Chapter Three: The Party

1153 Words
We went downstairs from our floor and turned left down the hall past the triplets rooms. I hated going this way but we were headed to the party in the mansion and we had to go down the grand staircase. This staircase was mahogany with burgundy carpet cascading down the steps. It was across from the triplets’ living room, all the walls were a blinding white walls and huge crystal chandelier. My mother motioned for me to wait a few minutes before I walked downstairs. I wanted to wait and give her the grand entrance that she deserved. I started to descend the steps keeping my eyes low even though I knew no one was looking at me. I looked up to catch a glimpse of Alpha Leto kissing my mother and I quickly looked away. As soon as I was down the stairs a waiter offered me a glass of wine. I gladly accepted the glass and drank half in one gulp. I looked around and saw the other girls that were my age wearing dresses that hardly covered anything. The triplets were wearing black suits with red ties. They looked sharp their girlfriends were wearing slutty dresses. They boys saw me looking at them and Sky met my gaze and smiled at me. I dropped my gaze and finished my wine. I hurried over to the bar to get a refill when a jock from school cornered me. “You look lovely tonight,” Axel smiled. “Thank you,” I smiled sweetly back. Axel was known for being a man w***e, he changed women faster than he changed his underwear. He was tall and had a mocha skin tone with green eyes. He already had turned eighteen and was now a part of the pack. He was still waiting to find his mate and was happily passing time with whatever she-wolf would have him. He looked devilish with he dark chocolate curls hanging to his shoulders. He wore a grey suit with a blue tie, not gonna lie I rather enjoyed what I was looking at. “So, are you single?” He questioned. I nodded slightly uncomfortable with his interactions. I finished that glass faster than the first and the bartender gladly filled it up once again. “I’d be careful if I were you. If you get too drunk someone might try to take advantage or you.” The gleam in his eyes told me that it might be someone like him. He wrapped his arm around my waist and the smell of whiskey was on his breath. He was pulling me closer to him roughly. I turned my face away from him and tried to pull away from him. “Come here, baby! I don’t bite… hard.” He chuckled. “Let me go please,” instantly regretting my dress. I wished that I would have worn a sweater to cover my cleavage. His grip was tightening around my hips. I yelped in pain setting my wine glass down to unwind his fingers from my waist. “Is there a problem here?” A deep voice asked. “No, my girlfriend and I are just fighting.” Axel corrected him. “I wasn’t talking to you, Axel. Stormie is there an issue here?” He asked again. I turned to look at the man and it was Sky. I nodded to him that there was an issue. “Yes, he won’t let go of me. I am not his girlfriend. He just told me to be easy on the wine because, someone might try to take advantage of me. And I think he was referring to himself.” I clarified the situation to Sky. Sky moved closer to him and helped me untangle his fingers from my waist. He pushed my hard and I almost stumbled but Sky caught me. He offered his arm to me and I wrapped my arm around his and he led me away from him. “Thank you, Alpha Sky.” My voice was soft if he had not been an Alpha he wouldn’t have heard me. “Call me Sky,” his voice was softer than velvet. I nodded as the boys had already had their titles before mom and I had came downstairs. We were late as usual. The band was playing a soft melody when Sky pulled me to slow dance. He put his hands around my waist and my hands around his neck. “Won’t your girlfriend get mad?” I asked curtly. “No, she isn’t my girlfriend just a good friend of mine.” Sky was so sweet. I nodded and finally looked up to meet his gaze my breath caught in my throat. His icy blue eyes were staring down into my mismatched eyes. “Beautiful,” he mused. I smiled up at him. Not knowing how to respond because he was after all the Alpha. “I never knew you had two different colored eyes. Axel is right you are beautiful tonight. It’s a kitty I never noticed before.” I could feel his eyes on me. The song ended and I bowed to him thanking him for the dance. I got another glass of wine and went to the garden to look at the stars. It was quiet and the fairy lights lit the courtyard well. The babbling of the fountain was soothing to me. I sat in one of the lounge chairs on the patio. I set my glass on the little glass top table and stared up into the sky. I was so caught up in my feelings that I didn’t notice someone had joined me. He cleared his throat to attract my attention but I ignored him. I heated him set down his whiskey glass with a thud. “Don’t ignore me,” Axel’s voice was much gruffer now. I signed and glanced at him the acknowledgment was all he really wanted so I gave him that. “Wanna go you with me?” He asked. “I would love to be left alone, Axel.” Not hiding my frustration. “You wanna go to bed all alone? Really you should as someone to keep you company tonight.” He was trying to sweet talk me. “No, my bed isn’t big enough for two,” I lied. “ Silly girl there are plenty of spare rooms for you and I to cuddle in.” He seemed annoyed with me. I ignored him and grabbed my wine from the table and trudged back into the party. I kept my eyes low to not attract more unwanted attention. I mean honestly I was dressed nice yes, but I had left plenty for imagination nothing hung out. So why must some pervert continue to annoy me like I was the only girl in the room that would go to bed with him.
