Chapter 5 – The Return of William Greene

Aiden’s POV

I sit at my desk and think why has Madison been so quiet. It has been a whole week since everything happened, and it is like she disappeared into thin air. Sarah contacted the nurse that helped us after she was released from police custody but she was no help. All she could tell us was that Madison’s family was pushing for charges but they had no evidence. I have never met my wife’s so called family I thought she was an orphan or at least came from a low-income home. After marriage she never talked about them or visited them. I did catch her one night talking to someone I swear she called her brother but she never mentioned anything else about family. Now that I think of it she is pathetic. There is no way her little small family can fight against my family with our money. If she know what is best for her, she will not cause any trouble.

My dad is going to be back today and we all agreed that we would not tell him what happened. I know he knows the news said she was kidnapped but they found her. He was really relieved. He makes me wander why he is so supportive of a marriage with a nobody but he can’t stand Sarah. She has been pushing me to marry her because of the baby. I had no reason to not marry her so we went to the courthouse and got married Friday. My dad is going to be unhappy but I really don’t care. I am going over these recent accounting records and something does not seem right. I think someone is stealing money from the company. I call Joshua my guy in the finance department for a meeting. He is always on time so he comes in right at 10 sharp.

Joshua the numbers are not adding up on the quarterly reports. I see that we are missing a sum of money. By my calculations it is around a hundred thousand dollars. I never authorize anybody to make such a large transfer.” I say. He sits there for a moment and pull up his laptop and show me the transactions and sure enough there has been small withdrawals that have now added up. But what don’t make any sense is it shows that I personally made the transfers and I know that I did not authorize this s**t. I look at Joshua and he look nervous. Something is going on it is time for me to find out what the hell it is. “Joshua I want you to get with Gary in the IT department and start a investigation. Once it is complete bring all the evidence you found to me,” I say. He nods and get up and leave my office.

Sarah immediately comes in after Joshua leaves. “Babe! What was Joshua doing in here. Did you have a meeting I didn’t know about.” She ask. I just ignored her and change the topic because she better pray it is not her that is stealing from me because I will strangle this b***h. Now that I think about it she is the only other person that has all my login credentials. I will wait until the investigation is over before I accuse anybody. “Listen dad comes back today so I am going to have lunch with him and Dylan if you could order lunch for us. She nods and turn to walk out of the office. I stare at her back as she leaves.

Around noon my father and brother Dylan walk in with Sarah following behind them with our lunch. She sits everything down and walks out and leave us alone. She knows that my father hates her with a passion. He thinks she is after our money, but he does not understand that if it weren’t for her, we would not have had this opportunity. I was brought out of my thoughts by my dad asking how Madison is after experiencing such a traumatic event. I look at my brother and he stares at me. I know it is now or never so I just rip the bandage off and explain to my dad what happened and about the divorce and how I married Sarah because she was having my baby. He spits out his food and immediately starts grabbing his chest. He looks as pale as a ghost. I start yelling for someone to call the ambulance. Me and Dylan are standing over him and all he could say was you i***t we are all dead. Dylan and I are confused about what dad just said but we don’t have time to understand because the paramedics come rushing in to take my dad to the hospital. We call our mom and sister and they meet us to the hospital.

We have to wait for about a hour and they tell us that my dad needs rest he had a mild heart attack. We all stare off in disbelief. “What happen son weren’t you having lunch with him.” My mother says. But before I can answer her my dad mistress come sashaying in. We all ignore her and I answer my mom question. “He asked how the preparations were going for the Gala Friday night and if we had the proposal ready. After discussing business he ask how Madison was doing after everything she went through. I told him the truth about everything that happened between us including how she lost the baby. Then I told him I divorced her and married Sarah. He turned white as a ghost and mumbled something about we were all going to die.” I say.

We hear a loud scream from the mistress and everyone turns around to look at her. “Oh my god! You idiots don’t you know who the hell her family is, you i***t you actually have no clue why your daddy kept encouraging you to treat your wife right. You just ruined your fathers plans as well as the company. They are going to sink us in a whole so deep no one will find us. You idiot.” She screams. She turned around and walked out of the hospital. “What the hell was that, she flipped out Lydia said. “That is the same way dad responded to the news about what had happened. You don’t think that dad know something he never shared with you Aiden. If he was hiding something that would make sense why he always pushed for you to stay with Madison.” Dylan says. He has a point, but what secret could Madison have kept from me all these years. “ They are exaggerating this b***h has no power if she did , she would have done something by now. Your dad never liked me and now he is using this against us, baby don’t pay them any attention we did the right thing. She should be grateful that we saved her life.” Sarah says. She is right we all agree but before anyone could say something we hear a voice coming from behind us. “I should be grateful that you saved my life. Really you are a despicable person Aiden Greene along with your family and your slut.” Madison says. She is standing there dressed in expensive clothing and two bodyguards. We all stand there in shock until after she walks away.
