Using her sense of smell, Amelia made her way back to the common area, checking in with Ava before going up to her guest suite on the Alpha floor. She got her clothes and toiletries together, heading to the bathroom for a long stress relieving shower.
Turning the water on as hot as she could stand, Amelia stepped into the huge shower. She took a long, hot shower, only getting out once her skin started to prune. Finding out she helped save Robbie's life really helped improve Amelia's frame of mind. She realized that even if her mate doesn't want her, she still has a purpose in life.
Amelia has always enjoyed helping out in the pack daycare. She worked there three days a week as a side job. Amelia is also a pack warrior, along with her siblings (excluding her brothers Aaron and Ashton, the next Alpha and Beta respectively. Their current Beta having no son's to pass the title to). Her family being the strongest werewolves in the pack, and being of a true Alpha lineage, they are some of the strongest in the country. Amelia and all her siblings were required to train extensively through their childhoods, continuing to get more strenuous further into adolescents and adulthood.
Putting on a plain black, fitted tank top, Amelia decided then she would talk to Mrs. Patty, the daycare director, about more hours when she got home. Working and training even more would not only improve her skills, but also distract her from the empty feeling she has felt for the last few weeks. She finished dressing in grey athletic shorts and a pair of white Adidas, putting her long, blonde hair into a braid down her back, instead of blow-drying it. Looking at her face in the mirror, Amelia noticed her color somewhat coming back and her eyes seemed to be a little brighter.
Amelia went to open the bathroom door, only then realizing that she could smell another werewolf in her guest suite. The scent seemed somewhat familiar to her, but she couldn't place it. Cautiously she opens the door, ready to be on the offensive. Peeking through the crack as she opens the door, Amelia sees Claire, her mate's Beta Female, standing against the bedroom door, holding her hands up as to show she is of no harm.
Amelia steps out never taking her eyes off Claire. She was dressed in a knee-length, forest green sundress and a pair of cute sandals. She must have been at the meeting Alpha Jerome and Alpha Damien were attending together.
"I was sent to check on you. Or in the words of my Alpha "I better go set my own eyes on you and make sure you are unharmed, or else" Claire said in a gruff tone, clearly making fun Alpha Damien's demeanor. She then started to giggle as she walked closer to Amelia.
Claire gave Amelia a once over, much like hers sister's and Montana, their Beta Female, had done hours ago. She got a far away look in her eyes, indicating she was mindlinking someone, before going back to normal and Claire hugging Amelia.
"I'm glad you aren't injured. I heard you were attacked alone." Claire said, taking a seat on Amelia's bed.
"I was with Ava and Ada at first, we smelled rouges and were separated while running back to the packhouse. I didn't know I was running right towards a cliff, it was fight or die. The rouge was untrained though, he only managed to trip me once, he didn't even get in one hit. It ended pretty quickly with me knocking him over the cliff's edge. I got a few scrapes and bruises when we rolled and grappled but nothing that didn't immediately heal." Amelia said looking at the back of her right elbow that had been scraped up hours ago.
Claire got that far away look again and Amelia sighed loudly. She should have known Claire would just reiterate what she told her, and Damien would never check on her himself.
Why does he even care to know if he doesn't want us? Amelia asked Winnie.
Maybe he does want us, he is just scared or needs time. Winnie responds.
Do you think he will ever want us? Amelia asked Winnie.
I don't know Amelia. Winnie said, sadness in her voice.
"Amelia..." Claire said loudly, now standing directly infront of Amelia.
"Oh sorry, I was talking to Winnie." Amelia said, walking over to grab her phone off the night stand.
"Who is Winnie?" Claire asked.
"My wolf." Amelia says low, looking at the notifications on her phone.
"Oh she has a beautiful name!" Claire says excitedly. "My wolf's name is ivy."
"That is a beautiful name too." Amelia said looking up at Claire. "I can't wait to meet her."
"She can't wait to meet her new Luna either!" Claire said with enthusiasm.
Amelia froze, she didn't think she would ever be Damien's Luna, let alone him wanting to even be in the same room as her. Claire must have caught onto Amelia's change in demeanor because she walked closer, putting her hands on Amelia's shoulders.
"I can not imagine how you feel Amelia. I am not sure how much you have been told about Alpha Damien's first mate, but it is a sad story." Claire said, her eyes beginning to water.
Amelia nods, a tear falling from her eye. With a deep breath she tells Claire about her dream, the shared memory the Moon Goddess blessed her with. Claire stands in silence infront of Amelia, not sure what to say, after minutes she blinks, looking around the room.
"I can't believe you saw everything. Does Damien know about the dream?" Claire asked, now pacing.
Amelia shakes her head no, not daring to answer with words. Claire stops pacing, staring at Amelia for a moment.
"Who all knows about the shared memory?" She asked.
"Only my parents and siblings. My father instructed us to keep it hush-hush till he does more research. He said he has read about the phenomenon in ancient books, but never heard it happening in this day in age. In the past it was still a rare occurrence, only happening between close, extremely powerful mates. He wanted to talk to the elders of our pack about why I had a shared memory now, when not only it hasn't been recorded to occur in many generations, but also to a pair of mates who haven't even spoke." Amelia said. Claire nods, seemly relieved.
Amelia dinner will be ready in ten minutes. Ava tells Amelia through mindlink.
I will be down soon. Amelia tells her.
"Dinner is almost ready." Amelia says to Claire.
"I'll go freshen up and meet you down there." Claire said walking out of Amelia's guest suite.
I do not want to go down there for dinner! I know he will be there, probably ignoring my existence. Amelia tells Winnie stubbornly.
He did come here, supposedly to check on us though. Maybe it will be different this time. Winnie said with hope.
Doubtful! Amelia growls.
