Chapter Eleven: Birthday

One o'clock in the afternoon when Serapina and Shiela, Gabriel's mother, was still talking seriously. Since they didn't want to know what they are talking about, Serapina and Shiela decided to talk in the office in the house of Hudson. So that, Serapina can relax since she's sure that no one gonna hears what are they talking about.

"Serapina, I call you here because I want some favor from you," Shiela said to Serapina.

Serapina smiles at Shiela before answering her. "What is it, auntie?" Serapina asks Sheila while creasing her eyebrows.

Shiela took a deep breath before answering Serapina. "Can you help with my son's birthday?"

"Sure, auntie! When is his birthday?" Serapina asks while the sweet smile is plastered on her lips.

Shiela scratches her hair before telling Serapina about his son's birthday. "Tomorrow is Gabriel's birthday. The truth is, I want to have him a grand celebration to his birthday, but my son didn't want it."

Serapina got silent for a moment because of what she heard. Aside from that, Serapina can't explain why she is excited about Gabriel's birthday. "What if, you just celebrate it with your family?"

"I tried to tell him that but he refused also. What if you join us for celebration I'm sure Gabriel was gonna agree."

 "Are you sure, auntie? What if he didn't want me to join to celebrate his birthday?"

A small laugh coming from Sheila's mouth because she didn't expect that Serapina will be paranoid because of her son, Gabriel. With that, Shiela caressing Serapina smooth hair before answering the lady in front of her. Little did Serapina know Shiela wants her for Gabriel. Since Shiela knows Serapina is a kind-hearted woman and good for her son, Gabriel.

"Don't worry, Serapina, I'm sure he will gonna love it if you join us celebrating his birthday."

Instead of answering her, Serapina chose to smile at Shiela before nodding her head. For that reason, Serapina can't help but feel excited since Gabriel's mother invited her to join them. Minutes have passed when Serapina bid goodbye to Shiela since there's something she needs to do.

"Auntie, I need to go now," Serapina said to Shiela with respect.

"Sure! Don't forget tomorrow evening at seven o'clock Gabriel's going to pick you up at your house."

"Yes, auntie," Serapina said while smiling at Shiela.

After bidding goodbye, Shiela accompanies Serapina until they are outside the house. Before riding her car, Serapina kissed Shiela on her cheeks like it's her way of saying goodbye to a person. While Serapina is on her way to their house, all her thoughts are flooded with Gabriel's birthday. Since Serapina can't think about what should she gave to Gabriel on his birthday she decided to give him a cake. An hour has passed when Serapina arrived in their home with a smile on her face.

Since Serapina is happy she can't help it so she spread her golden wings while looking at her body mirror in her room. The truth is, she wants to fly to the sky together with Gabriel but Serapina knows that it won't happen since she's scared that Gabriel will be afraid of her. Aside from that, she will also afraid that someone will go to know her deepest secret. That's why Serapina chose to hide her deepest secret until she took her revenge for the person who betrayed her. Just like the usual, Serapina started her secret training since she wants a strong and healthy body. So that, she's determined to train to protect her loved ones who are important to her. When she's finished her training Serapina saw that it's already six o'clock in the evening. Before eating her dinner she rests first then take shower since she felt sticky because of her sweat. After her dinner, she practices making a cake for Gabriel and when Serapina is satisfied with her baking she decided to get some sleep since she's already tired. After a minute, Serapina found herself lying in her bed while her smile is still plastered on her lips.

"I'm excited for tomorrow! I hope Gabriel gonna loves my simple gift to him," Serapina said to herself.

Little by little, Serapina found herself closing her eyes slowly until darkness engulfs her. Time has passed when darkness engulfs with light then Serapina heard the sound of her alarm clock. So that, Serapina get up on her bed and fixed herself before eating her breakfast.

On the other side, Gabriel still sleeping in his room when someone disturbed his peaceful sleep. Then, he felt that someone entering his room so that, he opened his eyes immediately.

"What?" Gabriel said in a hoarse voice.

"Come on, son, wake up! It's your birthday today!" Shiela said to his son.

"Come on, mommy, it's too early to get up. Besides I'm still sleepy," Gabriel said in his sleepy voice.

"Early? Come on, son! It's already nine o'clock in the morning. Besides your friends are waiting for you downstairs."

Instead of answering her mother, Gabriel gets up in his bed while his eyes are still half-closed. Then, he decided to take shower before seeing his friends while his mother chose to leave his room. But, Gabriel was confused since he notices that her mother is grinning ear to ear. It feels like she's hiding something so Gabriel can't help but feel confused about her mother's expression. After a minute, Gabriel decided to look for his friends and he was shocked when he saw them.

"What are you doing guys?" Gabriel asks his friend while creasing his eyebrows.

"We're blowing some balloons," Billy answered Gabriel while a grin is plastered on his lips.

"I know what you're doing. You all blowing balloons, for what?"

"Of course, for your birthday!" Stacey answered while smiling at Gabriel.

"What the! Do I look a kid to you all?" Gabriel asks with a wide eye.

They just laugh instead of answering him so that Gabriel chose to keep silent since he felt that he is together with the children even though he's not. But, Gabriel can't deny the fact that he was happy since his friends didn't forget his birthday. Aside from that, he's hoping that someone he longing for will going to greet him on his birthday but Gabriel knew that it was impossible.

"Hey, why are you silent?" Derick asks Gabriel while look confused.

"Nothing."

All of a sudden, they were shocked because of the laugh of his cousin, Stacey. So that, Gabriel can't help but chose to ask his cousin the reason why she is laughing.

"Is there something funny, Stacey?"

Stacey laughs again before answering Gabriel, her cousin. "I know the reason why Gabriel is silent," Stacey said while the grin is plastered on her lips.

"Really? You know the reason?" Billy asks Stacey with a wide eye.

Stacey just nods at Billy before looking at Gabriel again. "You're being silent because you're hoping that Serapina will greet you on your birthday!" Stacey said while grinning widely in front of Gabriel.

All of a sudden, Gabriel blushes because of what he heard from his cousin. Gabriel was going to answer his cousin when his mother showed up while the grin is plastered on her lips. For that reason, Gabriel can't help himself but feel confused again because he doesn't know what is happening in his surrounding.

"What are you wearing, son?" Shiela asks her son, Gabriel.

"T-shirt and pants?"

Shiela took a deep breath before answering his son, again. "I mean is we're having dinner in the restaurant."

"Then?"

"Come on, son. Just wear presentable clothes, not like that," Shiela said while pointing to her son's clothes. "Just change your clothes. After that, pick her up in their house," Shiela said to her son, again.

"Wait, mommy. I can't understand you. Who's the person you're talking about?" Gabriel asks his mother while confusion is written on his face.

Shiela smiles a little before answering Gabriel who is now confused because of what's happening to his surrounding. "Just pick, Serapina in her home."

In a blink of an eye, Gabriel blushes because of what he heard. Aside from that, his ear is bright red also since he can't contain his happiness. "Is she going with us?"

"Yes. So, what are you waiting for? Change your clothes and go to her house."

In a flash of light, Gabriel goes to his room fastly while a sweet smile is written on his lips. After he changes his clothes, Gabriel goes to Serapina's house to pick her up for his family dinner for his birthday celebration. When Gabriel saw Serapina he felt like that his world will suddenly stop because of Serapina who was walking in his direction.

"Good evening and happy birthday, Gabriel. Here's my gift for you," Serapina said while smiling at Gabriel.

"T-Thank you. I didn't expect this," Gabriel said while stuttering.

Serapina just laughs softly while looking at the reddened face of the man in front of her, Gabriel. "Well, it's a surprise!

“I hope you will like my gifts to you."

"Can I open it?"

"Sure!"

Gabriel didn't waste time because he opened the gifts of Serapina for him. Gabriel was shocked because of what he saw since he didn't expect that inside the box there's a cake. And the top of it, there's a word written on it causing him to feel happy. He was shocked again when Serapina gave him another box but unlike the first box, it's too small causing him to get confused.

"What's this? Is this for me also?"

"Yes, so open it."

A small smile plastered on his lips when he saw what is inside the box. Gabriel was very happy since Serapina gave him a bracelet. With that, Gabriel wears the bracelet in his left hand like it was a treasure for him.

"Thank you, Serapina."

"You're always welcome, Gabriel."

Then, they decided to go to the restaurant while a sweet smile is still written on Gabriel's lips. Little did he know, Serapina was the one who was happy because she didn't expect that Gabriel was happy with her gifts to him. It feels like all her hard work was paid off since Gabriel was happy with her simple gifts to him. In a blink of an eye, her negative thoughts were gone because Serapina saw how happy Gabriel is.

"I can't contain my happiness because of him. I hope this will not end of my happiness," Serapina said to herself.
