Chapter Six

903 Words
Looking out at all the cars, I don't see what I want. No way in hell am I getting a minivan or anything like that. Now, what I want is a red 2014 Ford GT 5.0 Convertible Mustang. "Hi, how may I help you?" a male voice asked as I looked for my car. I turn around and see Scott's dad. Well, foster dad, really. Ya, I forgot to tell you he was adopted. "Hey, Mr. Holland, how are you doing?" He shrugged and gave me his 100-watt smile. "Now Mira, how many times do I have to tell you? It's Jerry to you, little missy. You're Scott's best friend. There is no need to be formal." Smiling, I nodded and looked at the cars, then back to Jerry. "Ya, I know it's just a habit.” It really is a habit. I swear it's not my fault. “Um, I was wondering if you had a Red 2014 Ford GT 5.0 Convertible Mustang? I mean, it doesn't have to be red, but it's just the color I would prefer." I asked with a big smile. Jerry knows how I am with my cars. I don't know a lot about them, but I know what I want, and Jerry will give me a good car and an awesome deal. "I think we just might have what you're looking for. I'll go check for you." He said with the same smile on. "Thank you, Mr. I mean Jerry." Gosh, I keep wanting to say Mr. Holland. My parents raised me to be respectful to my elders. Jerry left me alone to look just in case he didn't have it. I saw some nice ones but I didn't really want them. "What are you doing here?" Scott's voice sounded far away behind me. So I turned around to see Scott running to me. Shirtless. Ok, so he's like a brother to me, but man, he's cute. "Well, I'm looking for a car. You know my 2014 Ford GT 5.0 Convertible Mustang." Scott has known my dream car for as long as he's known me. "Oh ya, I think I saw a navy blue one. It's a beauty, Ira. Hey!" He yelled, rubbing his arm from where I punched it. "What the hell!" I glared at him. "He's mine." Scott gave me a funny look. "He?" I rolled my eyes. "The car, you dumbbell." Scott smiled and crossed his arms as he leaned on the hood of a truck. "What's its name?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. His tone mocking. Thinking for a little, then blurted, "EJ." and stuck out my tongue. Scott, being the weirdo he is, poked my tongue. "Ewww! Scott!!" I yelled as I rubbed my tongue with my hand. "You taste like sweat!" I told him as he laughed his ass off. He was literally rolling on the ground laughing. d**k. "Hey, Mira. I have some bad news." Jerry said as he walked next to me. He looked at Scott, tilted his head, and then looked back at me. "What's with him?" Jerry's face was all scrunched up. I can tell he was trying not to laugh. Honestly, I kinda feel like Scott went a little too far with that. "I'll let him fill you in later. What's this bad news?" I asked. "We have your car," Yes!!! "But" But? Why does there have to be a but? "She's navy blue. Also, 46,568 dollars. Not to mention the gas to fill her up." "Him. And ok. I'll talk to my parents. Thanks, Jerry." "No problem, Mira." I left them to go talk to my parents, and you'll never guess what they said. "Yes, we will get the car for you." Like, wtf? When has this ever happened??? Never! My mother laughed slightly. Her face was going soft, and she looked at me. Love in her eyes and maybe a little pride. “Mira you have been doing such a great job around the house and in school. You deserve this, my sweet pea. Now let Jerry and I get you all set up!” I was jumping with joy!!! Literally. I couldn't stop bouncing till I had the keys in my hand and was in the driver's seat! Sitting behind the wheel of my new car, I feel so great! Now I can go and do whatever I want! I don't have to ask for a ride or walk. I'll probably keep walking every now and then, though. Gotta keep up my cardio and be in shape. “Mira! Be safe driving and have fun at the mall with your sister.” Jerry said, waving at us. “I will! Thank you for the help, Jerry!” Now, on my way to the mall with my little sister and new car! On the way to the mal, I got a call from a friend and decided to take a little detour. “Hey Ash, I wanna stop at a friend's real fast. That cool?” Ashley shrugged her little shoulders and then went back to looking out the window “Ya that's fin, Ira. The Mall doest close for a few more hours anyway.” “Cool just wanted to make sure you were cool with it since we were supposed to go right there. Thank you.” I keep my eyes on the road and head to my Friend Netawin.
