensure good health and happiness for my unborn children. Just as I was about to grab the plate, my mate playfully took it away and told me to move it or lose it, hinting at a special surprise waiting for me in the kitchen. In an unexpected turn of events, I discovered they had organised an extravagant baby shower at 4am in the morning. The last two months, my nocturnal lifestyle had led to increased activities during the night, leaving daytime to be reserved for much needed sleep. My mate then led me into the lounge area, where I stood in awe at the sight of five tables overflowing with baby gifts. ... ...
