Baba! Have woken up from my slumber!, have had enough rest!. Am now fully awake, my

enemies do not even take a nap but I am sleeping all this while‟. Ajibike lamented to

Ewegbami. „Ajibike, what‟s the matter, what is after you? Or what are you after? You better

put your mind at rest; immediately you get here you should know that every of your problem

is solved already. What‟s the problem with you?‟

”Baba Ewegbami, it‟s my son‟s wife o, she had made my son‟s wretched, ever since they got

married everything has move from bad to worse for my son. Ajadi that always sends money

to me, buy me food stuffs, clothes, beverages, to which I always bring some to you, now my

son lives in hardship, immediately after their wedding he lost his job, she has even refused to

get pregnant, am sure she has drained the brain of my son, because I warned my son not to

marry her in the first place when he brought her home, but he didn‟t listen. Baba please

comes to my rescue‟. Ajibike narrated all what‟s wrong with her to Ewegbami. „Ajibike you

have truly slept. So all this has been happening and you kept it all to yourself all this while?

You are just informing me about it. Ajibike you should have told me this before now and we

will have cub her before now‟. Ewegbami said angrily. „Baba, please help me find something

to do about it before she ruins my son completely‟. Ajibike plead to Ewegbami.

„No problem, what are we now going to do Ajibike‟. Ewegbami questioned.

„We will chase her out, she should go and never return‟ Ajibike said.

„Okay no problem about that, she herself will know that she has passed are boundary”.

Ewegbami replied.

“Thanks you so much baba”.

„Come back in three day time‟.

„Alright i will‟ Ajibike said as she takes her leave.

Ajibike arrived at her son‟s house very early in the morning. After which she have went to

see Ewegbami who ask her to come in three days‟ time. He had prepared a charm and gave it

to Ajibke with instruction on how she will use it. She hardly sleeps as to catch up with the

first bus to Lagos at the garage. Ajibike arrives very early at her son‟s house.

„You are welcome mama‟ Dara said.

Thank you my daughter‟ said Ajibike.

„Mama you didn‟t inform us that you would be coming to visit us today?‟ James queries his

mother. „Did I need to announce that, or am to write a letter and forward it to you before I

come here?‟

„Not that mami, I‟m just… em, what I meant is that... Sorry so we can prepare adequately for

your arrival‟. James tries to hide his feelings; Dara who had been watching silently breaks the

silence. „Mama you don‟t have to mind him, you are free to come anytime and stay as long as

you wish‟.

„I don‟t need anyone to tell me that, I know my right in my son‟s house‟. Ajibike replied

giving Dara a horrible look. „Let me take your things inside‟ Dara took the bag and left.

“Ma..mi, ma..mi, you know what you are doing is wrong, it not proper. How will you come

into my house without informing me or my wife? It is very wrong what of if we were

around”? James lamented.

Hmmmm, Ajibike sighed, „a gba ro mo adiye lowo iku, oni won je ki ohun lo atan lo je [am

trying to deliver the chick from danger, it says I didn‟t allow it to get food]. Look at you, as

grown as you are, it your wife that is taking care of bills in the home. She has successfully

collected trouser from you and replace it with a skirts. Here I am now to show her that am a

mother when she have refuse to be one, I will show her what a true mother is‟.

„ Iya Ajadi, ma..mi, e si ba ru olorun. Please don‟t come to my home to destroy my marriage,

Dara must not hear this o‟. James said whispering. „I beg you ma..mi, I will be going to the

mountain today with my friend, I will be back in three days‟ time, please don‟t make my

wife‟s life miserable before am back. Assuming you have informed me earlier that you were

coming, I would have rescheduled I‟m movement, but I can‟t anymore‟.

„It‟s alright my son, God will answer your prayers, and I will also not sleep here, I will also

do the needful, so that everything will be fine at the end of the day”.

„Yes mami that was what you were supposed to say earlier; Instead of accusing my wife

wrongly, thank you ma”. James said ignorantly not knowing what his mother was up to.

Ajibike smiled mischievously.
