Alistair left the cold waters with the fish still clutched within his jaws, he shook his body in an attempt to dry off his fur and began to consume his prize.
'Seriously that was so cool, you need to teach me' Jason mind linked with Alistair and the others, as he swam to join his alpha at the waters edge.
'Even I have to admit that was impressive, looks like we lost' Sasha chimed in.
'lost what?' Alistair asked as he continued to crunch on the fish. Of course he had no knowledge of the competition, he simply wished to partake in the fishing.
'Nevermind' Sasha huffed as she dived under the water again in search of a larger prize.
'I believe it was pure luck he caught it Jay' Ethan called out as he opted to swim closer to the falls.
Jason was about to respond when he saw a small glimmer if blue light coming from between the trees. He edged closer for a better look when he recalls his sisters nagging, but his curiousity got the better of him. Taking a sneaky look back to make sure no eyes were on him he entered the forest. For a moment it seemed as though the light had vanished, when a small orb of blue flames appear directly infront of his snout. despite its appearance it gave off no heat, instead Jason felt the air around his nose go icy cold. The strange flame moved swiftly but with elegance as it began to dart around him, creating a soft trail behind it. Almost like a curious creature investigating something new and unknown, as it would flinch away at his slightest movement.
Jason had been taught about the other creatures of the forest, but couldn't recall ever hearing of a curious blue orb. His first thought had been fairy but there was no physical form to it and as the light began to circle him again he to began to inspect it with wide open eyes, shifting his head from side to side as it passed by. He didn't feel in any danger, it seemed pretty harmless to him and his wolf wanted to play. The glowing entity darted deeper into the forest the moment Jason lowered his body to pounce and of course he had to chase it.
The light seemed to be letting Jason keep pace as if enjoying this game of tag, as the wolf behind it playfully darted around the forest trees.
Jason was a whisker away from the light when it veered up into the canopy above and it disappeared from view. It was in that moment he became aware of the smell surrounding him. The smell of burnt ash mixed with a hint of blueberry and mint.
It was an unusual mix particularly in this part of the forest, with a rustling alerting him back to the canopy above his mind landed on one word, Witch.
The others heard the silent call as they notice Jason is no longer with them. Sasha calls out to him with no response and the panic sets in. 'where is he?' she screams to Ethan.
'This way' Alistair calls as he catches Jason's scent in the wind. All try to call out to the missing wolf as they rush through the trees, but they seem to be unable to reach him.
As Sasha glides ahead she catches the ashen smell alerting the others. 'Witch ahead' no sooner had she relayed the message when she came across the scene ahead.
He brother a wolf stood 6 feet from a figure wrapped from head to toe in numerous furs, only its golden eyes could be seen peaking beneath the sheep skin hood. A strange flash of light enveloped them and when darkness returned the figure was gone.
