Beep! Beep! Beep! Ugh! Stupid alarm! Just give me two more minutes of sleep. Turning around I stretched my arms out to grab my phone hitting the snooze button. Lazily, I opened my eyes and checked my phone there were three missed calls from Noah.
I had an hour to get ready for school. Ugh, I hate school it's worst than my nightmares. The house is really quiet, putting on my bedroom slipper, I opened my door and was met with an empty hallway— tiptoed to my sisters' rooms only to find that they hadn't come back home. I did a little happy dance before skipping back to my room.
Hmm... what to wear today?
Looking through my closet, I decided to wear an all black outfit. Being satisfied with my outfit choice, I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. I skipped a few stairs happily and made some pancakes and drank a hot cup of coffee. The day could've never started better than this.
Nothing good ever lasts long though as I knew the misery was soon to begin. I had no option but to take the bus and I was secretly hoping Desmond would pass by.
Plugging in my earphone I played some music while looking at the missed calls that I haven't returned from Noah not because I didn't want to but because I was scared... Scared of rejection.
The bus was now in sight as my phone began to ring, Desmond was calling me. My hands suddenly felt like jelly and the school bus was near. I have to make a choice quick; unconsciously I found myself answering the phone.
"Hello," I said shakily, unsure of what else to say.
"Uh–Hey, you home?" He blurted.
"Um– yeah, I'm actually about to go on the bus, why–"he interrupted. "I'm on my way to pick you up, we need to talk," he said before I could finish my statement.
"Okay," I replied. The phone hanged up abruptly before I could ask further questions. The bus was slowing down at my destination. The students on the bus stared at me rather weirdly, some eyes looked as if they were judging me.
"Aren't ya comin' in piggy?" The bus driver asked.
Laughing nervously, I shook my head and told him to go along. Something didn't feel right—the feeling of nausea washed my body as cold sweat formed. Speaking of which, what did Dessy want to talk to me about? Crap Dessy?! Seriously, ugh, stupid brain! I am so nervous, that I nibbled away at my fingernails. I know it is a bad idea to wait on him but at the same time I couldn't move my feet, it was, as if, a heavyweight held me in place— trapping me from moving.
A few minutes after, his car pulled up.
Turning down his window he quickly said, "Get in Avery." I flinched at his harsh tone still not moving from where I was.
"Avery, please." He tried once more in a much softer tone. Nodding I walked around the other side and went inside his car. My palms were sweaty and I could feel my body getting sweaty and panicking.
"Jeez, relax and stop acting like I'm gonna kill you or somethin', put on your seatbelt Missy," he said flatly.
Doing as I was told my hands quickly fidgeted with the seatbelt until I successfully put it on.
"Now take a breath in and out," he proceeded.
I looked at him in shock; "Uh—you've been holding your breath," he stated.
He laughed but I had no sense of humor whatsoever— his advice actually worked.
He drove us both to school in complete silence and in the end, he didn't even tell me what he wanted to talk about. How annoying!
I spotted Noah talking to a guy which was Jace if I remembered his name correctly. Isn't he one of the student council student? Honestly, I don't see the difference between a student council and a normal student. Their job is to be the voice of students. What students exactly? Oh, wait, the rich ones! Note my sarcasm. He probably joined because he wanted the extra privilege. Curiosity sure kills the cat.
I continued to walk inside the school building... Just as I was about to head to my locker. A hand yanked my shoulder ever so aggressively causing me to yelp in pain, the person slapped their hands over my lips and I could feel their body flushed up against my skin.
"Stop moving or else...," my mind went utterly blank and my body froze.
The voice belongs to no other person other than...
