An Alpha's Rejection

Chapter 14

"Hello little Mate!" came from the doorway, Alex is howling not in excitement but in anger, I look already knowing just by his scent who it is, I'm greeted by hazel eyes flashing red, his wolf wants out, he was smiling but his eyes had hurt and confusion behind them,

'What the hell is he hurt by!!'

'f*ck knows, right now I'm pi**ed he didn't even correct anyone when they mentioned that b*tch as his MATE!'

Zach lets out a growl when noticed Nate's arm still around me,

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY MATE" he roars, Nate doesn't even flinch,

"Levi, Nate I want you both to leave" I say my eyes still focused on Zach's, I won't show weakness this time, I want this to be as quick and painless as possible,

"NO" they both say,

"Do not make me use my Alpha tone on you, this is your only chance to leave willingly" they both bow their heads, I quickly mind link Nate,

'Find Roman, tell him where I am and what's happening!'

'Princess I can't leave you here!'

'Nate, just do as I ask, he can't hurt me anymore than me already has, besides for the time being I'm still his Mate' I state, Levi and Nate leave hesitantly, they close the door behind them, we stand in silence just staring at each other,

"I've been looking for you Emily" Zach breaks the silence first, 

"That's nice" I roll my eye at him, he moves closer to me, 

"DON'T" I shout, he doesn't listen and come closer anyway, I freeze, he wraps his arms around me, my skin on my back is tingling from his touch, he places his head in the crook of my neck I can hear him inhaling my scent, I leave my arms by my sides awkwardly,

My eye started to water, this is all I wanted from the start, I take a moment to enjoy his final touch, this will be the last time, for both our sakes, 

After a minute I grab his arms and pry myself from his grip, I push him away with all my strength, he stumbles backwards with a look of shock on his face,

"Get the hell away from me!"  I say through gritted teeth, I'm kind of glad he'd been sleeping with Celine, even though it hurt like sh*t it makes this and accepting his rejection a lot easier, 

"Cut the attitude! you are mine!" he growls, I just laugh at him, I can see he's agitated, he steps closer again, 

"Oh hell no, you lost the right to call me yours when you rejected me...." I pause, I can see regret written all over his face, 

"I'm sor...." he starts and I cut him off, he growls at my interruption,

"....and when you slept with Celine!" I point out calmly, his looks down at the floor and them back at me, he doesn't say anything, he can't even look at me properly, at least he didn't deny it, I can feel Alex she trying to push forward,

"Did Levi tell you? I didn't think he knew" he whispers,

"You have no clue, do you!..." I laugh in disbelief rolling my eyes "... no one had to tell me, you see everything you do to her...... when you kiss her,......... when you touch her,........ when you f*ck her,....... I feel it all because of our stupid mating bond!" I spit out at him, I can see him cringe at everything I say,

I'm not going to tell him that I nearly killed myself over it,

"Emily she was just an easy F*ck" he tries to justify,

"WOW..... are you hearing yourself right now!, why are you even here Zee"

"I want you Emily I should never of rejected you, I had my reasons but I shouldn't of"

"No Zee! I don't care for your reasons! You only want me now because you've realised that not only do I have a wolf but I'm the daughter of a powerful Alpha, in your eyes only NOW I'M GOOD ENOUGH" I can feel my eye have turned purple but Alex hasn't come forward this is all me, 

"That is not the case Emily, I've wanted you for a long time! even before we found out we were Mates, I've always been drawn to you" he yells,

"Did a great job at showing it!, when you had me you pushed me away!,........ how did you even find me here?" I question irritated,

"I had a feeling when you entered the hall and you growled, you growled just the same the night you left, and then when you called me by the nickname you gave me when we were kids, only thing that was off was I couldn't smell your scent till now"

I'm losing my patients here, I don't want to waste anymore time on this, I need to do this now or I fear I'll give in to him,

"I, Emily Veronica Ashford acc...." he pins me against the pillar thats holding the balcony up and covers my mouth, 

"Don't you DARE!" he whispers in my ear with a husky voice, he runs his hand through my hair and pulls slightly, revealing my neck to him,

"You are mine, understood!" he growls lowly, his teeth elongate, panic is setting in, I know he's about to mark me, I'm completely frozen everything is happening to quick for me to react,

 He leans in and starts nipping at my neck, it's sending shivers down my spin, stupid mating bond, Alex being a wolf is begging for it,

"No..... please....." I whisper, he just chuckles at me, I hold my breath, I know this will be painful as it's against my will, he's about to bite when he's ripped away from me, thrown across the room, I slip down the pilar, the relief washes over me, I look up and see Roman putting his hand out to help me up,

"It's okay Flower, Come on let me help you" Roman gently says, 

I look over to Zach and see Alpha Lucas has him pinned against the wall by his throat, growling at him, both their eyes are red, Roman helps me up, I slowly walk over to them, 

"Alpha Lucas please release him" I gently place my hand on his shoulder, he relaxes under my touch, that's weird, he does as I ask and Zach falls to his knees, Alpha Lucas is stronger than Zach that was clear, 

Alpha Lucas moves to stand behind me next to Roman, Zach grabs his throat, before I can say or do anything Zach speaks,

"I, Zachary Xavier Black revoke my rejection and accept you, Emily Veronica Ashford as my Mate and Luna" he smiles in pleasure, I can hear a growl come from behind me, I don't really recognise it, I don't look to see,

"NOO" I scream, he stands up, all smug, I can hear Roman growling at him! Nate and Levi come running in with Will and Celine, Celine starts growling at me, a switch flicks inside; I feel power I've only felt once before and that was the night I left, I'll make him pay for this, I growl making everyone flinch, Celine instantly cowers,

"Oh Zee, I hope you feel the pain I felt" I growl, he looks at me confused, all eyes are now on me,

"I, EMILY VERONICA ASHFORD, DAUGHTER OF ALPHA ROMAN ASHFORD, FUTURE ALPHA OF THE BLOOD MOON PACK REJECT YOU, ALPHA ZACHARY XAVIER BLACK AS MY MATE!" I shout loud and clear so he can't interrupted me, he collapses to the floor in pain, he's shouting out in agony,

"Emily.....please" he whispers, I can feel the pain but it's nowhere near the pain I've felt because of him, I keep my composure so he doesn't see it's affecting me,

"Please what?...Huh?.... this is what you wanted Zee, you can play all you want with your little wh*re", tears are forming in his eyes, as he's holding his chest,    

"I love you Emily, I will never accept!" he states puffing from the pain, I can hear Celine whimper at his confession,

"You love me? funny way of showing it!,.... you'll learn to accept it! I did", I start laughing sadistically using his own words against him, an idea popped into my head, he shakes his head at me denying my rejection,

"ALPHA ZACHARY, ACCEPT MY REJECTION!" I use my Alpha tone, I have no idea if it'll work on another Alpha, it's worth a try especially with me being the White Wolf, everyone in the room freezes, Zach's eyes go wide, he just realised I have more power then any Alpha, he's having an internal battle.

"I...I, Zachary Black.......accept...." he shakes his head trying to fight it "...accept your rejection", the last part barely a whisper, he sounds defeated,

The second he finished his sentence, I felt the Mating bond snap between us, it was painful but relief followed knowing that he'll be safe, and I won't want to rip my own heart out every time he's with someone else, I hear a ear piercing scream come from Zach, I see Levi and Celine trying to help their Alpha, he's hold his chest,  

I close my eyes and start to stumble backwards as my wolf howls in agony, pain searing through me, I can't hold it in any longer the pain is too much, I'm about to scream when I feel a pair of hands touch me, I'm shocked to feel my skin is tingling with igniting sparks from their touch, I feel instantly soothed, my wolf also stops instantly, I keep my eyes shut scared to see if it's Zach, 

'It's not possible' Alex whispers,

'What's not!' I reply unsure what she's talking about,

'Mate! our Second Chance is here' as she said that the scent of lavender and sandalwood invades my nostrils, I open my eyes, I look up into his gentle brown eyes, butterflies and warmth fills me,

"Hello Love" Alpha Lucas's voice and touch relaxes me, he pulls me in and holds me, he places a kiss on my forehead, just holding me as tears of sadness and joy stream down my face, he just rests his chin on my head.

Lucas's P.O.V (Earlier in the Evening)  

'Where the hell did he go' I roll my eyes, my Beta has disappeared, leaving me standing alone at the ball, not that I care, however we're meant to be meeting the next Heir to the Blood Moon Pack this evening, I didn't even know Roman had children until he called asking to arrange a meet,

“Alpha Roman Ashford of the Blood Moon Pack accompanied by his Beta William Crawley” The gentleman at the top of stairs announces, the entire room goes silent, I may have the largest pack and be feared, but Roman is an amazing Alpha and has a lot of respect from most Alphas around, he puts his pack first and will go to great lengths to keep every single member safe, 

I was about to step forward to head to the front of the crowd to greet Roman when the gentleman spoke again,

“Also Emily Ashford Daughter of Alpha Roman Ashford and Future Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, accompanied by her future Beta Nathaniel Crawley”, my wolf Asher starts stirring, 

I realize the next Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack is Female, she looks young too, it's almost unheard of a female to run a Pack, but the females who have been Alphas in the past have made history in the wolf community,

I watch her closely as she descends the stairs, for some reason that I can't put my finger on she peaks my interests, as she gets part way down she lets out a fierce growl, making some people jump, I chuckle, she's definitely her Father's Daughter, 

I continue to watch her as she reaches the bottom and is greeted by the Alpha King, I decide to get a drink, I'll let them get settled before I greet them, I look around and still no sight of my Beta, you've got to be kidding me, 

I grab a drink and stand watching everyone from corner of the hall, I get a few glances from a few unmated she-wolves that some of the Alpha's who haven't found their mates yet have bought with them, 

With that I hear a familiar voice,

“Alpha Lucas, It’s nice to see you again” Roman puts his hand out and I shake it,

“Alpha Roman, It’s a pleasure as always” I reply, I look towards his Daughter, she's tiny her height tickles me, and oh my goddess she has curves, I fight to keep my eye on her face however half her face is covered by a mask, but her eyes are stunning, I bet she's beautiful,

My wolf is now going crazy, but I'm still at a loss to why,

'She's special, she's ours' Asher shouts in excitement, the last time he was like this was when we found our Mate,

'She might be special but she isn't ours, I can't smell her scent which would be a dead give away' I point out

'She's doing something to hide it, she must be, another way to find out is touch her', I just block him out, I need to concentrate but the thought that she was our was a pleasant one,

“I would like to introduce you to my daughter Emily, Emily this is Alpha Lucas, he has the largest pack in the United States” Roman introduced us,

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Emily” I put my hand out to shake, but it's more out of interest to see if there are sparks, she reaches out but stops, in that same moment Alpha Zachary and a young woman approaches, 

“Alpha Roman, Alpha Lucas, Miss Ashford” Alpha Zach speaks, his eyes keep flicking between all of us, however the young woman by his side is watching Emily weirdly, 

“Alpha Zachary, how are you finding your first Alpha gathering as an Alpha?” I asks to break what appears to be an awkward atmosphere, I see Zachary is about to speak when he’s interrupted,

“Do you have a problem B*tch?” the woman next to him shouts at Emily, from my point of view it's the woman who has a problem, I go to ask her what her problem is but stop, I'm interested to see how Emily handles herself,

“Alpha Zachary I suggest you control your Mate, otherwise you may be taking her home in a body bag” Emily states, I'd be lying if I said I didn't get slightly turned on by her attitude right now, what is happening to me I've only known the woman 5 minutes, 

I watch Roman place a hand on her shoulder, she must be fiery for him to try and prevent a scene, I smile and chuckle internally,

“EXCUSE ME! ARE YOU THREATENING ME!” the woman calls out again, my goddess just shut up already your giving me a headache, she starts moving towards Emily when Zachary grabs her arm to try and control her,

I notice a few people looking now, I look at Emily she's grinning at her and chuckles, the woman pulls through Zachary's  grip and is about to slap her, my instincts to protect her kicks in instantly, I step in between them and take the hit, not that it hurt, but now I'm furious, 

'She really was about to hurt what's ours'  Asher growls,

'Whoa man slow down, we don't know that for sure'

The woman looks horrified when she realises what happened,

 “How disrespectful. That is no way to speak to a future Alpha, or no way to act in the presence of Alpha’s, SUBMIT!”  I use my Alpha tone, she bows her head in submission, 

"Alpha Lucas..... I...I am so sorry th...that slap wasn't mea...meant for you, I didn't know she was a future Alpha" she scrambles to say,

"Don't you dare play dumb with me! Alpha Zachary get your Mate out my sight!" I demand, Goddess know what I'll do to her if she says or does anything else,

"I apologise for her behaviour" Alpha Zachary says grabbing her arm clearly embarrassed by her actions,

"You owe Miss Ashford an apology!" he says through gritted teeth, I hear a chuckle come from Emily, making me grin slightly in amusement, this girl is special Asher is definitely right about that,

"No apology needed, if she thinks she can take on an Alpha then I accept her challenge......" she pauses smiling at this woman, I wait in anticipation as what she is about to say,

".....let me see, how about to the death?" she suggests mocking her,  I instantly feel a little uneasy but as a full blooded Alpha she has nothing to worry about, 

"NO.....that won't be necessary Miss Ashford I mean no disrespect, I will deal with her punishment myself" Alpha Zachary was quick to say, not surprising his mate wouldn't stand a chance,

"Okay I would do the same for my MATE, I understand Zee", I notice a look in her eye of panic and Alpha Zachary becomes slightly stiffened but no one says anything, so I just brush it off and think nothing of it,

I look behind Emily and see a man approaching, he wraps his arms around her waist, then turns her around, he lifts her up and spins her in the air making her chuckle and squeal, jealousy pangs through my chest, knowing my wolf was wrong about her, I'm slightly pissed at my wolf for giving me false hope, 

"Hello Princess" he says to her putting her down, I can't keep my eyes off them,

"Hello Handsome!" she replies and they both chuckle, My wolf is growling at the back of my head, now I know we're going crazy,

"This must be your Mate?" I ask, she look straight at me and the Man answers for her,

"No, I wish...." he wraps one arm around her waist pulling her closer to him"...I'm her Beta though, I'm Nate" he places his hand out to shake my hand, I do the polite thing and shake his and smile at him,  

I could hear a very low growl coming from Alpha Zachary, what the hell is his problem, I only hear it because I'm stood right next to him and because I'm not your usual Alpha, no one else seemed to of heard it so I don't say anything, 

"I'm sorry I just assumed you were her mate, Miss Ashford do you have a Mate?" I ask her, I notice everyone is watching her weirdly, and she seems slightly uncomfortable, only slightly though barely noticeable, I feel guilty for asking,

"I did, he rejected me" she says out right keeping her eyes focused on mine, "...do you?" she asks, Who in their right mind would reject her!,  pain fills my chest, from her asking the same question back which was only fair,

"I'm truly sorry, however one man's loss is another man's gain, as for my mate she died not long after I found her" pain filled my voice I tried to hide it but it was evident, 

"I'm sorry Alpha Lucas" she says, I notice her eye's start filling up, she wouldn't feel my pain unless there was some type of connection, curiosity is getting the better of me now,

"Alpha Roman May I have a word with you please? in private", I address Alpha Roman, he nods in response, we leave the hall and head to the gardens,

"What can I help you with Alpha Lucas" Alpha Roman asks, 

"Your Daughter is A firecracker, I like her attitude and how she handles herself, she's a credit to you" I reply stalling what I really want to talk about,

"Why thank you, she's definitely born to lead and doesn't let anyone walk over her" he chuckles, we talk briefly about our Pack and the business we conduct together, when the conversation dies down Roman gives me a fatherly look, one I know too well,

"....Lucas why don't you tell me why you really wanted to talk privately", I let out a sigh,

"As you know, I lost my Mate not long after I found her...." he cuts me off,

"I'm not making Emily marry or take a chosen Mate if that's what your thinking!" He states, 

"Oh Goddess no, I would never ask such a thing, what type of guy do you think I am?" I reply slightly taken back by his statement,

"I'm sorry Lucas, I know you're not that type of bloke, but I can never be to careful with my only child and Daughter" he says,

"Well the thing is I think Emily might be my Second Chance Mate....." and once again I'm interrupted by someone, I look in the direction of the voice and see Nate, 

"ALPHA ROMAN COME QUICK, ALPHA ZACHARY HAS EMILY IN THE LIBRARY!" as soon as he finished, we both ran as fast as we could, Roman told Nate to find his Beta,

As I approached the library the scent of Strawberry and Cream overwhelmed my senses, I slammed the door open, I saw Alpha Zachary had Emily pinned against the pillar and was about to mark our Mate, 

Asher took over and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck throwing him across the room, we quickly check he didn't mark her; luckily he hadn't, we turn back to him Asher stalks up to him, we grab him off the floor then pin him against the wall by his throat, we growl at him, his eye are also red but there isn't much he can do about it I'm much stronger than he is,

"Alpha Lucas please release him" she asks in her sweet voice, I feel a hand on my shoulder and feel myself automatically relax, I do as she asks and Zachary falls to his knees, I chuckle to myself at how pathetic he is, 'Who the hell does he think he is trying to mark our Mate!',

I move behind her to stand next to Roman, Zach grabs his throat, then says,

"I, Zachary Xavier Black revoke my rejection and accept you, Emily Veronica Ashford as my Mate and Luna" he smiles in pleasure, 

'That Ba*tard is the mate who rejected her' I think to myself, I growl as he retracts his rejection, he's taking away what ours, 

I take it she hadn't accepted his rejection yet, but that doesn't make sense, I shouldn't be able to tell we're mates till their bond is broken,

"NOO" Emily screams, realisation hits that she wanted to accept it though, Zachary stands up, all smug, I can hear Roman growling at him! Nate and another young man come running in with Will and the woman from earlier, who I thought was Alpha Zachary's mate, wow this is really f*cked up,

The woman starts growling at Emily, I go to step forward and have a say when Roman stops me and shakes his head, to let Emily deal with it, 

With that Emily growl making everyone flinch including me, the woman instantly cowers, I have know idea who or what Emily is but she is powerful i can feel it,

"Oh Zee, I hope you feel the pain I felt" she growl, he looks at her confused, my eye are fixed to Emily making sure no one threatens or harms her, my wolf wants out but I keep him at bay, she seems to have everything under control, 

"I, EMILY VERONICA ASHFORD, DAUGHTER OF ALPHA ROMAN ASHFORD, FUTURE ALPHA OF THE BLOOD MOON PACK REJECT YOU, ALPHA ZACHARY XAVIER BLACK AS MY MATE!"  she shout loud and clear, Zachary drops straight to floor instantly,

"Emily.....please" he whispers, he's clearly in pain, I can imagine the pain having lost my own Mate, Emily appears to be holding it together the power she's carrying will make her a fierce Alpha or Luna, 

"Please what?...Huh?.... this is what you wanted Zee, you can play all you want with your little wh*re", she points out to him, I can see tears are forming in his eyes, as he holding his chest,     

"I love you Emily, I will never accept!" he states puffing from the pain, the young woman whimper at his confession, I want to rip him apart, i'm fighting my wolf for control, how dare he!

"You love me? funny way of showing it!, you'll learn to accept it! I did", my girl starts laughing sadistically, I find her fascinating, 

"ALPHA ZACHARY, ACCEPT MY REJECTION!" she uses her Alpha tone, it shouldn't of worked on another Alpha but she isn't a normal wolf that is clear now, I watch Zachary fight the urge to comply with the demand, 

"I...I, Zachary Black.......accept...." he shakes his head trying to fight it "...accept your rejection", the last part barely a whisper,

I watch the scene in front of me unfold, I feel my mate bond with her strengthen instantly, then an ear piercing scream come from Zach, my eye are focused solely on Emily Watching her every move, she starts stumbling backward I can feel her pain through the bond,

I reach my hands out and grab her arms and there's instant sparks the feeling is amazing, she is our mate I repeated over and over again in my head, 

her eyes are firmly shut, she hasn't opened them yet, I feel her relax and lean slightly in to my touch,

'I told you she's our MATE' Asher is howling in excitement,  the Moon Goddess has blessed us with a treasure, I smile from ear to ear,

She slowly opens her eyes and looks straight into mine, this is the first time I'm see her this close and without a ball mask, I was wrong she wasn't just beautiful she is so much more,  

"Hello Love" I say trying to sooth her, I pull her in to cuddle her, she fits perfectly in my embrace, I kiss her forehead and rest my chin on her head, I can feel she crying, but for a mixture of reasons, thanks to the mate bond I'm relieved to feel she wants me just as much as I want her........
