Chapter 12Sam and I sat in the Wharton County Sheriff's Office for over an hour while April Montague and Detective Gilkrist spoke with my brother. Sam wouldn't tell me anything else until he could visit with Gabriel. The sheriff left the interrogation room at one point to get Gabriel a cup of water. She popped into the main lobby where we nervously waited. “He knows you're both here. We're almost done questioning him, but he'd like to speak with Sam first.” “Are you arresting him?” I asked.
