Chapter 24It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in mid-December. Georgia and Sean were having lunch at Molly's Reach in lower Gibsons. The girls were at a birthday party for the afternoon.
“Let's take the kids up to the cabin for Christmas.” Georgia said.
“Really? I thought we were all going to your parents for Christmas dinner?”
“There's going to be a lot of people there and it may be a bit overwhelming for Shelby. It's only been a month since Julie passed.”
“True.” Sean said. “But don't you think the more the merrier would help to take her mind off of it?”
“She hasn't shown much enthusiasm for Christmas. Even Kaela's excitement hasn't brought her around. She hasn't met a lot of the people that will be there and I'm afraid she'll feel like she doesn't belong.”
