Chapter 3: Confrontation.

“Mr. Arnav, would you care to explain this.” She placed a bunch of papers related to his involvement. She always cuts to the case without beating around the bush and that is something which I like about her.   I continued observing the situation in the sidelines without saying anything.   “I didn’t expect you to be so quick, Ms. Daisy.” His sarcastic tone only added fuel to the fire. With a lustful look on his eyes he approached Daisy forsaking Dhiya who was practically throwing herself on him.   “I didn’t expect the young master of the renowned family of Patel to be out flirting with his fiance's step-sister in the open. Please go and stand near her Mr. Patel. I will make sure to take a good pic of you both together.” With a hint of mockery in her words she boldly rebuked him.   He looked pissed by her words as he raised his hand to slap her.   “Wow, Nice! Could you turn around and show your face?” He was shocked to hear my voice thus he turned around to face me.   “Good. Good. Just like that.” I took a pic of him raising a hand against Daisy. The pic came out really well that for a moment I thought I could become a wild life photographer. After all these people are not fit to be considered as humans.   I showed Daisy the pic. When she saw it she was totally amused.   “Scarlet, this is perfect! How about we named it like this, ‘The young master of Patel is harassing a weak and pitiful woman in public.’ Though it won’t be much but if this picture leaks out, I am sure it will cause some impact in Petal Group & CO.”   “Considering Mr. Arnav’s already soiled reputation, who knows it might even be a huge blow to him.” I added with a smirk on my lips.   Arnav, who was now totally pissed, came at me with full force. He grabbed my shoulders tightly as he shoved me to the wall behind.   Daisy was alarmed by the situation while Dhiya was more than amused. I raised a hand to stop Daisy from coming closer. I looked him in the eye as I burst out laughing.   “Hahahaha!” My laughter was echoed in the store. Every employee and customer present was staring at us. I could care less about others.       “I have been a pushover in your eyes, haven’t I? Don’t worry, this time, I won’t let you off easily.” “You dare to threaten me? You cripple! If it were not for my magnanimity, who would agree to marry a cripple like you. Pull yourself together! Without me, you are nothing. Absolutely nothing!”   His rude and ugly words made my blood boil. A saying came to my mind, “Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.” I took a deep breath, In and Out.   “Why do I even bother to talk sense into you.” I kicked him on his leg with a force strong enough for him to let me go.   “Look forward to tomorrow’s headlines.” I waved my phone with a smirk on my lips. Daisy ran towards me with worry.   “Are you alright?” “I am fine. It was nothing. Let’s go.” One last time before we left Daisy turned around to shoot daggers from her eyes at those idiots fuming with rage.   “I am running low on caffeine! Let’s head to the cafe downstairs.” Without waiting for my answer, she dragged me to the cafe.   I spotted a waiter in that huge crowd. He had a pair of breathtaking, mysterious deep blue eyes, the kind that made me feel like my soul was getting sucked out the more I stare at them. He had a tall and muscular build, with a strikingly handsome face.   Before I noticed, he was already walking towards us to get our orders. Daisy nudged my shoulders which snapped me out. I looked at her widely as I blinked.   “Good day, beautiful ladies. What would you like to order?” His deep voice made my breath caught in my chest as my heart did a little dance. These feelings were something new to me.   “Two Americano’s with lots and lots of ice please.” “Lots of Ice?”                          “Yes, please add a whole lot of them!” Daisy annoyance distracted me. The thought of wanting to cool herself down with ice was so silly that I couldn’t help but giggle.   With a smile on his lips he turned around and left.    I could hear Daisy say something but none of it entered into my ears as my concentration was else where.    "Kaira? What happened? Are you really alright?" Her beautiful brown eyes were filled with worry. I shook my head 'NO', giving her a small smile.    "Oh my god! Kaira, watch out!"    Before I could grasp the situation, somehow I was bathed with the 2 cups of extremely cold Americano's.    I opened my mouth in surprise as I stood up from my seat.    "Wha... What the?" I was about to curse but managed to control my tongue at the nick of the time as I saw children near me.    The waiter whom I was admiring earlier was equally shocked. He came near me with a towel in hand as he immediately apologized for his mistake.   "What apology? How can you be so clumsy? Where is your manager?" Daisy who was already annoyed became furious as she demanded for the manager to come.    The waiter kept apologizing while she kept yelling at him.   Finally the owner of the cafe himself showed up and apologized.    "I am really sorry miss. It was my child's fault." Amidst the chaos, a beautiful and refined young lady spoke up.    "Sorry miss. It was not that waiter's fault. My child kept running around here and there. I saw him bump on that young man, which made him lose his balance. I am really sorry for the trouble. Please let me compensate you for your drinks." She offered to pay for our drinks as an apology.    Daisy looked like she wanted to say more. I raised my hand to stop her.    "It's fine madam. Nobody can be blamed. It was just a simple mistake." The lady bowed as an apology and left.    "Woah! Cold!! Sooo cold! He really did add lots of ice as per your request." I grinned at her widely as I hugged myself.   She clicked her tongue as she went out to grab me a new dress from the boutique upstairs.    I turned towards the waiter as I asked him to guide me to the restroom to clean myself up. He removed his shirt which he had tied around his waist and covered me up with it while looking all embarrassed as he pointed toward my chest.   That was when I realized that I was wearing a with cotton top. The coffee became all sticky making my bra visible. I immediately covered myself with his shirt nice and tight as I started to blush uncontrollably.    Luckily he was covering me. He was standing in a way that could cover me from others eyes. But that doesn't mean that he didn't see!!!    My inner mind was in a total chaos and embarrassment.    As if he could hear my concerns he answered me.    "I didn't see... clearly. So calm down. Please follow me this way, miss."    What did he mean "Clearly"? So he did see to a certain extent! I felt so embarrassed that I could die.    I cannot believe that our first meeting was a total disaster.
