He's Her Only Cure

His best friend

Jason's POV

I was relaxing in my room when one of my maids informed me through the intercom that I have a guest. The most surprising and confusing aspect of it is that the guest is a female.

I managed to stand up sluggishly and went downstairs. Like they said, it was really a lady but I couldn't see her face because she was backing me.

She turned her head to look at me because of the footsteps she heard and I was shocked when I saw it was June.

We've been friends since childhood but she travelled out of the country three years ago and I haven't seen her since then.

Although I see her pictures because she's into modelling.

"Jason" she beamed with smiles and stood up to hug me excitedly

"Why didn't you inform me you will be returning today?"

"Is that how to welcome your childhood friend? I doubt if you even miss me" she said frowning her face with her hand folded

"You know I really missed you. I don't have any other female friend"

"Yeah, whatever. I'm hungry" she said with pouted lips"

One of the things I've missed about her is her childish behaviour.

"You know the way to the kitchen" I said with an eyeroll

"You're the worst friend anyone could ever have" she groused

"I know, and that's why you love me" I said with a wink

"Who said I love you? I h.. a....t....e you" she said laying emphasis on the word hate

"We both know you're lying"

"Cook something for both of us to eat" I said teasingly

She actually doesn't like staying in the kitchen so she can't cook a single thing and I like teasing her with it a lot.

"I'm not the old June you used to know, I can prepare different kinds of dishes now"

"Really?" I asked with my voice full of sarcasm "The day you boil water is the day pigs will start flying so keep dreaming"

"Are you mocking me now?"

"Not really, just saying the truth"

"I'm so going to beat you up when I catch you" she said and we started running around the house

I've really missed our childhood days.

We bathed in the swimming pool after our little running around.

"It's really nice to have you back" I said with a wide smile

I've missed her so much!

"Awwn..... Looks like someone really missed my, I'm blushing" she said covering her face

"Stop fooling yourself, I didn't miss you one bit"

"Really? Did you miss me or not?" she asked coming closer to me with her hands fisted showing she was ready for a fight

"Uhhm.... I missed you" I quickly said because I know how skilled she is when it comes to fighting

Right from when we were small, she has always been there to defend me.

"Better. I'm hungry Jason" she said tiredly and sat down

"How come you're hungry? I thought you said you are the best chef in the whole world?" I said with sarcasm

"Whatever! Just get me something to eat"

"I'm only going to get you something to eat now because you just returned but the next time you order me around, I won't answer you"

"And be ready to receive my punches" she said with a smirk

"Well, I'm not scared of them anymore" I stuck my tongue at her and ran to the kitchen

*In the Vampire Kingdom*

Clara's POV

I lay in my bed thinking about the guy I saw yesterday. He has been in my head since then and no matter how much I try to think of something else, my thoughts still go back to him.

I sighed for the umpteenth time and got up from my bed. Do you think I should go to earth today? Maybe luck will smile on me and I will meet him again?

No, I shouldn't go. I have a huge responsibility on my shoulders now so the last thing I need is distraction.

I went to my study and sat down on one of the chairs there. Maybe if I got through the petitions of my subject, I will be able to get him off my mind.

I had not even gone through the first one when I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

"Ahh" I screamed and fell to the ground

I'm the most powerful vampire in the whole of the vampire kingdom, but I have just one weakness which is my heart.

I've had the heart problem ever since I was born and my parents told me the only cure to it is my soulmate.

They told me he's not from the vampire kingdom and I think that's one of the reasons why I like going to earth.

No one knows of this except my parents and they are no more now.

I just hope it remains a secret until I get a cure for it because if the enemies find out about it, our kingdom will become vulnerable to them and they will subdue it in no time.

My parents didn't tell me how my soulmate is going to cure me but I guess I will find that out when I see him.

"Your highness! Your highness!!" I heard one of my maid calling in my room and from the sound of her voice, I could tell she was coming towards my study so I managed to stand up and sat down like nothing happened even though I was still feeling severe pain.

"Oh thank goodness I found you. Good day Your Majesty" she greeted with her head bowed

"Yeah. What is it?"

"The elders are here and they asked me to call you"

"Alright. Tell them I will be joining them soon"

After she left, I managed to reduce the pain with my powers little and it made me weak a bit but I've got no choice.

I went to my room and changed my clothes before going to the meeting room to see the elders.

"Greetings Your Majesty"

"Thank you. So why are you here?"

"Your Majesty, King Richard plans to launch a surprise attack on us in three days time" one of the council members said and I hit my hand on the table before me angrily

"How many times have I warned you not to address the enemy as a king before me?" I roared angrily

"I.. I'm sorry Your Majesty"

"You better be. We are going to battle, call General Kyke for me" I said to one of the guards in the room

"We are going to battle in three days time, are your guards prepared?"

"Always Your Highness"

"Good. Make sure you think of new strategies before tomorrow because I will want to hear them before we go to battle. You can leave now"

"Thank you Your Majesty" he said with a bow and left

"You know your duties. Take the women and children away from the village tomorrow. You know where to take them to already"

"Yes Your Majesty"

"Alright. The meeting is over!" I said and went to my room

I will be going to battle in three days time which means I have to train properly because it's been a while I went to battle. I just hope I don't develop any heart problem during the war because that would mean defeat for us.

"Mom, Dad, your daughter will be going to battle soon. Protect her like you've always done and let her come back victorious like always" I said within me
