Chapter 12 – Understanding My Feelings

1261 Words
Madison’s POV I was not expecting to get into this right now but it is on the table so I must deal with it. My dad slowly walks in the room followed by Uncle Henry. He embraced me in a tight hug and for once in a long time I accepted the warmth of my father arms. He held me while I cried until I was content. My dad guided me to the sofa and sat there waiting for me to talk. Looking at the four men staring at me I knew it was now or never. “Dad, I know that you want to try and shield me from the things that are happening, but you cannot, especially when the problems in the family are caused by me. To be honest I feel the only thing that can make me whole now is to get revenge. Aiden and his family have taken so much from me and the payback want be the same unless it comes from my hand's dad.” I say. I look around the room and after my emotional breakdown a few minutes ago I can see the doubt in their eyes. Even Jayden is looking doubtful, and he is always the one standing by me. I give them a minute to process what I said before I speak again. “Dad, I know what you just heard the conversation between me and Christian, but I promise I can do this.” I say “Madison, I know you have always been taught to stand up for yourself but not at such a high-cost baby girl. It is not only about your mental health but also about your safety. Maverick is a twisted son of b***h, and he feels like you wronged his slut of a daughter. He is going to be guarded now because he knows I am unpredictable. I think he feels he has the upper hand because he thinks he is only dealing with Christian and Jayden and not me and Henry. He is going to believe that he has the upper hand because they are younger, so he will feel he is smarter, but he will underestimate them and make a mistake and that is what we want. But if you put yourself in such a vulnerable position he is coming for you first before even thinking about Christian. Just like your brother said in his twisted mind you did wrong by messing with his daughter.” Dad says. I think about everything they have said and then I agree that last night was a close call, but I refuse to hide because they have an ax to grind. I take a deep breath so that my voice would not crack when I started talking. “I understand who we are dealing with more now than ever. He just tried to take me and Jayden out. To be honest dad he might not know that I am your daughter, but he knows exactly who Jayden is and he did not hesitate to attack a car we were riding in. That alone is disrespectful dad. He has already brought it to our door so it’s only fair that we shut them down Anderson and Adams style.” I say. I look at the group of men and they have this amusing look on their faces. They know how animated I can be especially since I have been young. They don’t call me the princesses of the family for nothing. I can see my dad wavering and now I know it is my time to strike while the iron is hot. “Dad you know I did my own digging and Maverick and his slut of a daughter set me up. They planned all of this because he is not a good businessman and his business is failing. He has been relying on his smuggling lately to stay afloat, the people that are willing to work with him are doing it out of fear or blackmail. Yesterday I found out it runs deeper than that, I still have a few loyal friends in my ex-husband company. They are outraged about how Aiden treated me. Well, I always wandered why Mr. William always treated me better than the rest of the family. The old lady that has been his secretary since he started the company is like family to him. I called her just for a casual conversation to get information. What she told me shocked me the most. Dad this lady knows you she says that she is related to us on your mothers side. Her name is Connie Ramirez, and she said that she is related to grandma. She told me that William always knew exactly who I was, because she told him.” I say. I can see dad is angry because all his family knows he has never released who his kids were when they were in school. I knew this would get their attention. I took this as an opportunity to add fuel to the fire. “Remember I called you back in university and ask if I could travel with my friends to a summer party that the Greene’s were having for the children. When she saw me at the party she was standing next to Mr. Williams mistress, and at that moment she made a innocent comment that she was surprised that my daddy let me mingle. She thought it was out of your character. Then his mistress asked what she meant, and she explained who I was, and that set there sites on me when she realized her mistake she begged them not to tell anybody who I was because you wouldn’t be kind to those that hurt your daughter. Then I remembered when Aiden first tried to talk to me he mentioned his dad thought I was the perfect person for him. His dad was the only reason he talked to me in the first place. I was stupid enough to fall in love with him when William was using me to revive his company.” I say. I look up to see the angry look on my dad's face. He could not hide his displeasure about the situation. “Do you see now why I owe this family a lot of payback. I was used from the very beginning and I guess William kept it a secret from everyone else because he knew if there was even a little bit of doubt why me and Aiden were together he would have to deal with you. It makes sense why he always gave Aiden advice and encouraging him to make things work between us, it was all for his own benefit. That family is the lowest of all and then you add Maverick to the equation and it’s a mess. I guess that’s the reason for William’s heart attack when his son told him about the divorce.” I say Everyone is so deep in thought right now it is truly comical. I mean they cannot be so upset with William because truth be told my family is guilty of doing the same thing which is how me and Jayden ended up married to the wrong people. All these marriages for benefit. I hope this a wake call to their ideas being ridiculous and outdated. I must admit I have never seen my father rendered this speechless because it’s been at least two minutes and nobody has said anything yet. I chuckle inwardly. I got them now!
