Chapter 6: Marry me!

1216 Words
Instead of having small talks, Mr. Anil went straight to the business.   “Mr. Zack, I am sure you also do not have the time for such small talks. Why don’t you state your demands clearly instead of playing such petty games.”   The situation turned serious all of a sudden. They both just stared at each other. I could feel the intensity even from a distance. Kirsh… I mean Zack, he was the first one to break the silence.   “Then I will state my demands. I will sign with your company exclusively if you agree to give me just 1% of the company’s profit.”   What the f**k did I just hear??? 1% of what?? Is this guy really crazy? Does he even know how much would amount to 1% of the company's profit?? While I was lost in my thoughts Mr. Anil sneered at him.   “Do you really believe that you are worth that much in this industry? Not to mention that you are coming back from a break in your career for about 2 years.” “I agree with you on that. Even someone who is in a high position and status such as yourself came down to this remote place and waited all this time after hearing a single news of my possible return. Your presence in itself proved to be a great marketing for me. It’s about time that it has become a hot topic in the industry.” He gave his phone to Mr. Anil.   He gripped the phone so tight that he might just break it in half with his bare hands. I immediately took out my phone as I searched his name in the internet. His name was trending in all the social platforms. The people just started to randomly name a price on him. He was gaining so much attention like he was some popular celebrity. If a company wins him over, the popularity of the brand will be spiked to another level.   Most of all, the people seemed to have been attracted to his mysterious side. Even though he was quite popular, he maintained a low profile. He also made sure that his face was not known to anyone other than the people that he chose to work with.   With a confident look on his deep oceanic blue eyes he spoke.   “Now tell me Mr. Anil, don’t you think I am worth a try?”   The moment those words left his mouth my heart skipped a beat and that was too random! But… I liked his confidence.   Mr. Anil requested for a One-on-One meeting with him, excusing themselves from that grand living room leaving me all alone. I was starving so bad that the rumbling of my stomach could be heard so loud and clear in that silent room. I took out my phone as I texted Daisy about everything that happened in here. Just like I was she too was shocked about the sudden turn of events. In a few minutes, they both came down.   Mr. Anil didn’t look so pleasant as he did a few minutes ago. From the looks of it, maybe the one-on-one didn’t go well. He gave him his card and left.   Zack turned towards me with confusion written all over his face. I giggled from the sight of it.   “So… Mr. Zack, how about having a meeting with me?” “Crescent Moon, is indeed a great brand. If you could agree to my terms, I will sign the contract immediately.” “Contract huh? I happened to investigate on the waiter that I met a few days back and found that his adoptive brother is sick and hospitalized. How about we sign one more contract along with that?”   He looked really confused by my words but he continued to listen.   “You want money and I want a husband. Note, a temporary husband. If you agree, I can give you the money you want. Not a bad deal right?”   He looked really amused by my suggestion.   *Claps* I followed the sound of someone clapping and noticed the young man who guided us in was walking down the stairs grinning from ear to ear as he clapped.   “Wow! Sister-in-law is so cool! Bro, you should marry her!”   Sister-in-law? Wow, I didn’t know it would sound so pleasing to my ears that unknowingly I giggled in front of him. Kirsh looked like he was lost in thoughts until he heard the young guy from behind.   “Bro, what are you still thinking about? Why don’t you just agree?” He whined at Krish like a child. A glare from his eyes silenced the young man.   All of a sudden he turned towards me with a questionable look on his beautiful blue eyes.   “Why would you want to marry me? As you already know, I have nothing to offer in return…”   I couldn’t help but smile at what he said. As per Daisy’s drama's this is where the male lead would suggest the female lead to offer herself in return for the money. I couldn’t help but cringe on that thought!   “Um, yeah, you don’t.” I stammered, unable to hide my smile. “What I meant was, I will be working you to death until I get my money’s worth. Don’t think I would go easy on you just because you will be my husband.”   I masked myself with my professional smile almost instantly. How could I actually smile so wide in front of him like that?? My mouth is such a betrayer!   He still stood there unconvinced. He stared at me with his beautiful deep blue eyes, scrutinizing my each and every action. He was trying to read me. I felt a little flustered having him stare at me like that. But no matter how I felt inside, I always made sure to not show it on my face. But it was getting difficult with him. He was breaking through me with just his eyes! His eyes that reminded me of someone who was and will always be dear to me… I couldn’t help but be lost in those pair of eyes…   “So…” His enchanting voice pulled me out of the loop that I was caught on. I stared at him as he continued to speak.   “You still haven’t answered… Why… me?”   I swear I had my eyes opened wide with surprise. Really… why him? What made me choose him? I still have yet to find the answer for that. But for now, I know one thing for sure. I want to get to know him better…   I cleared my throat as I gave him my most genuine smile before answering.   “Because… I also don’t know. I just decided to look into you on a whim. But after meeting you for the second time, I became curious as to what kind of person you really are. So, let’s say that I am interested in you!”   Instead of being surprised, he looked stunned as he froze on the spot like a statue.   *Growl* Damn it!!! Why now of all the f*****g time!?? It hadn’t even been a second since I said something cool. My whole body is working against me today!!   I must have looked so flustered in front of him as I hugged my stomach from hunger. He gave me a charming little smile as he gestured the young man behind him to prepare the dinner.
