Chapter 16

When we reached my room, Kat pushed me into the bathroom and told me to have a shower while she got my outfit ready. I washed my hair, body and shaved my legs and under my arms. After rinsing the soap off me I turned the water off and wrapped a towel around myself before drying my hair a little with another towel. I walked out of the bathroom and into my closet. I dried my body and put on a set of black lace underwear and a strapless bra. “So What am I wearing to this meeting?” I ask as I sit down on my bed. “Seeing as it’s a professional meeting, I picked out this dress.” Kat smiles as she shows me a skin-tight black strapless dress. It’s a gorgeous dress. It has a v neck that will show my cleavage. A low cut back that stops near my waist, with straps forming x’s over my exposed back. “Maybe I shouldn’t wear a bra with this dress,” I say smiling as I admire the dress. “You shouldn’t need to. There is an underwire bra sewn in.” Kat smiles as she shows me the built-in bra. “Cool.” “Let’s get you into the dress.” She smiles. I nod and we walk into my closet. I take off my bra as Kat unzips the dress and holds it steady for me. I step into the dress and Kat zips it up for me. I look in the mirror and smile at my reflection. But it doesn’t smile back. “Um, what is going on?” Kat says shocked and confused. “It’s a thing. Like with the water this morning. My reflection always shows my inner turmoil instead of what emotion is shown. I don’t understand it either.” I say as I turn around. “Where did you get this dress? It fits perfectly. Too perfect to be store-bought.” I ask quietly. “I had a few dresses made for you. Hope is a witch and also a world-class designer. I asked her to make you some dresses. She uses her magic on some of her personal requests, to make them more special.” She smiles as I sit down at my vanity table. Kat blow dried my hair and straightened it. She gave me a Smokey eye look and put on some clear lip gloss. “Shoes,” Kat says to herself as I stand up. “I know.” She says walking into my closet as I sit down on my bed. “Here we go,” Kat says as she puts a pair of heels in front of me. “Thanks,” I say with a smile as I put them on. She had picked out a pair of 6-inch black stilettos. “Oh! You look beautiful.” Kat says happily. I laugh at her and smile. “Thanks. All credit goes to you though. You chose it all.” I smile at her. “Thank you, sweetie. Ok, you get your purse ready and I’m gonna go and change.” She smiles before leaving. I pick up my black clutch purse and put my credit card, I.D and phone inside. Opening mums jewellery box, I pick out a sapphire necklace and matching ring, both spelled. I put the ring on before clipping on the necklace. I picked up my purse and walked downstairs. As I walked into the front lobby, Andrew and Brent were waiting. “You look beautiful, Clem,” Andrew says smiling. “Thank you.” I smile. “Ok. Let’s get going.” Kat says brightly as she walks to stand beside me. “Alright, let’s get going,” Brent says as Andrew opens the door. We walk outside to a waiting limo. As Andrew opens a door and helps Kat in, Brent does the same for me. I smile at him and climb in. As soon as we were all in, the driver took off.   We arrived at a restaurant and walked inside. As soon as I walked in, I could feel the hunger from almost everyone. I think this is a vampire restaurant. “It’s ok, sweetie. No one will touch you here.” Kat whispers in my ear. “I’m not worried. I was just confused as to why I can feel their hunger.” I whisper as the hostess leads us to a private room. When we all sat down, Kat and Andrew had me sit between them. The waitress began taking our orders and I only started listening when she got to Kat. “And What can I get you, Mrs Mateo?” She asked respectfully. “I will have, the chicken carbonara and a glass of AB negative please,” Kat replies. “Of course. And for you, Miss...?” She began, looking at me. “Phoenix. I’ll have the spicy bacon carbonara and just a glass of ice water please.” I say with a smile. “Sure.” She smiles tightly as she swallows. “And for you, Mr Mateo?” “Medium well-done steak and a glass of O negative,” Andrew replies. “Of course. I will be back in about 15 minutes with your meals. Excuse me.” The waitress says before leaving. “Shall we start this meeting, Brent?” A man in an elegant black suit asked. “Sure. Clementine Phoenix, George Black, Tali Forbes, Hannah Lupus.” Brent says introducing us all one by one. “Hello,” I say sweetly. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet the girl behind the voice.” The woman, Hannah says with a happy grin. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” I smile back. For the next 10 minutes, while we waited for our meals, we all got to know each other. George is a music producer and a vampire. Hannah is a choreographer, stylist, and does some security work for noble vampire families like the Mateo’s since she is a vampire as well. Tali is the lyricist that Brent had told me about. She’s a super nice girl, 18 years old, and a witch. “So Clementine, you’re a siphon witch?” Tali asked curiously. “Yes.” I smile. “Could you show me your power glow?” She asks with hopeful eyes. “My What?” I ask confused. “You don’t know much about being a witch do you?” She asks sadly. “No. Neither of my parents were witches. I later found out that in my family it skips a few generations.” I tell her. “Wow! Those kinds of families don’t exist anymore. If I show you how to project your power glow, will you show us?” Tali asks with a giddy tone. “Sure.” I chuckle. “Ok,” Tali says as she stands up. She closes her eyes and breathes deeply. Her skin begins to glow and her hair turns white. “Wow,” I whisper in surprise as a smile grows on my face. “Ok. Stand up for me.” She smiles as her glow fades. I stand up with her and she takes my hands. “Now, focus on the power you feel. The power inside of you. Contrary to popular belief, siphons do have their own magic, it is simply inaccessible to them for reasons unknown these days. Now close your eyes and feel your power grow inside of you, feel it shine through your every pour.” Tali tells me in a warm tone as she lets my hands go. I stand there with my eyes closed as I focus on the power inside of me, just like she had said. “Woah!” Everyone shouts. I hear chairs moving quickly and a few quiet groans. “Look at her hair!” Tali says excitedly. I open my eyes and the entire room is lit up brighter than Christmas. I look at my hands to see them glowing brightly. “Woah,” I whisper as I feel my hair growing. “Uh, why is my hair growing?” I ask a little scared. “It happens to every witch who does this, the first time. Although, I have never seen someone with so much power. And seeing as this is your first time, I’m not surprised your hair grew so much. You are even more powerful than my mother. And she’s the leader of my coven.” Tali says smiling. “Ok, wow. Uh, how do I make it go away?” I ask nervously. “Oh! Just push your power down. Imagine the glow disappearing.” I close my eyes and do as she said. When I open my eyes again the glow is gone but a new woman is standing in the doorway with a shocked expression. “Mama, I thought you were meeting cousin Laura?” Tali questions as she hugs the woman. “I did. She just left. I saw the light from under the door and wondered what was going on. Who is this young woman?” Tali’s mother asked as she walked closer to me. “Clementine Phoenix,” I reply with a small smile. “You are very powerful, Miss Phoenix. Where are you from?” She asks. “England.” “Whereabouts?” She asks curiously. “Coventry.” I smile. “Oh! What is your mother's name?” “My mum's name was, Alina,” I say sadly. “I apologise. I knew her.” She says with a sad smile. “What?” I whisper in shock.
