Chapter 2: Demon's wrath

1162 Words
Third POV~ The god smiled simply and turned to puffs of smoke that rouse up and in to the air. Stunned,Alyssa stared numbly at the ceiling before sitting up. " Where did you go? If this is the second test,I'm starting to hate it already." She states with pouting lips. A ghostly chuckle echoed softly in the dimly lit room. Groaning she began to stand up, when black plumes of ash and soot blew in to her face. Coughing she waved her hand madly in front of her face to get the smoky stench away from her. Hazy yellow eyes stare at her with hunger from within the smoky plumes as it breathed out once more, grimacing she backed away slowly before stopping at the realisation that she only has two options. One: Face the beast and have a small chance of survival. Or two, go back in to the waters and have none as she knew she won't be able to survive a second encounter with the dreadful firey waters.  "Am I supposed to fight this.... whatever it is?" She asks with twitching brows and narrowed eyes. ' You are supposed to survive as long as you can, I am the god of time....so what in here has a timeline?' The God's voice says with a little spite. Alyssa flinched and raised her hands waving them roughly.  "Yeesh! I just asked no need to be so hateful, I'm sure I would have figured it out eventually, but thanks." Alyssa says hurriedly. The god huffed in annoyance and a snapping sound reverberated throughout the room. The demon launched itself from the shadows it hid in, it's maw and dagger like teeth wide open.  "Oh, poodle." Gasps Alyssa, eyeing the demon that was shrouded in mystery. It had incredible speed, it's fur was a scathing red that could mean that it had an affinity with fire, it had three sharp horns painted scarlet and black at the tips and Alyssa was pretty damn sure that it would rip her to pieces the instant her body came in contact to them. Throwing her body to the left at the last moment she rolled and spun on the ground before sitting upright with her legs crossed and her eyes wide and alert. The creature had missed her but just barely. It had not fallen in to the water like she had hoped it would but had stopped at the last second. Furious it roared and stomped down creating craters in the floor. It's eyes located Alyssa who had rised up from the ground and frantically looked around. Something that had a timeline. But everything has a timeline. The beast ran swiftly towards her once again, it's head bowed and it's horns ripping through the plated ground. Yelping out in shock she backed away quickly and efficiently ran up against the wall opposite from the one the beast is charging at. Wait! Timeline, yes, everything has a timeline but nothing here can end so easily. The beast!  "The Demon!" Alyssa shouts as it charged towards her. ' Mhmm, not quite. Please solve this before you die.'  The god replies nonchalantly. A shudder crept down Alyssa's spine as she watched as the thing came closer.until her eyes widen in horror.  "I'm so stupid! It's me! I have a timeline because I'm human and more vulnerable than this demon of anything else in this room and that also includes the watch you're wearing!" Alyssa shouts and covered her face hoping against hope that her answer was right, though she knew she was smart she also knew that she forgets things more often then not and can easily forget more things when she is put under pressure. A loud bang made her flinch but opened her eyes slowly to find that the creature was slowly turning to specks of light and fading away. The god appeared with a happy expression on his face, clapping his hands he grinned slyly at Alyssa. ' Good job, human. But may I know how you knew about the watch on me? No one has ever noticed it,oh wait, no one has ever been tested consider yourself lucky.' Zin states arrogantly and smugly. Alyssa's knees gave way as she fell to the ground breathing a heavy sigh of relief out. "It was a guess, you say that you are the god of time, which means you must wear a watch or you are one yourself, God Zin." She groans as she ran a hand over her hair. The god c****d his head to the side his eyes alight with amusement and curiosity. ' I see,is that why you had covered yourself after shouting out your answer, afraid that you may have been wrong?' What a truly interesting being you are, Alyssa. Now here's a little gift, it contains my very essence. Which will now be bonded to your soul. If you were to pass the next test after leaving this place then you will receive the other half. I look forward to being your partner, sweet Girl.' The god says as a necklace formed around Alyssa's neck with a watch as a pendant. Moaning Alyssa got up slowly. "Zin? Where is the exit?" She asks. A pathway lit up much like the cave she was previously in. "Thanks." She grumbled and limped towards the pathway that lead to an open door. She had found that her leg was slightly bruised due to her fall earlier which had made walking a lot like swimming in the firey waters. Pushing against the wall that collapsed open at her weight brought normal light in to her blurry eyes. She blinked at the sight before her. ' What's this?'  ''This my dear is a showdown against Cleopatra's sand dogs and the Guardians, much like yourself. Well, the only problem with this is that neither of these so called guardians have been chosen yet, but are prophecized to be the guardians. You can trust them. But not that Kaymöre guy.' Answers Zin. 'You did not mention anything to do with Cleopatra!' Alyssa mentally scolds Zin. 'Of course not, you never asked what I have to do with anything.' Zin replies. 'Well duh! I'm more focused on the fact that there's a second test out here and the fact that I wanna survive! Now tell me why Cleopatra's minions are doing this?' Alyssa asks aggressively. ''Fine, fine, you don't need to be angry about it. Cleopatra is an evil b*itch who wants to enslave the universe and all its inhabitants. I'll go in to more detail when we are less busy, deal?'  Offers the swindling god. Groaning again Alyssa shook her head. 'Fine.' She blinked and turned towards the five people protectively standing in front of where the hieroglyphics use to be and where she now stands. One had white hair, the other pitch black, a girl had ash blonde hair and the other girl had brown hair while the last man looked like Ricardo.
