Aftershock

When Winnie stepped out of the woods, her and Amelia saw the commotion all around them. She knew Ada and Ava were able to escape injury, but it seemed others were attacked too. There must have been more rouges than she realized. While they didn't see any obvious casualties, there were a lot of wolves with injuries wandering towards the pack house. Suddenly Ava and Ada's Beta Female, Montana, came from behind her, rubbing Winnie's scruff as she came up beside her. She seemed to be checking Winnie for injuries, holding some clothes out for Winnie to take with for teeth. Winnie went behind a tree, shifting back into Amelia, and putting on the clothes Montana brought her. Amelia stepped out from behind the tree, following Montana towards the pack house. "Are you okay?" Montana asked. "I don't see any obvious signs of injury but I'm just making sure." She said eyeing Amelia up and down another time. "Just a few scrapes and bruises. Nothing that hasn't already healed." Amelia told her. Montana nodded hesitantly. As they walked by a cottage, a women carrying a child came running towards them, screaming for help. The child had a gash to his torso, obviously made by a wolf claw. Amelia and Montana quickly ran to the mother. Amelia helping hold a cloth tightly to the child's wound, while Montana helped lower the child to ground gently. After what felt like a life-time to Amelia, but in reality was mere seconds, nurses came and took the child off to the pack hospital, his mother following closely. "Do you think he will recover?" Amelia asked Montana, not looking away from the retreating forms. "We have some of the best werewolf doctors on this side of the country, if anyone can save him, they can." She said also still watching the retreating nursing staff. Amelia followed Montana back to the pack house, other pack members following behind them as they passed. When they reached the entrance Montana turned towards Amelia. She took a deep breath releasing it before looking Amelia directly in the eye. "Look I like you, your sister's won't going to tell you, but I feel that decision unfair. They let me know our Alpha was with your mate when informed of the attack. Your mate, the one everyone knows turned his back on you, is headed here, with Alpha Jerome. Your sister's won't going to tell you in hopes you would reconcile and fall in love on site." Montana says, rolling her eyes. "They love you and just don't understand that some peoples love stories are harder than other's." She said giving Amelia a small sympathetic smile. "As soon as your mate heard you were a victim of a rouge attack, he took off in our direction. I however feel it my responsibility to keep the peace for my Alpha's, and the surprise for you could lead to tensions between three different packs. Please understand I back you, along with your sister's, but keeping peace between ally packs is part of a ranked members job." Montana said, bowing her head towards Amelia with the last words. Amelia had conflicted feelings. While her heart fluttered that her mate responded toward hearing about her distress, she was weary of his intentions. He hadn't responded towards her at their first encounter, and hit her brother at their second. She didn't know what his intentions were with coming to the pack where she was attacked. "Thank you for informing me Montana. I really appreciate the notice so I have time to mentally prepare." Amelia shakes Montana's hand before they head through the packhouse front entrance. Amelia found her sister's, Ava and Ada, helping with injured in the packhouse common area. There were children running around everywhere while their parents were being given medical care, or working to clean the mess from the surprise attack. Ava stands from wrapping an older woman's ankle, telling the elderly werewolf to change the wrapping as needed. She runs over to Amelia, looking her up and down, much like her Beta Female did moments ago. "I'm so glad you aren't injured. I would be devastated if something happened to you on our territory." Ava says, wrapping her long arms around Amelia tightly. "I am glad y'all are okay too." Amelia says as she embraces her sister. Amelia let out a small sob, her emotions getting the better of her. She emotions have been in turmoil ever since she first laid eyes on her mate. Amelia wonders how everything has gone so wrong in such a short amount of time. Upon Ava's release, Ada immediately pulls Amelia and Ava into another tight hug. When she releases Amelia notices that she is misty-eyed too. The events of what happen to her pack getting the best of her. Ada wipes her eyes, straightening her clothes and combing back her hair with her fingers. "Everyone that we have the capability of giving medical care has been helped. I'm going to walk over to the pack hospital and see if I can be of help there." Ada said. "I'll stay here and help with the children." Ava tells Ada. Ava nods giving her a sad smile before addressing Amelia. "If you would like to go clean up and rest you can, but once your strength is back up would you mind helping wherever needs you?" "Of course I'll help. I would like to go to the pack hospital with you first. Montana and I helped a mother with a injured child earlier, I would like to see if he is okay." Amelia told Ada. Ada nods taking Amelia's hand a leading her through countless hallways and turns before coming to a side entrance to the pack hospital. Upon entering a small hospital waiting room Amelia saw commotion. Ada kissed her on the forehead before running off after a nurse. Amelia wandered aimlessly around the pack hospital trying to find the mother she helped earlier. She tried to ask several nurses and hospital staff were the mother might be but they were all so busy helping injured pack members. Finally after searching for several minutes, Amelia saw the mother and a rather big male werewolf sitting on a bench at the end of a hallway. She walked up slowly, the mother noticing her when she was a few feet away. "Oh my Goddess, it's you!" The mother yells as she jumps up, embracing Amelia tightly. "Thank you, thank you so much for helping us." She says in Amelia's ear, still not letting go. "You're welcome. I would have helped anyone in need." Amelia said, the mother finally pulling away. Amelia looked at the mother, then behind her to the huge male werewolf. He was smiling, his face wet with tears. He wasn't as intimidating as Amelia had thought before. "My name is Ralph, this is my wife Lisa. Thank you for helping her and our son, Robbie." Ralph said, holding out his hand for Amelia to shake. She smiles at them, shaking Ralph's hand. "My name is Amelia, I am Luna Ava and Ada's sister. How is Robbie doing?" Amelia asked, her tone changing to worried with the last question. "He will be okay." Lisa said, smiling at Amelia. "Thanks to you and Montana putting pressure on the wound, the nurses got Robbie here before there was too much blood loss. He will recover." Ralph adds. "That's wonderful news!" Amelia said, giving Lisa another hug. Just then, a doctor came out, addressing Ralph and Lisa as Mr. and Mrs Jones. Amelia excused herself, making her way back to the side entrance of the hospital Ada took her through earlier.
