Chapter 1 “ Sir, I… I '' She stuttered in a cold voice. Her hands were shaking like she had an essential tremor. The man peeked at her as she leaned on the wall with her head slightly bowed. He giggled and fired a murderous shot at her and she jerked. “ … How dare you? Listen, I will kill you if you say one more word! You are mine and I own you! You ninnyhammer! “ He scowled. She froze. The man’s menacing voice startled her. “ I… I… will do it sir! I promise not to let you down”. She almost bit her lips with her sharp incisors as she muttered those words. The man shrugged, nodding his head affirmatively to her compliance. “ Did you read the contract very well? I won't condone any flimsiness. Now, take this and read it carefully”, the man threw the brown envelope at her face and said in a threatening voice, “ The day you flout a rule of this contract, then I'll murder you with my bare hands” Withney Voss was transfixed in fear as she picked up the brown envelope that was sealed meticulously to read. She read the first page, which contained information about the man she was to get married to. At the sight of his name, her heart fluttered. His name is Ethan Antonio. He is 25 years old and the heir of the Sterling Group. Withney’s sharp eyes ran through the contract and her heart whispered the venomous content to her heart. She could not ask further questions as her boss’s secretary from the office had read all this information to her yesterday. Whitney flipped to the next page to read the rules of the contract properly. The number one rule almost got her screwed out. It stated that she must destroy what the young CEO had labored for within the period of the one-year contract. How cruel! She was just an innocent young girl who could not harm a moth. What the cacademon was asking of her was pretty demanding. How could she possibly exhibit such cruelty to a man whom she had never met? Damn! That night was the worst night ever for poor Withney Voss. She stood panting like a wild beast in the old man’s room. The weird feeling in her veins and blood being transformed into that of a zombie got her shrieking internally. She raised her face slightly from the floor and her gaze met with that of the man. His eyes were blood-red, and his body scorched with the furnace of rage, causing a wave of terror to irrigate Withney’s spine. “ I can see you’re done reading. Now listen to me carefully, the young man you will be getting married to will be here tomorrow morning to see you. You must keep the contract a secret from him. No one must find this out, understand?” The man threatened. “ Yes sir, I understand! “ Whitney replied. Her hands were drenched in apprehension. With a wave of the hands, the man dismissed her, and she left his room in a sly uneasiness. Well, that was her malevolent and vicious boss; the Father of all evil. Lucifer was his son at midnight, yet the angels bore his armor in the brightness of the day. Whitney had known him for just five months as a housekeeper who had worked with him since she got dismissed unfairly from Melcom Corporation. As she strode down from her boss’s room to her room, she kept pondering about what the man she was going to marry looked like. Her nervousness made her hit her right toe on one of the couches in the elegant living room of the gigantic mansion. “ Ahhh” she screamed, but suddenly covered her mouth. The other Stewards must not find out about her profound secret. Lurking, she tiptoed clumsily in pain to her room with blood oozing from her toe. Insomnia had never been Whitney’s thing, but that night, she kept turning and tossing on the bed while the other maids were fast asleep. Many thoughts kept flooding her mind. Whitney was offered $100 million for a single contract, yet her peace of mind was ruined. She could see the dark silhouettes of men and women whispering death in her ears as she lay on the bed. She froze internally and almost screamed her late parent's names. Squatting on the bed, she covered her ears with the pillow on the bed, shutting her eyes in terror. It was Mrs Elena, the Nanny. “ Get up and go downstairs. Someone’s waiting for you” Mrs. Elena said in a harsh but friendly tone. Whitney rubbed her eyes rashly, not remembering anything from last night. Suddenly, the mayheming thought trained her mind and she abruptly jumped out of bed. Mrs. Elena was astonished, but there was no need to be inquisitive now. She glanced at Whitney in amazement and said rashly, “ You have five minutes to go downstairs. Now! “ Her high-pitched voice echoed as she slammed the door and left. Whitney quickly narrowed her eyes to the large wall clock situated on the wall of the room. It was 6:57 am. “ Is he here already? “ Her heart fluttered. Quickly, she walked briskly to the widow to see if there was a car parked in the building, but there was none aside from her boss's four sophisticated cars. “ Hmph… I'm such a mess” she muttered to herself. Quickly, she rushed to the wardrobe to change her nightwear but was suddenly interrupted by a phone call. She rushed back to bed to get her phone. It was the imp, her boss. Whitney almost died of shock. She took the phone, quivering. “ Hi… Hello sir! “ Her mellifluous but shaky voice echoed. “ Whitney! “ the man’s murderous hoarse baritone brawled. Whitney’s hands reflexively ran to her lips. There was a pink silence on the phone but Whitney’s moaning almost overshadowed the room. “ Get your ass down now! I swear to God, I will rip your life off you” he yelled. Whitney quickly ran down without changing her nightwear. Someone was downstairs awaiting her arrival. “ Get into the car! ”the voice commanded.
