After Alpha Damien left to go to the meeting with Amelia's father, Amelia let out a long breath. She didn't even realize how tense she was till he walked away. Amelia's heart had been racing the whole time he was in her company. Even though Amelia's mind told her to move on, her soul and body still wanted Damien. Ariel put her arm around Amelia, pulling her into a hug. Amelia laid her head on Ariel's shoulder and let her silent tears fall freely, not caring who saw her grief at this point.
"It'll be okay Amelia," Ariel whispered, "we are here for you."
"Thank you." Amelia told Ariel, now looking up to meet her eyes. "Can we go spar? I need to let out some aggression."
"Of course." Ariel chuckled.
They said thank you to Isabella and rubbed her belly much to her despite, before making their way to the training grounds. Walking side-by-side the Alpha's daughters greeted everyone they passed with either a smile or quick cordial greetings. Growing up in the pack of about 450 werewolves, they knew everyone in the pack, even if just in passing. When they got to the gym they quickly changed into workout clothes they kept in their lockers.
Walking into the training arena the girls found an empty Wrestling Octagon quickly. They went a few rounds before taking a water break. Ariel went to grab them a couple water bottles from the vending machine, while Amelia found a seat on a nearby bench. Wiping the sweat from her face Amelia looked around the training grounds. She noticed a few fellow warriors from her team working out close by. She gave them a small wave when she noticed they saw her looking.
"Would you want to go to the meadow for a run?" Ariel asks, handing Amelia a bottle of water.
"I could collect chamomile and nasturtium flowers while you let Winnie run, if you'd like. The flowers will be dying off soon anyway, this might be our last harvest before fall." She suggested.
Amelia liked that idea, the flower meadow was one of her favorite places. Amelia and her sisters helped their grandmother plant the flowers when they were small girls. The meadow reseeded itself every year now, but they spent several springtimes helping their grandmother make the flower meadow the perfect place. It contained flowers of all different types, with beautiful, large stone walkways to walk about without disturbing the natural environment their grandmother had so lovingly created. Some of the flowers are used for medicinal purposes, some for spiritual purposes, and plenty of varieties of native flowers to attract beneficial pollinators and feed the honey bees Amelia's uncle kept.
There was also a shallow stream, Amelia and her siblings use to play in, on the western perimeter of the meadow. The stream ran downhill to a small pond her father, Alpha Travis, fishes in (the rare times he could actually take a break from pack work). The eastern perimeter of the meadow housed her uncle's bee hives and a few small garden sheds containing supplies.
"Yeah... that sounds nice." Amelia told Ariel.
Before Amelia and Ariel could leave, Amelia felt someone grab her wrist. She spun around to come face-to-face with Eric, the male team lead warrior on Amelia's Marital Arts Team. He was wearing a cheesey smile as he looked down upon her.
"I was hoping to spar with you before you left." Eric said, moving his hand down from her wrist to hold Amelia's hand.
"I'm going for a run now, but maybe we can at training tomorrow." Amelia said, letting go of Eric's hand.
"I can't wait." He said in a low voice, leaning in closer to Amelia. She smiled at him instead of answering with words.
As they walked out of ear shot Ariel turns to Amelia. "That was weird." She whispers.
"Extremely," Amelia shuddered. "We are friends, but not like that."
Turning to look over her shoulder, Amelia saw an angry Alpha Damien quickly approaching Eric. Amelia grabbed Ariel's arm, stopping her and turning them both around. Damien say's something to Eric, very close to his face. Eric turned his head toward Amelia, winking playfully. Amelia went to take a step forward when Damien punched Eric in the face, causing blood to flow from his nose. As Amelia ran towards the two men Damien looked up at her before storming off in the other direction.
"Well Shit...."
