Chapter Five

755 Words
In my last two classes, we did nothing. So I just skipped. Now I'm at home. Nothing is better than living in a three story house, not including the basement, that is surrounded by woods. Looking out at the trees on a sunny, warm day is nice. Let me tell you about the house. My bedroom is the only one being used on the top floor. Then two guest rooms. One bathroom in each room. My room and bathroom are the biggest. My parents have the same size and my little sister and brother have a smaller room with bathrooms, plus a game room on the second floor that has its own little kitchen for if we get hungry while snacking. The first floor has two guest rooms, a bathroom in each plus one next to the kitchen. The kitchen has an island made of a black and white marble with a little splash of rose gold in some places to give it color. The sink, fridge, and stove are all stainless steel. The drawers are on the top and some in the counters. They are all black with rose gold handles. My mother likes rose gold if you can't tell. The floor is a white tile with some really nice shine to it. If you take a left after the stove, you find the family room has a couch that makes an arch around the fireplace. Above that is a 65" 4K flat screen T.V. The floor is dark colored wood and has many shelves for our movies and games. Two nice rocking recliners that massage and heat up. My dad has a “Man cave” to get away from everything sometimes. He has meetings there as well with his work colleagues (really his friends) and mom. We have a four car garage, and once I get one, I'll only put it in the garage in winter and bad storms. Laying on my full sized bed, I look up at my ceiling. You know those glow in the dark stars and planets that stick to things? I have millions of them on my ceiling. No, I'm not scared of the dark. I just like looking at them. Also, counting them helps me sleep when I'm anxious. "Mira!" my little sister Ashley yelled. Ashley is well, She's just perfect, and the devil mixed into one. Beautiful and tall for a twelve year old. Dark curly blonde hair. Dark blue eyes and skinny. Not the bad kind. She's a healthy kind of skinny. "What squirt?" I laughed as she ran in and plopped down on my bed. "Do you think we can go shopping? Like right now? I really need a new bathing suit and other summer clothes." Her eyes held so much hope I had to nod my head. I hate disappointing my family. That's one reason why I do so well in school. The other is I need to get out of this place! I swear if I don't get away from Jack I’ll lose my mind. Out of nowhere, Ashley squealed and pulled me off my bed. She's lucky I have fast reflexes. "Mom! Mira’s taking me shopping!" She yelled when we got to the last step. "Ashley, I have to get ready first." I told her. She pouted and then sighed. "Hurry up, please, Mira." Well only because I need to get clothes also. I run up into my bathroom and do my eyes and brush my hair again, and I can't forget my purse, then run back to Ashley. I noticed my mom next to her. She had her car keys and purse. "I have something to do, so I'll drop you off." she told me already halfway to the car. We all got in, and then we left. Twenty minutes later, we pulled into a car dealership. Ashley has a big smile on her face, and so does my mom. Ok? "What are we doing here?" I asked, thinking Ashley isn't even 16 yet. So she doesn't need a car. "I told you I had somewhere to go. I just thought I would do this first, then go to the mall with you." That makes sense. I shrugged it off as mom pulled into the car wash that the dealership had. "So Mira, your dad and I were talking. We think that now that you are 16 and have your license, we will get you a car." My mouth opened wide. "Any car you want, we will get it."
