Chapter 31

1165 Words
Friends gathered in Odell's kitchen, laughing and joking around, the tension between Massy and Odell seemed be mellow due to everyone else being in the room. Odell was cordial with Massy. That was it. She tried many times to engage in conversation like they use to, joking around, bringing up memories but it was no use. He had shut her down. Odell wore his emotions on his sleeve, letting her know from the beginning he liked her and wanted something more than a friendship with her. He was open and showed her every emotion. Massy, however tucked her emotions up her sleeve making sure not one of them fell out. "Hey baby!" A familiar face a voice said to Odell as she stood on her tippy toes to kiss his lips. Massy frowned as the same women she had seen so many times at Odell's house rolling her eyes and giving her dirty looks pressed her lips against his. When Massy told Odell to find a girl that could be under him 24/7, that's exactly what he did. Liz was a very pretty girl, but that's all she had going for her, she used her looks to get places and considering they got her under Odell Beckham Jr. If you asked her, she'd tell you she was doing pretty well for herself. Odell leaned his head down and kissed her. She turned to Massy smiling at her. "Hi, Ace? Right?" She said trying to sound innocent as possible. "It's Massy." She said correcting her, Ace was a name that Odell gave her and to Massy Odell would be the only one calling her that. The girl laughed, waving Massy off. "Right Massy, congratulations on all the..... Stuff you're doing." She said as she stood next to Odell putting her arm behind his back and leaning into him. "Yeeaaa, all the STUFF I'm doing. Thanks." Massy said sounding a bit annoyed. Odell knew what Liz was doing and he wasn't fond of it, he pulled from Liz, pushing her off of him and walking around to the other side of the counter and leaned against it. Liz was a girl that Odell more so kept around for s****l purposes, he'd promise her a relationship here and there but then eventually get turned off by her clinginess and need to constantly show off. "He's been frustrated, you know with everything going on." She said saving face. "I bet." Massy said back not believing her excuse. Brad and Jarvis looked everywhere in the kitchen but at the elephant that sat on the counter. The color of paint on the wall seemed to have Brad extremely intrigued as he squinted his eyes at it, and the ceiling seemed to have something interesting on it as Jarvis looked up. Massy continued staring at Liz almost as if she was sizing her up, Massy's temper began to get short as Liz stood there twirling her hair and popping the blue gum in her mouth. Throughout the night it was hard seeing Liz throw herself all over Odell, it was clear that she didn't normally act like this, but because Massy was there Odell seemed to be the center of her attention. Playing in his hair, rubbing his beard, her legs thrown across his lap. Odell's frustration seemed to be at an all time high as he tried to play the video with Jarvis, Brad managed to leave by using Bentley as an excuse, even though everyone knew he was spending time with his mother. Jarvis and Jordan seemed to be engulfed with the game they completely forgot anything or anybody was in the room. To say Massy was uncomfortable would be an understatement. She had reached a limit and she knew she was either going to cuss Odell out or drag Liz across the floor. "Iigh, Ima get out of here." Massy said standing up. Jarvis shot Massy a somber look, he could completely understand why Massy would want to leave. The whole night was fine, friends hanging out, Odell being as cordial as he could be considering his feelings for Massy, everything went well until Liz showed up. "See ya." Odell said nodding his head at her, then turned back to the video game, slightly pushing Liz off of him every so often when she would get to close. "I'm sorry Ace." Jarvis said pulling Massy into a hug, and whispering in her ear. Massy forced a smile. "It's fine." She said pressing her cheek to his. "I'll check on ya lata iigh." He said pointing at her. Odell rolled his eyes. Massy nodded as she walked behind the couch, smacking Jordan in the back of his head, letting him know she was leaving. Jordan grabbed his head looking up at her then nodding. "GET! Off me!!!! I can't stand that cuddling shit." Odell said as soon as Massy walked out the house, he lifted his arm from being intertwined with Liz's "You too close! Chill." He barked out in frustration. Jarvis shot Odell a evil look. "Man, you know that was f****d up, why you acting that way towards Massy, actin like you don't care about her!?" Liz began smiling assuming that Jarvis was defending her, she immediately frowned when she heard him say Massy. "Excuse me! Hello! I'm the one he's being rude too!" She said looking at Jarvis. Jarvis and Odell shot Liz an annoyed look. "Liz, go home." Odell simply said out of frustration. When Odell had a mean streak, that's exactly what it was. He could admit he was being a bit childish by having Liz there. He could be extremely cold, but he could also be extremely loving, but when it came to being extremely loving he was very picky on who that was. Liz happened to not be that person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Massy sat on her kitchen counter, her sister sitting in one of the stools off to the side of her. "He was completely different, completely shut me out. He said thanks for defending him, but after that, it was like a straight poker face." Mari frowned feeling bad for Massy. "I'm sorry Mas, maybe things work this way because you're not really meant for that person." Mari said shrugging her shoulders. Massy had seen a completely different side of Odell. If they were playing Texas Hold'em Odell would of won off his poker face alone, Massy had done exactly what she wanted to do, push Odell away, but Massy didn't expect him to really put distance between them. She tried working out to release stress, thinking that would get her mind off of Odell only to be unsuccessful. Massy broke down halfway through her workout. She honestly didn't know what she wanted, but now that Odell seemed to not be interested anymore, she seemed to want him even more. All that time she  spent trying to keep herself from not liking him, time spent pushing him away only back fired on her.
