Amy flopped down on her bed with a dreamy sigh. She rolled over and buried her face into the patchwork quilt to hide her excited giggle. Kynan had kissed her again. Even after she had freaked out on him last time. The kiss had been so soft and sweet that it had made her head spin. Nothing like their previous kiss, but somehow just as good. She wanted more. Wanted Kynan, a freaking angel! Her previous joy dulled as reality set in. Nothing had changed. They were too different. Literally from two different worlds. Amy might have been born in the human world but her ancestral home was still the underworld. And Kynan was from Heaven. Neither one could enter the other without dying. If it wasn’t for the human world that bridged the two others, Amy and Kynan would never have even met. But they had met. And no matter what happened next, Amy was happy they had. Her phone buzzed inside her pocket. She picked it up and a giant smile speard across her face. “Hi.” Amy knew she shouldn’t do it, knew it could get her killed, but despite all logic, she answered it.   The Zoo. Amy was so excited to be there and just like at the aquarium she was taking pictures of everything. It was the only time she ever let go of Kynan's hand. She had invited him along with her and Kynan was really glad that she had. Even though he was spending the whole day intentionally ignoring his heavenly duties, he didn't care. It was worth getting in trouble with the powers that be just so see her smiling. She tugged him around the zoo looking at everything. Amy especially enjoyed watching the tigers play and the seals swimming. “I wonder if the elephant’s like being grey?” She wondered not realising she'd asked it out loud. “What colour should they be?” Kynan asked her. “Pink or maybe orange?” Amy laughed at his nonsense, and he pulled her in for a kiss. God, she felt good in his arms. Kynan never wanted to leave her. He wished they could stay like that forever. If only there were no such things as angels and demons. If only he was human and he could spend forever just like this. But there were Angel's and demons and as much as he hated it, he needed to let go of Amy eventually. Kynan stepped away from her with a strange smile on his face. “Is something wrong?” Amy asked puzzled by his strange change of mood. “No, just hungry.” “Oh.” “How about some ice-cream?” Amy's face lit up. “Okay.” “What flavour?” “Surprise me.” She kissed him before he went off to buy ice-cream. Amy liked ice-cream and started day-dreaming about it while she took more photos.   Kynan found a kiosk and picked out the vanilla ice-cream covered in rainbow sprinkles. That seemed the best fitted to Amy's personality. He also got a chocolate paddle pop but when he tried to pay for them the girl refused to take his money. “I couldn't take your money handsome. Just seeing your smile is payment enough.” She leant forward so he could see her beasts through the v of her collared shirt. “Although your phone number would be nice as well.” For the first time ever, Kynan didn't care about a pair of breats and an easy lay. His thoughts were on Amy. He placed a ten on the counter and walked away without a single word to the girl. She was disappointed but it didn't matter to him. What mattered was the beautiful red-haired girl laughing and talking to the elephant.       Kynan hung up the phone after just arranging a coffee date with Amy. A bloody coffee date. What the hell was he thinking? If he kept on like this, he was going to get a whole bucket of heavenly wrath thrown down on his dumb head. He put down the phone and focused on the map in front of him. Red dots were the Soul Eater and the yellow dots were the other demon they had since determined was a succubus. They were nasty little things. Capable of seducing anyone, even angels, they fed off of s****l energy which, more often than not, killed their partners. The hard part was that they looked just like ordinary women until they had you pinned beneath them, and it was too late to do a damned thing about it. Angels and demons seemed to be able to recognise them however, unless they were so powerful and old that they could hide their demonic aura. This one appeared to be very good at hiding. The phone beside him buzzed. It was the transaction records from the victim’s credit cards. A contact at the police department had sent them through. After almost an hour of cross-referencing the hundreds of transactions, Kynan finally found a commonality. “Gottcha.” He said to himself, then checked his watch. He had two more hours until he had to meet Amy at the coffee shop which meant he had time to do a little hunting.   Ryan complained the whole way to the strip joint, until he actually saw where they were going. “Not like I'm complaining, but what are we doing here?” Ryan asked as they got out of the car. “Six out of eight victims used the ATM here before they were killed.” Ryan laughed. “Dumb arses, don't they know those things record everything? Smart move putting an ATM at a strip joint though.” Kynan didn't argue. They went inside and were immediately assaulted by loud music and the noxious sent of strawberry body spray. Barely dressed women, in heels that looked more deadly than the dagger tucked in the back of Kynan’s pants, danced for the entertainment of horny men and women. The oily sense of an evil soul slid up their spines. Kynan exchanged looks with Ryan and they moved to the back of the club. They moved silently through the crowd hunting for the source of the evil. The slimy feeling increased as they got closer. They found her dancing for a man in a back room decked out in red velvet. She turned her head towards them when they opened the door. Her eyes widened a fraction and she turned around to face them. The succubus was gorgeous. She had rich caramel skin and silky black hair. Her dark eyes narrowed on them. She didn’t even seem to be bothered by the fact that her chest was bare. A man in a suit, that had just had his hands on her hips, jumped up in surprise. “What the hell?” “Trust me mate.” Ryan said. “We’re doing you a favour.” “Hey!” The guy protested, as he was roughly shoved out of the small room. “I'm getting the manager!” He yelled, as the door was slammed in his face. “That wasn't very nice boys. Hector paid a lot of money to have me all to himself.” “Shut up bitch.” Ryan took his dagger out of its hiding place and used his power to heat the blade red hot. She pouted her ruby red lips and tutted them. “You're so mean to me. I was only having a little fun.” “Well now it's our turn to have a little fun.” She hissed at Ryan and her fingernails grew into long claws. They now knew what she had used to carve the hearts out of her victims. Kynan drew his own dagger as Ryan lunged at her. The succubus spun to avoid the blade and raked her claws across Ryan's back. Then she lashed out at Kynan so fast, she was a blur. Her nails cut into his chest, but it wasn't very deep. He slashed at her with his blade, but she dodged that too. Artfully, she danced around them, slashing at them while they had yet to land a single blow. “Fuck.” Ryan breathed, having missed her again. “Amsterdam?” Kynan asked. “Amsterdam.” Ryan agreed. In one smooth motion both men yanked down their pants exposing themselves. The succubus was so stunned and distracted it allowed them both to land that precious blow. She shrieked as she died, clutching at her wounded chest. She collapsed to the floor, dying in agony. They watched as her body began to melt into a greasy stain on the laminated floor. “How sad is it that we need to flash our d***s to kill a succubus.” Kynan said refastening his belt. Completely indifferent to the Succubus’ suffering. She was an evil murdering demon after all. “Well at least we give them one last happy memory before they die.” Kynan laughed at his friend's comment. “Hey, I'm serious. I can't speak for you, but my d**k has brought many a maiden to joyful tears.” “Yeah, but is that before or after you actually have s*x with them?” Kynan teased. “Har har.” Kynan looked down at his shredded clothes. He would need to go home and change before he met with Amy. Something told him she wouldn't love the shredded zombie look he was rocking. A fist pounded on the door. “Hey, what's going on in there?” They two angels shared a look. It was time to flash out.   Mal watched the angels flash out over the camera feed. He had watched poor Amity die horribly, thanks to their trickery and vulgarity. He was almost glad he wouldn't be able to watch it again. It was impossible to record an Angel when they were using their powers, so all he had was watching it in real time via the video link he had set up to spy on the poor succubus. To make matters worse, she wasn't the first of his people to be killed by those f*****g Angels in resent weeks. How was a man supposed to start an uprising if all his players were turning up dead? The higher ups were starting to lose faith in him. He knew what he had to do. He had to kill an Angel. Mal sent a photo of the Angels to every single one of his minions around the world, with instructions to find them and report back any information they uncovered. Amity’s death would not be in vain.
