Mia’s POV
Nicky and I ate way too much Chinese and found ourselves curled up on the couch.
“Alright, time to talk.”
“About what?” I knew what Nicky wanted to talk about but it was still too fresh.
“You will feel better if you talk about it.”
“I don’t know what to say about it. He cheated and I was a fool.”
“You are not a fool. He is an i***t that doesn’t deserve you.”
“It doesn’t make it hurt any less.”
“Oh I know honey….I know.” She said, giving me a hug.
“I love him so much it hurts and I wish I had been enough.”
“Stop it! That issue is him and not you.”
“I know that deep down but….”
“Do you want to work it out with him?”
“No, I could never trust him again.” I said, knowing that a small part of me wanted to forgive him, but the fact was, not only did he break my trust, but my heart was broken into so many pieces I didn’t know if it would ever be put back together.
“Did you let him keep the apartment?”
“Yeah, it just holds too many memories for me. I couldn’t stay there. I think it would have eaten me alive.”
“OK.” She said as she quickly grabbed up her phone and tapped away.
“Who are you messaging?”
“My realtor.”
“Why?”
“You need a realtor.”
That is how I managed to start looking for my own house. I had mentioned buying a house Chris had always said at some point we would look at, but it never happened. Now it’s probably a good thing we didn’t buy a house together.

Miah’s POV
It had been two weeks since my divorce. I managed to find a house that was perfect. I fell in love the moment I walked through the front door. The owner accepted my offer and now it was on to the paper work.
This was my first full week back at work and to say I was stressed out, didn’t cover it. Elijah has been running the company since my father passed away. As I finished college, he was a mentor and agreed to stay by my side as long as I needed him. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if there would be a time when I didn’t need him.
Last weekend, the girls had planned to take me to the club but due to one of Nicky’s jobs having an issue, we had to wait till this weekend. I was nervous and excited all at the same time.
I was to meet the girls at Nicky’s house in less than an hour to start getting ready. Elijah had already left for the weekend and I was just finishing up a few last-minute things before heading out for the weekend.
The car ride to Nicky’s went by too fast and before I was able to knock on the door it was ripped open by Reannah.
“It’s about time.” She said, rushing me into the house.
“Sorry. I had to finish a few things at work.”
She rolled her eyes before flashing me her perfect smile. “Come on we need to eat and then we need to get ready to head downtown.”
Entering the kitchen, I found Nicky and Karie already sitting at the table with the take-out laid out and ready for us to eat.
“You need to have a full stomach before we drink the night away.” Karie said before taking a huge bit of the pasta she served up on her plate.
“I don’t drink.”
It was a simple enough statement but all 3 of my friends stopped and looked at me like I had 3 heads.
“What?” Nicky asked.
“I don’t like drinking.”
“Maybe you haven’t had the right kind of drink?” Nicky asked.
“No, I have all kinds….I just don’t like the way it makes me feel. But I don’t need to drink to have fun.”
“Suit yourself. I will just have to drink for the both of us.” Nicky said, giggling.
After dinner, we headed to Nick’s room to get ready. I had brought a tight pair of black jeans and a red crop top paired with a pair of matching red heals.
“Dang girl! How often do you work out?” Reannah asked, staring at me.
“5 days a week.”
“I need your dedication. For real.”
“Hey, are you still keeping check-ups on yourself?” Nicky asked, looking at me with a worried expression.
I couldn’t help but smile seeing that she still cared. “Still cancer free. I have my yearly check-up in a month.”
My closest friends knew about my mom and grandma both having ovarian cancer and it was a little scary.
“Good cause we just got you back and I need you to stay healthy. Now let’s finish getting ready.” Nicky said, jumping up to her feet.
Reannah had chosen a short black mini dress that fell off her shoulders. Reannah was the tallest of us at 5’9 and in heels she towered over me. Nicky had on a white camisole with a red skirt that highlighted her complexion perfectly.
Out of the 3 of us, Karie was dressed the most conservative out of the three of us. She decided on a dress that fit tightly on her waist but flared and landed just above her knees. The top was tight and exposed her shoulders.
“Alright Bitches! Let’s make it happen!” Nicky said as we exited the house and piled into the car.
