Kynan had just gotten home and kicked off his shoes when his phone rang. Amy's name flashed on the screen, and he hoped she was calling to tell him she'd changed her mind about letting him come over. He lifted the phone to his ear and was instantly pelted with the angry voice of a woman. “What the hell have you done with my sister you piece of s**t!”
“Amy?” He asked confused. Why was she yelling at him?
“Yes Amy! You better tell me where she is! If you've hurt one hair on her precious little head, I'm going to...”
“Shut up!” He demanded. This couldn't be real. This wasn't Amy on the other end of the phone. It was Lexi and something bad had happened to Amy. Fear turned his blood cold.
“Tell me what happened. Where is she?”
“You know what happened you bastard! She's been seeing you behind our backs hasn't she? And now she's missing and there's blood everywhere. I'm going to kill...” Kynan hung up the phone, cutting her off. Blood? Blood everywhere and Amy was missing. Kynan flashed to just outside Lexi's door. He could hear her going off at him, swearing. Did she even realize he had hung up the phone? Ignoring her cursing, Kynan squatted and touched a drop of blood on the floor. His finger came back wet and he placed it in his mouth. It was demon blood but he didn't know the species. He didn't need to know, to track the bastard. Concentrating on the demonic signature of the blood, Kynan got a blip of a signal. Quickly while he still could, he flashed to its location.
Kynan found himself inside an auto garage surrounded by Demons, They were all armed with very sharp weapons, and all pointed in his direction. But that wasn't what sent fear shooting through him. It was the sight of Amy, bound and tied to a chair. She had bruises on her face and blood all over her neck and shoulder. She was trying to scream but a gag had been placed in her mouth. The sight of her angered him.
“Nice of you to join us.” A balding man with a wide gait smiled devilishly. He looked human but Kynan sensed a familiar evil seeping past his human skin. The Soul Eater.
“Let her go.” Kynan demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
“You know, I think I'll hang onto her a while.”
“She has nothing to do with this.”
“No? And here I thought she meant something to you.” He pulled a long thin knife from his pocket and moved towards her.
“Stop!” Kynan ordered. “I won't just let you kill her.”
“But I thought she meant nothing to you?”
“Every human life is precious.” Kynan stated trying to mask his panic. Mal laughed. The amusement on his face was evident. He hadn’t realized the Angel had no idea what he was screwing. Although the vampires had mentioned that Kynan’s scent wasn’t on her skin. Which meant the Angel hadn’t claimed her yet. Mal narrowed his eyes at the Angel before him. Kynan was trying to mask his feelings for the half-breed, but he couldn’t hide them well enough. Mal had seen the panic and rage on the feathered bastard’s face when he’d seen the girl. He was about to enjoy the next few moments very much.
“Very well then. If her life is so precious, I'll trade it for yours.” Amy screamed trying desperately to tell him she wasn't worth it. She wasn't worth his life. Kynan's green eyes met hers and what she saw there broke her heart. The blade touched her neck and a small bead of blood rolled down her skin. She didn’t scream. Instead, Amy silently prayed to whoever would listen.
“Don’t!” She tried to tell him. But He wasn’t listening.
“Done.” Amy's heart cried out. She watched as Kynan was grabbed and bound with chains by the demons and vampires surrounding him. Claws dug into his skin and burning chains were twisted around him. They burned like they were coated in evil, that cut at him to the bone. He felt excruciating pain wherever they touched him. But Kynan believed it was worth it. If they had done this to hurt Amy, he would have lost his mind with rage.
“You really are an idiot.” Mal informed him cruelly. He got right down in Kynan's face. “She's not even human. I can smell the were-b***h in her from here.” Kynan froze. No, he wouldn't believe it. Amy wasn't evil, she wasn't a demon but as he saw the guilty, devastated look on her face, he knew it was true. Pain tore through him. What had he done? Amy, his Amy, was a monster.
