Pent Up Feelings

996 Words
Racing to her Uncle Terence house, Amelia was feeling anxious. She had a new found hope that things might work out with Damien, due mostly to Cassandra's predictions, but she also had been hoping he would approach her to talk while at her pack to attend an alliance meeting with her father and brother. Instead he stared at her while she preformed a small spell (taught to her by Cas), and punched a pack member for talking to her. All while still avoiding an actual conversation with her. Amelia had learned after shifting the first time that she could harness small amounts of magic. So far she could preform some spells with practice, and she had inadvertently slowed time a few times. The first time she knocked a glass of water off the kitchen counter. In shock she held out her hands toward the falling glass. The glass started descending so slow Isabella was able to grab the glass mid-air, before it shattered on the ground. Her father called in the Elders, who told him there were several werewolves born with abilities beyond what was known to be normal enhanced werewolf abilities. Isabella and Amelia being 2 of less than 100 currently known to the Council. Snapping out of her daydream Amelia saw Cassandra was coming close to her uncle's adorable two-story home. Her uncle Terence, and his mate, enjoyed living a homestead lifestyle on the outskirts of town. Their home was surrounded by dense woods, not able to be seen till you got close. The couple only had one young daughter, Olivia, who turned 9-years-old last month. "Can we make it a quick trip today Cas? I was hoping Damien might try to talk to me before he leaves for home." Amelia asked Cassandra. Chuckling lightly Cassandra shrugged. "I'll try Milly, but you know I don't have many people that indulge my obsession with history. Uncle Terri never disappoints when it comes to interesting historical facts about all different supernatural species." Cassandra said. Amelia rolled her eyes, sighing dramatically. Cassandra and her uncle had a tendency to converse for hours about historical facts, events and beliefs. "You should talk to Damien first if he won't approach you." Cassandra said before opening the drivers door. She walked up to Amelia's aunt Lashonda waiting to greet them on the porch and hugged her tightly. Amelia took a deep breath, putting a smile on her face and joining her friend. Three hours later, Amelia was sitting at her uncle's kitchen island while Cassandra and uncle Terri went on and on about witches magical signatures. She had half tuned them out while munching on a homemade cinnamon roll. "You see a few dark witches have the power to mask or hide their magical signatures, making it hard to know when they a cast spell." Cassandra told Terri, picking off a piece of her cinnamon roll. "Light witches do not have a reason to hide our signatures. It would be a useless power for us. There is more about it in chapter 23." "I can not wait to get into this one! Thanks Cassi." Uncle Terri said excitedly about the book he traded Cas for honey. Amelia made the excuse that she had to go back to the packhouse and wash up before dinner was served. Cassandra was busy explaining the book she brought uncle Terri she decided to stay longer. Amelia was walking onto the back patio after making her way through the woods from uncle Terri's house. She had her AirPods in her ears since she had taken a leisure stroll home, when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. Turning around and pausing her music Amelia saw Eric standing before her. "You keep popping up out of nowhere on me today." Amelia half joked. In reality it was weird, besides being co-workers and an occasional work-out session, they did not see eachother often. "Yeah, sorry about that." Eric mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was just going to let you know Chris said he is postponing training by an hour tomorrow morning, he was going to mindlink you but I told him I would since he seemed in a hurry. I was just about to link you then start with my team, but I saw you walk by. I thought I would just tell you in person." Eric said. That made sense, Chris was the Captain of their warrior team, while Amelia was the female lead and Eric the male lead. Amelia was about to say 'thanks' and walk inside but she heard a low, dangerous growl coming from a ways behind her. She knew by now who that sexy growl belonged too, her mate. Amelia was tired of the jealousy, they had not even spoke a word to eachother yet! Winnie was just as frustrated, knowing his wolf half, wanted them, but his human half, didn't. Go give him a piece of our mind! Winnie growls out. Gladly! Amelia responded. Amelia looked up at Eric first, "Did you do that on purpose this time?" Amelia whispered. "No, we are downwind, I didn't sense him before." Eric whispered back, looking over Amelia's head at Alpha Damien. Amelia saw only honesty in his eyes. She nods turning towards her angry mate and stomping up to him. Amelia noticed his eyes turn back from black to sky blue, indicating he was regaining control over his wolf, who had tried to take over their body. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Amelia screams at Damien once standing directly in front of him, her voice coming out more squeaky than she would have liked. She immediately regretted the volume at which she spoke when she noticed several people had stopped to stare at them. Alpha Damien towered over Amelia's small frame, looking down on her. He took a deep breath trying to remain calm. "I think it might be time we talked. Do you know somewhere private?" Damien asked.
