Chapter 7: Krish.

1208 Words
Hi All, This chapter is written from Krish's point of view. Hope you all like it. Thanks for reading!.  ……………………………………………………Krish……………………………………………..   “Bro, why do you refuse to get money from dad? We all really do consider you as our family! Why don’t you try to understand our feelings?” Liam Swain, my brother, the biological son of my adoptive parents huffed in front of me with annoyance. He is the same age as my adoptive brother Raven. I decided to ignore him as I walked towards the hospital ward where Raven was. Liam pulled me by my shirt to get my attention like a little kid. Just like he wanted I turned around to face him.   “You want to know why I don’t dare to take money from our family? It’s because I can’t borrow anymore from you! It was you who helped me with the money for these 2 years. I cannot continue to depend on you like this. I feel sorry both towards you and Raven. I can only start my career as a cosmetic chemist again to earn. I will be leaving the other things in your hand.”   I shrugged his arm away as I walked into Raven’s room. Raven was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was just 20. He used to be a very bright and energetic boy. He reminded me so much of my childhood before my parents decided to adopt me. I wanted to become someone like them in his life. But I didn’t know what life had in mind for him to make him be bedridden like this.   The treatment was working fine but all of a sudden it relapsed and made him become so weak.   I used to be the captain of this country’s army’s Special force. There was nothing that I couldn’t get as I knew all the underhanded things done by the well-known leaders and business magnets.   While I was on a secret mission five years ago along with my men, I encounter a young woman being held captive. By the time I reached that place, she was wounded very badly.  I couldn’t see her face clearly as it was very dark. I took her out and handed her over to my subordinates as I went to chase after those that fled.   There had never been a mission that I couldn’t finish. We arrested them. They were the most famous gang who excelled in smuggling, k********g, murder and much more to the list. Before I made them to stand trial, they were killed! And that was when my life took a worst turn. The army accused me of killing them. They tried to make me their accomplice. Luckily I had Liam and our family. He used his power as a member of the Swain to make me dodge the bullet. When I thought I dodged it there was something else to that.   Since they couldn’t lock me up they decided to fire me in the name of bribery and this time Liam’s hands were tied. His involvement in my business drew attention. I was known as Krish in this country and not as Zack Swain. I hid my identity mostly because Sawin’s are one of the most influential families in Europe. I didn’t want any unwanted attention on myself and it was easy for me to make a move as Krish than as Zack. I returned to Country Z to try my luck one last time before I totally give up on it.   I wanted to find out the truth. Why was I fired? What did I do wrong? As I started to dig around, I found some small clues of something big involved. But each time I try to make a move, I failed.   As Zack, I worked as a cosmetic chemist, a freelancer. I took up the jobs only when I was not on the mission. Since I was trying to find out the truth I didn’t have the time to work as a chemist anymore. I stopped working for a while. After taking a break in my career for 2 years, I wondered if anyone be willing to hire me.   I wanted to increase my worth. So I plotted something while working part time in a cafe at Central Plaza. I was able to handle the work and the pay was bearable. Just like any day, I started my work as a waiter at that cafe. Everything was going well until I met that woman…   I have never met her before. But somehow, my eyes were glued on her the moment she stepped into the cafe. Her ash brown hair was tied into a messy bun. She looked a little pissed. I wondered what happened that made her angry.   I was staring at her for so long that I forgot to grab the orders of the customers. As I started my work, I felt someone’s eyes on me. I turned around to see who that was and to my surprise it was her…   She looked so beautiful. Her round eyes reminded me of someone from my past. I felt myself being drawn to her expressionless yet beautiful amber eyes. I went near her in the pretense of a waiter hoping to hear her voice. But instead her friend ordered. I happen to stumble on the kid that I poured the coffee all over her. She stood up shocked while her friend looked annoyed.   Our first meeting couldn’t have been any worse than that. I gave her my shirt as the drink became all sticky on her white top making her undergarments visible. She looked cute when she was embarrassed as she rushed to the restroom.   Liam came to visit me at the cafe with a plan for me. I let out the news of my return. Like I expected people started to swarm in my family’s private villa.   While I made them wait, Liam was working his way with his reporter friends to make my name as some hot topic. When the night drew closer, he went out to bring in the people who were left to make a deal.   And once again I was stunned… I didn’t expect to see her again. She looked gorgeous. Her amber eyes were wide open in shock to find me here. But almost instantly she concealed her emotions and behaved like she never saw me before as if it was her first time meeting me. Somehow my heart ached…   She kept her calm and the professional smile on her face as she continued to observe the situation. If it were not for Mr. Anil demanding a one-on-one, I would have loved to just keep seeing her.   I couldn’t fully concentrate on the one-on-one as her beautiful face kept distracting me. In the end, I never heard nor understood what Mr. Anil spoke. He left after giving me his business card.   The next thing that happened made me freeze on the spot. I didn’t know she had run a little investigation of me behind my back. But that didn’t matter. This woman is just so alluring that I feel myself being lost in her every small action.   I didn’t know why she suggested for a contractual marriage. But whatever it was, I was more than willing to accept…
