Sage

The door opened and a small woman stood in front of Adalinda, she was even shorter than her. The woman was barely in her early twenties.her skin was pale, her eyes were big and their shape resembled of the eyes of a deer. They twinkled with curiosity in the neon lights of the hospital suite. Her eyes were steel blue, her hair reached only to her shoulders and had a slight sage color among the dark brown. Her face was heart shaped, but the most interesting thing about her were her horns. Her horns looked exactly like a ram's, and it had a purplish color, next to each horn there were a fluffy white ram ear. Tase waited and crossed his fingers that Ada's usual childishness won't cross a line.

- Alpha what happened? Are you injured?! - she asked and even her voice was cute, but determined.

- Don't worry Sage, I'm fine, but I brought a patient. She is Adalinda. - Sage looked at Ada with her jaws almost dropped. Tase smiled at the reaction that he expected from Ada and sighed with relief when Ada extended her hand.

- Hi! As Tase said, I'm Adalinda, but you can call me Lin or Linlin if you want! You are Sage right? - Sage nodded still amazed by the fairy like creature. She cleared her throat and swiped her palms in her jeans before she shook Ada's hand.

- Nice to meet you!

- Sage for the love of the Goddess! Let the poor girl in! - Camille shouted while she tried to gave the medicine to a pup whose mother gave up on all hope already. Sage stood away from the door and let them in, preparing a chair for Ada.

- So what happened? Where are you hurt? - she asked and Adalinda with a sweet smile said.

- I just stumbled and fall, when I fell, I hit my shoulder a bit and it was bleeding.

- May I? - Sage asked and reached for Adalinda's arm. She nodded and hissed as Sage pulled the bloody t-shirt away from the wound. The blood already dried and the fabric stock to the wound. Tase growled when he heard Ada hiss and Camille shouted at him.

-Instead of growling there, you could give me a hand! - Tase looked at the struggling lady and then at Ada.

- I would hurry to help her, before she gets mad! - Ada whispered and Tase chuckled before he left Ada to the care of Sage. She cleaned the wound and sighed.

- I might have to stitch it... - Adalinda looked into Sage's eyes and she shivered.

- I think it can heal alone pretty quickly without stitches. Can you just bandage it? - Ada asked and Sage nodded. Once she was ready, Ada walked to Tase and Camille. Sage was about to follow her when the door opened and a thin tall man walked in. His clothes were all dirty with mud and there was a bleeding wound on his forehead. When Sage saw him she squeaked and scolded him immediately with her hands on her waist.

- Hugo! What the hell happened to you again?!

- Language! - Camille screamed to her daughter who forgot for a moment that there was a young pup in the room.

- Sorry about that! Hugo sit down and I don't want to hear a word! - Sage said and poor Hugo looked at her mesmerized and said.

- But... You just asked what happened with me. Don't you want to know? - Sage rolled her eyes and went for more stuff to tend Hugo's wound. Until then, Hugo didn't even notice the Alpha and his companion in the room. His hazel eyes met with Ada's and he looked pensive. When he noticed Tase he bowed his head slightly.

- Alpha.

- Hello Hugo! After Sage took care of you we need to talk.

-Understood Alpha. - Ada waved to Hugo and walked to Tase. The mother was holding down her little son while Camille tried to gave him the medicine. Even Tase tried to order the kid to take it, using his Alpha tone, but nothing worked. When the kid noticed Adalinda between two screams his eyes widened and he pointed at Ada.

-Mom! Cotton candy! - he said and the mother blushed with a bit of embarrassment.

- No Lio, that's not cotton candy. The nice lady's hair is that color. - little Lio looked totally confused by this new information and Ada leaned closer to him.

- Hi Lio! I'm Linlin! Do you want to touch my cotton candy? - she asked cooing and the kid nodded with excitement. He reached for Adalinda's hair and she stopped his hand.

- No no! First you have to take the medicine! This will be your reward. Okay? - he looked at the green medicine on the spoon in Camille's hand and than at Ada's coral colored hair.

- Okay! - he said and turned to Camille. He opened his mouth and shut his eyes closed. The medicine smelled really bad and Adalinda felt sorry for the kid. She let her scent cover the bitter smell of the medicine and Lio swallowed ot quickly.

- Done! - he said and turned to Ada reaching for her hair. His mother told him.

- Lio! That's not nice. You can't touch people like this!

- Don't worry! I'm okay with it, we agreed! - Ada said and Lio touched her hair gently getting amazed by the colors of it. After a few minutes he got bored and the mother thanked the three of them for the help. When they left Lio waved over her shoulder and Ada waved back. Camille looked at her with a mischievous smile and asked.

- Linlin, don't you want to work here with us? - Tase looked at Camille as if he saw a ghost. He pulled Adalinda next to him and said.

- That's not a good idea Camille.

- Why not? She a natural talent with kids!

- Camille...

- Okay! Okay! Fine... You want her all for yourself, I understand. - Tase blushed and released Ada. They walked back to Sage and Hugo. Sage was scolding Hugo for always getting injured and for being clumsy, but he just watched her with adoration. Camille shook her head and whispered to Tase.

- My daughter is really talented and strong... But sometimes I swear, I think she is blind or simply and i***t who hides this fact incredibly well! - Tase laughed at Camille's complaints and her laughter brought the attention of the other two at them.

- I'm better than ever Alpha, what can I help you with? - Hugo asked after he stood up. He was almost taller than Timon. Ada looked up at him and waved carefully.

-Hi! - she said and Tase smiled.

- Hugo, this is Adalinda. Ada, Hugo is our head accountant. - Hugo fixed his rounded glasses and bowed a bit. Adalinda only then noticed that he had light brown curly hair and nice soft features. Nothing like a werewolf whose males were usually strong, muscular and board, Hugo was slim, tall and seemed fragile.

- Really nice to meet you Adalinda!

- Nice to meet you too! - Tase pat Hugo's shoulder.

- Let's go out to talk. - he turned back and said to Sage.

- Sage, could you please take care of Ada for a while? - Sage nodded and the two ladies started to chat immediately. Tase looked back at them and smiled. As expected, she'll be a great guard for Ada when I'm not around.

"- Are you sure about that? - Titan asked.

- Hundred percent. Sage is a really powerful witch, just like Camille, and also really quick witted and smart. Ada won't get bored around her.

" - Yeah, but many people are not fond of her due to her appearance. Won't that bring more trouble to Ada? - Titan asked.

- She also needs a friend to rely on and I'm confident that Ada, Izzy and Sage will get along really well!
