An Alpha's Rejection

Chapter 11

‘He knows Emily’ my heart skips a beat,

‘He can’t, Mom wouldn’t tell him, would she?, he must have a hunch!’ I reply, unsure whether I’m trying to convince Alex or myself, I start to panic,

I run to my room and grab my phone, I dial Mom’s number, I put the phone to my ear; hearing the dial tone, after what seems likes hours the call is finally answered,

“Emily Honey?” She answers, she sounded unsure if it was actually me,

“Hi Mom”

“Oh Honey it’s so good to hear you voice, you have no idea how much I’m missing you”, I smile I may have been upset with her but I do miss her,

“How is everyone?” I ask,

“We’re feeling lost with you, but we’re adjusting slowly, we'd love you to come back home, Levi has taken you leaving hard….” she says, my eye start watering, I didn’t want to hurt any of them,

“...but enough about us, how are you feeling? Your Father told me what happened last night, I wish I was there for you” she continues,

“Actually I’m feeling great” I lie I don’t want her feeling upset,

“Honey you don’t need to lie to me I’m your mother”

“Honestly Mom, I’m fine I promise”

“If you say so” it goes awkwardly silent, I need to just ask her,

“Mom I need to ask, you haven’t told Roman about who Zach really is have you?”

“I haven’t, I told him it was up to you to tell him, he did say he asked you, you told him Zachary was a nobody, why did you lie to him?”

“I didn’t do it to protect Zach if that’s what you think, I did it to protect you, Ian and Levi, I don’t want you guys getting hurt if this was to cause friction between the two packs”

“Oh Honey, don’t worry about us, and besides your father wouldn't do anything that would result in hurting you”, that gave me so relief, 

“Also I need to need to know what Levi knows?” I hear her sigh,

“Levi knows that you are half siblings he said he didn’t care, you’re still his baby sister regardless, he also knows you are okay, but he doesn’t know where you are or what has been happening, he’s getting agitated he wants to know but I refuse to tell him”

“Okay let’s keep it that way for now, with him being Zach’s Beta I don’t want to make it any more difficult than it already is for him”

“Okay Hon….” she’s cut of by a voice in the background

“IS THAT EMILY?” the voice demanded, I knew it was Levi,

“Honey I’ve got to go, I love you”

“NO I WANT TO TALK TO HER…..” with that the phone cuts off, he sounded distressed my eye’s fill up again,

‘You’ll see me soon’ I make a silent promise.

I’m sat on my sofa lost in my thoughts when there was a knock at the door,

“Come in” I call out, Sienna, Vincent, Oliver and Nate walk in and sit with me, Oliver and Vince naturally sit together, where as Sienna and Nate take a seat either side of me,

“How you feeling Sweetheart?” Vincent asks,

“Apart from some emotional damage, physically I feel great…” I smile, I turn the topic off me to the new couple in front if me

“…How are you?” I say in a weird girly way with a massive grin on my face looking back a forth between Vince and Oliver,

“No changing the subject” he replies, I just roll my eyes,

“How was your Alpha training?” Sienna helps change the subject ‘I love this girl!’

“It went well, I did start zoning out towards the end, but Roman had me choose my Beta and Gamma today?” the room went silent, I notice Nate and Oliver look at each other, Si lent forward,

“I love you Em, but please say you didn’t chose me” she asks almost afraid of my answer, Vincent had a slight look of worry on his face also,

“Si, I love you too, but you’re okay I didn’t chose you….” I giggle at her,

“….I’ve decided Nate and Oliver should be, they’ve trained for this their whole lives, it wouldn’t be right for anyone else to take their place....." I turn and look at Nate then Oliver,

 "......I know I’ve only known you both for less than a week, but I trust you with my life and my Pack” I look and smile at the both of them,

“Whoa, I just got chills” Sienna uttered, Vincent seemed to relax also, I watched my Beta and Gamma,

It was like watching children at Christmas with their reaction, they stood up high fiving each other, hugging, Oliver dived on Vincent and they started making out, Nate dived on me, hugging me tight repeating ‘thank you’ over and over again, 'this has made my day',

“Yep, I totally don’t feel like a fifth wheel right now” sienna mumbled, we all look at each other, then got up and dived on her laughing,

The rest over the day we just chilled in my room and had a movie marathon, we ate our weight in junk food, soon enough it was getting late,

“We’re off to bed now Sweetheart, you should too,  we all have training at 6” Vincent took great pleasure in rubbing that beauty in, everyone got up said they're 'good nights' and left except for Nate, when I closed the door behind everyone else I started getting nervous,

I turned to face him, he stood up and walked over to me, he towered over me, not that it was hard anyway, I couldn’t help but giggle,

“What’s so funny princess?” he raised an eye brow with a mischievous smile, ‘that smile’ I thought to myself, it made my heart flutter,

“Just our height difference” I pointed out, he grabs my hand and places his other hand on my waist,

‘He’s not our mate!’ Alex growled at me, I block her out, what has my MATE ever done for me!,

It was quiet for a few seconds before he broke the silence, he tilts my chin up so I’m looking at him in the eyes,

“Princess you have no idea how much being your Beta means to me, I promise I will protect you and the Blood Moon Pack to my dying breath” he smiled, I return the smile, with that he leans down, he kisses me on the forehead, ‘I so thought he was going in for a kiss’ my heart rate increased and I know he heard it, I hear him chuckle lowly,

“Goodnight Princess, get some sleep, the training we have planned for you is intense, you’re going to need all the rest you can get”, he leaves and closes the door,

‘Why do I feel guilty for wanting him to kiss me’

‘Oh I don’t know, it might have something to do with that fact HE’S NOT OUR MATE!’,  Alex shouts at me,

‘Guess what Alex, I wouldn’t be here wanting another man if OUR MATE WANTED US!’ I shout back at her, she whimpers,

‘Alex I’m sorry’

‘Whatever’ she blocks me, ‘great’ I just roll my eyes, I set my alarm for 5:30am, I get into bed, my mind drifts to Zach I slowly fall asleep,

“Emily…. Wake up…….Darlin please...” That voice it’s so familiar but my hearing is muffled,

“I need to know you’re okay Em…. please answer me?” It’s faint, who ever it is talking is struggling, almost sounding weak, I slowly open my eye,

I’m in a dark, cold, wet room but there is no door it appears to be bars I think?, I’m lent against a wall sitting down; hunched over in the moon light coming through the tiny hole in the wall which I can only assume is meant to be a window, I go to move but can’t, my wrists and ankles are chained, they're burning like a b*tch, my heart rate increases as panic sets in,

“They’re silver covered in wolfsbane Darlin” I look up to see who is talking, I can’t make out who it is I can only see a figure, my senses are all over the place, who ever it is, is in the darkest corner in here,

‘Alex what’s happening?’ I call for my wolf, there’s no reply,

‘Alex….ALEX?’. Wait! why can’t I feel my wolf,

“What’s happening, why can’t I feel or communicate with my wolf?” I ask out for anyone to answer,

“They’ve injected us with wolfsbane” the voice says sounding more clearer this time,

“Where am I?” panic is heard in my voice

“Darlin calm down, we’ll be fine, our Packs will be looking for us, I need you to stay calm, we were captured on our date”, ‘on our date’ I’m confused, a minute ago I was in bed, I wasn’t on a date with anyone, suddenly there is a slam of a door and the lights come on blinding me,

It takes a couple of minutes for my eyes to adjust, I look towards the entrance and realise I’m in a cell, with in seconds a man in a mask comes in with a silver knife, chuckling sadistically, he comes towards me, he looks me in the eyes, his are cold and empty, sending an unpleasant chill down my spine,

“Just as pretty as I remember” the man runs his fingers along my cheek they flash red, ‘he’s an Alpha’,

“GET AWAY FROM HER!” a growl comes from the other side other, I look over and tears fill my eyes my heart is breaking, sat opposite me is a beaten and bloodied Zach, I feel like I can’t breath

"Zee..." it's barely heard,

“Keep your hands off my MATE!” he’s watching me like a hawk, worry written all over his face,

“Your Mate!” the man laughs,

“No, no, no, no, no, Alpha Zachary you have it all wrong, you see Alpha Emily here is my mate! Or she will be once I mate and mark her as mine, she will be my Luna!” he laughs again, I feel sick to my stomach panic washes over me I feel scared,

I look down and notice my tummy is slightly swollen, i don't think to much into it and look straight back at Zach,

“OVER MY DEAD BODY” Zach shouts at him while trying to break loose to no luck,

“That can be arranged..." he's enjoying every minute of this

"…. Oh and don’t worry I’ll take good care of your pup” the man runs the knife up Zach's arm and over his chest, with that Zach looks straight at me and mimes the words ‘I love you’,

The mask man draws the knife back and rams the blade into Zach's chest piercing him in the heart, I scream in horror, I can feel his pain

“ZAACCCHHHHHHAAAARRRRYYYY”

I shot up in bed, my door slams open, Roman runs in to me checking me over, I’m panting, sweating, tears streaming down my face, behind him is Sienna, Vincent, Oliver, Nate, Will and Elijah, all carrying a worried and panic look,

“Emily what happened?” Roman says pointing at my wrists, there are burns but I'm already healing, but they’re there, how?

“Roman she just mind linked the entire pack! that's over 900 wolves, that's impossible!” Will speaks,

“Not for her it isn't, Flower tell me what happened?” Roman comforts me,

“He killed him Dad, He killed Zach….” I cry harder, he pulls me in and holds me,

"Who did?" he replies, 

“I don't know I didn't see his face, I was there with Zach we'd been captured, the man wanted me, he killed the only person standing in his way ..... " my tears just keep falling,

".....my Mate"  I know Zach has hurt me, but I don't want him to die, 

"It sounds like she's tapped into the power of premonition " Elijah points out, 'what!'

If that's the future I just saw, I need to tell Roman who my mate is, 

"Dad I need to tell you, my mate is Alpha Zachary Black"........
