Seth shivered, his eyes blaring.
The wave of impulsion through his body made him quickly throw the panties underneath his desk.
His godmother giggled.
“Look at him. Acting like a teenager.”
“Good evening, Ma,” he finally spoke, adjusting his collar.
“Cut the crap, Seth.” She smiled, descending into one of the study couches. “I was beginning to think you weren't interested in Khardi.
Oh no.
I was so scared.
What would happen to our family's reputation?”
Seth shot a glance at her through the corner of his eyes.
“Really?
That's all you care about?”
“What else?
Anyway.
I saw you sniffing Khardi's panties
Why starve yourself? Rotting here in this hell of a study when you could just go into the warm arms of your fiancée?”
Seth rubbed the back of his head.
“Yeah.
You're right.”
He picked up the panties and left the study. He wasn't ready to have another argument with his godmother, at least not now that she thinks the panties are Khardi'.
He took a warm shower and went to bed.
By the time Khardi walked in from the pool, Seth was already fast asleep.
Seeing it as a lifetime opportunity to finally have s*x with him, she climbed on his body and began rocking her hips on him.
“I guess I'm doing what that lady from the movie did.”
She placed her hands on his chest, her waist still in motion.
“Yes. She had her hands here. This should be right.”
A moan escaped Seth's lips.
Khardi's face lifted.
She was getting it right!
“I've so waited for this day”
She lifted his pyjamas, kissing his chest and belly area while Seth stirred in his sleep.
“Wake up, sweetheart. It's going to be a long… night.” She laughed.
“Don't stop,” Seth muttered, half awake.
She leaned toward his ear and whispered.
“I have no intentions to.”
She sniffed his beard, her waist still rocking.
“Don't stop, Elen.”
“What?” Khardi paused.
Her scream snapped Seth out of his dreams.
“What were you doing?” He pushed her off him.
“Are you kidding me?
I thought we were about to have a nice time. Little did I know that you were dreaming of that maid!”
“What maid are you talking about?”
“You were dreaming of Scarface!” She sobbed.
“You've never wanted to touch me, but I got an opportunity today and you dare address me as a maid!
Address me?
You were dreaming of her, Seth.” She dashed at him. “How dare you?”
“Get your hands off me!” He pulled her off him.
“You know what? I'm done!” She yelled, drying her eyes with the back of her hands.
“You're overreacting, Khardi,” Seth said softly.
“Am I?”
She grabbed her car keys.
“Start thinking of a way to face my Dad's wrath.”
“Khardi!”
“Don't even come close.”
She headed for the door but Seth's godmother had already gotten in.
“What's going on here?
Khardi, I heard you screaming so I had to run in. Why is your face such a mess?”
“It's Seth!
He was dreaming of another woman.” She cried as Seth's godmother pulled her into a hug.
Seth made for the door.
“Seth!”
“I'm sorry, Ma. I'm not in the mood for this drama,”
“So you're just gonna leave your fiancée here?”
“I just need to read something to clear my head,” he replied and walked out of the room, shutting the door against his godmother.
He strolled to the study.
With his fingers, he ran through his bookshelf but something seemed off…
“Where could that book be?”
Carefully, he went through the books one after the other but the book wasn't there.
“Who could have taken that book?”
He shut his eyes as realisation hit him.
“Elen” he muttered.
He stormed out of the study, murmuring under his breath.
“God help you Elen that you're the one with that book, tonight would be the end of whatever you're up to”.
He knocked on her door, “Elen”.
No response.
He waited a couple of minutes and tried again but still got no response.
“Go in and get your book, Seth.
If your godmother or fiancé finds you here…
You sure don't want more drama”
He got in and there she was, lying on her belly, earphones plugged in and her eyes glued to his book.
His head banged.
“Are you kidding me?”
She didn't flinch.
He got closer and snatched the book from her.
“What are you really up to, Elen?”
She pulled out the earphones, her soft gaze meeting his hostile stare.
“I'm sorry,” she spoke softly. “I should have asked for it before taking it.”
He took a deep breath
All the anger… stress… frustration…
They all seemed to vanish the moment she began to speak.
He turned to leave but she spoke again.
“You don't look fine, sir,” she said as she sat up on the bed. “Are you alright? Do you need coffee?”
“You know what?
Why don't we read together?
I mean…
You love my kind of books and heaven knows how long I've been waiting to find someone I can share my thoughts with.”
“Of course, Sir…
Have a seat.”
“Thank you.”
“Before we begin…
Can you at least hand it over,” she pointed to the book. “I'm really at a very interesting point, please…”
He couldn't help himself anymore… he smiled.
“Spoiler alert!”
“Please don't,” she shut her eyes tightly.
He laughed.
“What point are you at?”
“I don't trust you… Just hand me the book, Sir.”
“I guess I might just leave with my book,”
“You really want to do that?”
Her voice was gentle and steady.
Their eyes met as she leaned closer to his face.
Looking into her eyes, he traced his hands across her lips and whispered,
“What have you done to me, Elen?”
For a brief, dangerous moment, the world outside that small room disappeared.
Suddenly…
