"Why would you say that to seniors? Are you crazy?" Jenny said as soon as the bell rang for the end of class. Now it's lunch time. Honestly we just had a free day. For my first three classes we did nothing.
"Maybe I am or maybe I did something right for once? I mean come on! He's not that hot." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
Haley laughed "Ya sure keep telling yourself that Ira. Have you seen him? Like, really seen him!"
Seeing her fangirl over Trevor was funny. Halz never really fangirls over anyone. Unless it's a famous boy she knows she can't have. But when it's someone she most likely could get she didn’t really ever do this.
I got my salad and water and went to our table in the back of the cafeteria. The cafeteria is kinda big. Three walls are glass while the fourth is cement. So natural light is really the only kind of light here anyway. I mean ya we have lights for when it's a stormy day or parent teacher conferences or any other activities the school may need them for.
Round tables that only fit enough for eight people. Three lunch lines, plus a little shop where you can buy candy or clothing. One time last year during winter I bought a wool blanket. Boy did it keep me warm. I loved that blanket I took it all over. Well maybe not everywhere but i did keep it in my car for a month in winter. It was a bad month. So much snow.
"How's the salad?" Scott asked, taking his seat next to me and Jenny. His plate consisted of junk food and a rib-a-qu. Trust me they are amazing! It's exactly what it sounds like. A boneless piece of rib with BBQ sauce on it inside a sub bun.
"Damn I wish I knew we were having that today. And it's good." I replied back by putting ranch on my salad. Scott scrunched up his face and stuck out his tongue.
"Mira how the hell do u eat that rabbit food? I mean you need meat. That seriously cannot get you through the day."
I roll my eyes and just when I look up Jack is right there. ‘Great. What the hell does he want?’ I thought to myself. He smiled and sat down.
"Hey guys. What's up?” Jack's not a bad guy and he is sweet but what makes me not like the kid is that has been obsessed with me since after James left. Who’s James you ask? Well that was my old boyfriend. I really miss him. I loved him a lot and he was the best boyfriend I’ve had. I hope he's ok. I remember when he and I were in his backyard. He had a swing set and we would go out whenever we wanted. He would push me and we would talk. I miss him so much.
"Mira, have you taken that English test yet?" Jack asked, taking me back to reality. f**k I'd rather think of how much I miss James right now.
"Um no, not yet I still have to take it." I sighed. Then I remembered my physics test. s**t I didn't get to study for my English quiz! I don't even remember having one.
"I'm gonna go. I'll see you guys later." Jack said with a smile. Before he left he winked at me then he was gone.
"Pig." I scuffed and threw the rest of my lunch away.
"Mira what are you doing?" Aj asked when he sat down with his lunch. "Getting my notes out for English." Wasn't it obvious?
"You know he was just f*****g with you right? That test isn’t until next friday. We JUST had one the other day." Aj, my sweet friend, thank you!
That little s**t! Great, not only did he make me get my notes out but he made me throw away my damn lunch!
I signed in aggravation. "That little ass whole!" I whispered to myself.
Scott nudged my shoulder softly and handed me the rib-a-qu, a cookie and a pop. I smile up at him and he winks back knowing it's my way of saying thank you.
The bell rang signaling the end of lunch. "We gotta go. See you in English?" Scott said as he got up. I nodded "Ya I'll be there in a little." They left as I finished my rib-a-qu.
I should pay more attention when it comes to lunch. This sandwich is so delicious!
Grabbing my cookie and pop I got up and turned around. Walking didn't last very long before I bumped into someone and dropped my cookie and pop. Never, and I mean never, drop a pop can. It went all over the floor and on my clothes. Thank god my books are in my bag!
"I'm so sorry, I've been having a ruff day." I started to explain, feeling bad for not watching where I was going for the second time today. What was up with me? This really was not like me.
"No it's cool, I wasn't watching where I was going. Are u ok?" A male voice said.
Wait, that voice sounds like... "Jack."
"Good thing I have extra napkins. Here let me help you." I looked up as he took the napkins. Yep it definitely is Jack, great.
"No, you go to class. It's my mess so I should clean it. Thanks though." I really did not want to be near him. He's already made my day bad. I don't want it to get worse.
Jack shrugged. "Ok. Um I'll tell Mr. Lee that you needed to change." he said and then walked away.
Not even a minute later I hear a "Hey." and feet approaching me.
I look up and I see Trevor. You know he's not bad looking. Jet black hair, ice green eyes. Nice body, I mean his biceps are big and he looks like he would have an eight pack. Probably no tan lines. Unless he just has that color skin naturally.
"Mira?" Trevor asked, tilting his head slightly with a small grin.
I shook my head. "Sorry uh ya I'm ok. I have to go get some more napkins so I can clean this." I said as I stood up making sure I didn't slip.
"No, let me clean this and also get you a new pop and cookie. Really I insist." I was about to say no but then I saw Jack out by the doors. I guess he was waiting for me. f**k!
"Um ok." I said looking up at his beautiful green eyes. I don't want to use Trevor but honestly I have no choice, Jack is really starting to creep me out more each passing second.
"Do you have anything to change into?"
I looked down and frowned. "Yes, my gym shirt." he scrunched up his face. "It's clean!" I exclaimed. He smiled as he reached for the root beer and then a peanut butter cookie.
"What do you want?" Trevor nudged my shoulder playfully. I grabbed the same as him. "Nice choice." he said smiling. He paid for them. I said thank you and then we parted ways. Trevor seems nice but so did Jack when I first met him.
'Remember Mira, not every guy is crazy like Jack.’ I remind myself.
Walking into the girls restroom I put my pop and cookie down and start looking for my shirt and sweats. I huff and throw my bag. Nothing.
"Hey. Need some help?" Haley asked, walking into the bathroom. Smiling, I nodded. She pulled out a jean skirt and a black V-neck shirt. I raised an eyebrow looking at the outfit.
"Oh hell no." I Backed away but she grabbed me and pulled me back into the bathroom. She’s freakishly strong!
Three minutes later I'm walking to class in it. ‘Bitch.’ God I probably look like a slut. I got some mean looks from girls and some of the guys just grinned at me while the few nice guys just smiled and looked away. f*****g Haley. The one guy that I really didn't want looking at me did as soon as I walked into class. Jack. He whistled and winked at me making everyone turn and look. God I've never been this embarrassed.
There was one day in fifth grade I wore a cute black v-neck and had overalls on. I thought I looked good but I guess everyone else didn't think so. The girls laughed and well most of the ass whole guys did too. Haley and a few of my older friends back then said they were jealous cause I looked better than them but I didn’t believe it. Today feels so much worse!
"Mira, why are you late?" Mr. Lee asked as I took my seat next to Jack. Yes, in this class I sit next to this ass.
"I ran into Jack and spilled my pop on myself. I cleaned up the mess then changed my outfit. I thought Jack was going to tell you?" I asked, taking out my book.
"Oh s**t. She's right Mr. Lee. I forgot to tell you." Damn straight you little d**k.
"Ok well you still get a two minute tardy. Now you have the entire hour to yourselves. Be quiet if you talk." he said and started sleeping.
I just put my headphones in and read, I was in no mood to talk with anyone after all that.
