Ava's POV When I woke, the sunlight spilled through the window, soft and warm against the cool morning air. My gaze drifted to the plain white ceiling first, then slowly lowered. Nora was there, sitting beside me, her hand gently holding mine. My wolf sniffed her, immediately, calming at her familiar scent. “Ava… thank goodness you’re awake. How do you feel?” she murmured, worry etched into every line of her face. I tried to speak, but my throat was dry, my body heavy. My wolf growled softly in frustration, feeling helpless and a bit restless. Nora nudged Richard, who was standing close by. “Richard, please go fetch the doctor,” she said firmly, though her eyes never left mine. Minutes later, the doctor confirmed I was stable.
