MEMORY PART 8: CALM BEFORE THE STORM

751 Words
JEENA'S P. O. V It was the day of the party of which was I to attend and Dane was accompanying me. He said that he would arrive at 5 but I arrived a little earlier due to my closeness of the host. Time flew fast, it was almost 5:30 and Dane showed no sign as yet. I  tried to call and disappointment fell heavy on my shoulders when his phone took me straight to voicemail. I wore my happy mask as I mingled with everyone around me. It was almost 7 when my phone began to vibrate with Dane's name on the screen. "Hello" I said, disappointment dripping from my voice, "Hey babe" he replied normal as ever. "Are you still coming?" I asked without any hope. "Yes babe, what's the address again?" he replied. "Really? I'll send you my location from Google maps on  w******p" I said full of excitement and without waiting for a reply I hung up. I eagerly awaited his arrival accompanied by a younger cousin. "That's him" I said in excitement. "Handsome, nice catch" said my cousin. I introduced him to everyone I knew as we entered. The evening was going well and my heart beating with happiness. After socializing with the other guest and having our meals we decided to dance. His moves were smooth and graceful, he was an excellent dancer. I on the other hand was a complete failure with my two left feet but with him I moved to the rhythm of the beat. It was amazing, being so close to him and making more memories. He became my life line, I loved this man more than I love myself. Looking into his captivating eyes as I danced with him made me realise how much I want to one day marry him and spend eternity with him, I want this soul to be entangled with mine for every lifetime that we have to live. But my hope was to high and my dreams to big to soon as the next event which to place that night made me fall. A far relative came up to us as we were dancing and started to push Dane around. Threatening him to never hurt my feelings or he will deal with him, didn't the b@s*ard realise that he, himself was hurting my feelings. I took Dane out of the dance floor immediately. Fear grew fast and deep inside of me as I was sure embarrassment grew in him. Who wouldn't break up with a person after an event such as this took place. I have already said it and I will say it a thousand times more " Dane became my life line" so if he leaves me now I will be a complete disaster. From the height of my hope for spending eternity with him, I got to experience the saying "The higher you are, the harder you fall" on first hand. "Are you okay?" I asked concern full in my voice. " Yes" he replied along with a small reassuring smile". "Are you sure?" I asked again, my eyebrows raised with worry. " Yes I'm absolutely fine, there's nothing for you to stress yourself about" he said. We sat for a while having snacks, he seemed fine but I was not. The night just took a turn and all the happiness that I have felt earlier on now turned to concern. " Do you want to dance?" he asked as an 80's song came on. I quite surprised that he wants to go back onto the dance floor after that absolutely horrifying incident. However, I didn't want to turn down the opportunity for two main reasons. One, I didn't want him to think that I'm embarrassed by him and that incident which took place, because I was not, in fact I was embarrassed about being related to that man. Two I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to be held in his hands and looking into those intoxicating eyes as we moved to the beat of the music. It was around 11pm when we left separately. ' Hey babe, I really hope that you are okay' I texted him on the way home. 'Of Course babe, I enjoyed dancing and spending time with you, thank you for inviting me tonight.' I read his instant reply. ' Thank you for coming tonight, I'm exhausted sweet dreams' I texted him back. ' Goodnight, sweet dreams' his text lit up my screen and my heart.
