chapter 15

piper.

I woke up still in neals arms, I take the time to look over his handsome face. he seems more at peace when he's sleeping, his beard is ruffled and his hair is everywhere. I just want to run my fingers through it, I never want this to end but I also know that he's got a big life and will probably move on before I'm ready.

I slowly stretch my body out and I hear his raspy morning voice " good morning gorgeous"

I turn to him " morning I didn't mean to wake you" he shakes his head never opening his eyes and just pulls me closer I giggle " I've gotta get moving babe" I say and his lips turn to a pout and he holds me tighter

" where are you running off to?"

" I'm meeting sadie at the beach"

I sigh out as he places kisses down my neck. we're born still makes from our adventures last night and I can feel his friend poking into my stomach. ' l fun before I go won't hurt' I think to myself as push him onto his back and straddle him, his half open eyes watching my every move. I grind myself into him causing his hands to find my hips. when we get down to the area my parents are sadie instantly lights up and jumps in neals arms " daddy you came" she says excited and he laughs " well I wouldn't miss it pea"

I see the wink he sends my mom and that's definitely something I'm gonna have to ask them about.

but we enjoy our day, I watch as he plays in the water with her, builds a sand castle and even let's her half way bury him with my help.

he jumps up covered and sand and starts chasing her around as she's laughing I take a seat by my mom with a smile on my face and she bumps shoulders with me

" so I take it you guys talked?" she asks

" yes we did. did you talk to him?" I question

she laughs " he may have told me you were being stubborn"

I roll my eyes.

sadie comes to sit down by us, I can tell she's getting tired.

hanging out on the beach with my girls I can't keep the smile off my face. I don't remember a time when I was ever this happy, little pea is getting sleepy I can tell as she makes her way to piper I stand at the water trying to get some of the sand off of myself and her dad walks over to me.

" so my wife said you guys weren't seeing eye to eye on something?" he states

" yes sir, that's true we weren't but we could've figured it out a lot sooner bad piper not shut me out. I swear I didn't do anything bad against her"

he sighs " she shuts us out too. apparently it's her only way of dealing"

I nod my head " I understand that but honestly sir she's gotta learn to trust me. to trust to talk to me and not shut me out because I can't take it, then it means I don't see pea"

he slaps my shoulder " you've definitely got your work cut out for you, just don't give up on her yet. I haven't seen her this happy in a long time"

we both turn to look at the girls getting the things packed up

" how about some bbq tonight?" I suggest

and be smiles " son you have eno idea how happy that makes me"

I look at him with so many questions but he just takes of towards the girls. I make my way over and help them get the things gathered. I take a handful of things and scoop pea up

" sleep babygirl?"

we make it to our cars and load everything in. pea is gonna ride back with them so she can get something she made for piper.

" so steaks okay with everyone?" I ask as piper looks at me but her dad agrees

" are we having dinner with them"

" yeah I asked them to come over for bbq I hope you don't mind"

she shakes her head " no not at all I just wasn't expecting it"

I take her hand and kiss the back of it

once back at the house I call one of my guys in training and tell him to pick them food up and drop it off for me, while piper goes to shower. when I'm done I make my way to her bathroom and sneak in the shower with her, her eyes are closed as she washes the sand from her hair. she looks absolutely beautiful, slightly sun kissed with the water falling over her.

when she opens her eyes she jumps covering her mouth." you scared the hell out of me neal"

I chuckled " I'm sorry, thought we'd save some water"

she laughs as she turns around and moves a little so I can rinse off. " bigger shower is definitely something we're looking for when we buy a house together" I say not even realizing what I've said but as soon as it's our of my mouth her eyes are huge. I just continue to wash my body I can feel her eyes burning a hole in my body but I try to play it off.

I throw my head back to rinse the soap from my hair. I stand drinking my beer as I look over at the girls at the table just talking and I notice she's also drinking a beer.

" you okay over there?" her dad ask

and I smile " I don't think it gets any better"

be nods before saying " I'm thankful you wanted us to join and that you joined us at the beach." he pauses and sighs " when she was with the other guy he didn't come around much and we really didn't see much of her"

I can hear the sadness in his voice

" I won't lie to you sir, the whole family thing besides my biker brothers is all new to me. but I like it, I love how happy and free she seems around y'all"

he sticks his hand out for me to shake

" welcome to the family" he says as I shake his hand.

we make our way to the girls and I sit beside piper with my arm thrown behind her on the bench I notice her body tense at first but she soon relaxes into me as I play with her hair.

we are all enjoying the conversation and sadie is trying to get me to talk piper into going out for a girls night with her. her mom agrees it's something she needs to do, honestly I'm not against it I'll just be worried about her the while time and the guys hanging around. I nod my head and squeeze her shoulder

" I think you'd enjoy it, let lose a little. I'll even watch pea if you want"

I feel everyone's eyes looking at me but I'm looking down at her into her big wide eyes, I can tell she can't figure out if I'm testing her or not.

" I um I don't know I'll see what work looks like"

she stutters out.

" have you girls been to my club in the city? I'm sure maddy would enjoy showing y'all around"

I say trying to ease her worry.

" I haven't but I've always wanted to! yes were definitely going!" addie says excited but piper just looks away.

I can't tell if he's just acting like it's not a big deal and will freak out if I go after everyone leaves so I just try to change the conversation.

" so sadie was accepted into the pre-k program this year"

everyone starts talking about that thankfully

" when does she start? I definitely have to be here for that" neal says once again shocking the hell out of me.

" middle of August. so about a month and a half" I reply

he nods and everyone starts talking again, I take a long drink of the beer in my hand trying to calm. myself down.

soon he and my dad are putting the steaks on so I slip inside to make the salad and heat up the bread. as I'm in the middle of it someone knocks on the door. ' who could that be' I think to myself as I'm cleaning my hands.

I open the door and instantly wish I hadn't

" what are you doing here Ryan? how did you even find my house?" I ask taking a small step back. I feel his eyes go over my body and I now wish I would've put on more clothes

he smirks at me raising a brow " wasn't that hard to find you piper or have you forgotten who you belong to?" he says with smirk still on his face

" I don't know what I want" I reply my voice shaking

" I want to know why there some tatted up punk all over your social media piper"

I suddenly feel like I can't breathe. this isn't going to end well I know it.
