Avery was now in my arms as I gently rocked her back and forth; whispering soothing words in her ear whilst Desmond grabbed his car key from his mate and helped me pick Avery up and rushed to his car. Desmond looked at me angrily, "Why the f**k would you carry her to a place like this, huh?"
Opening his car door he placed her in the back. "Noah, I'll drive, stay in the back with her and make sure she's breathing— God knows if she had any spiked drinks," he said.
He helped me open the car door as I gently placed her inside letting her head rest on my lap.Desmond quickly pulled out of the driveway speeding down the lane to the nearest hospital.
I whispered to Avery, "You're going to be okay, stay with me, princess."
Desmond looked through the mirror with a painful expression before saying, "Hey man, she will be okay, we're here."
I looked up as Desmond rushed to my aid to get Avery and me out of the car. I lift her bridal style and rushed with her into the hospital.
"There's an emergency, someone please help us," Desmond yelled.
The nurse at the front desk's eyes opens wide seeing the poor girl getting pale in my arms. Doctors and nurses rushed to us, taking her out of my arm and immediately checking her heartbeat and other things as they pushed her to the emergency room.
We were trying to follow them but the nurse gently said to us, "I'm sorry you two, but you will have to wait outside until someone comes to inform you."
Desmond looked like he was ready to beat the life out of the woman. Holding his shoulder tightly, "It's best to calm down for Avery's sake let's just wait."
We sat down waiting until we got feedback about Avery. Guilt, betrayal— those two feelings took over my body. Why did I leave her alone for so long? I promised her that she was safe and that no harm would come to her and I failed miserably. She's so young and naive, everyone thinks she's weird and no one listens to her and I wasn't much different from them. f**k, why'd I always mess up? I promise I would be by her side and I broke that promise. I didn't deserve to be anywhere near her. I got up and left despite Desmond telling me to come back.

The smell of chemicals and antiseptic filled my nostrils; a beeping sound that comes from a blood pressure machine.I slowly opened my eyes to take in my surroundings which were white, a little too bright for my eyes. My throat was parched as if I was coming out of a dessert. Hospital? How am I in a hospital? Then last night's events started to resurface in my head. I remember Noah hurting some guy... Noah?
Panicking I looked around the room, a body figure caught my attention at the far end of the room.
"If you're looking for your little boyfriend, I'm afraid he ain't around," Desmond said flatly.
Seriously, what was his problem?
Rolling my eyes, which was a terrible mistake cause a sharp pain was in my headache as if I was been electrocuted.
"Don't worry, it's just a hangover you'll be fine," he said as a matter of fact.
He walked over to my bedside looking at me rather intently before proceeding, "After all no one told you to drink so much."
His eyes scanned my body as I notice the hospital gown I was in, some of the old scars were showing and I quickly dragged the hospital gown over them.
"I'll go get the nurse, I'll be back." He said.
"Okay," I replied while relaxing.
What was I gonna do with these two troublemakers? I knew no one would have visited me, was kind of surprised that Desmond was here when I woke up. At least I wasn't alone this time. Didn't take long for him and the nurse to return, "How are you feeling Miss Baker?" the nurse questioned.
Sitting up in the bed, she examined my eyes and checked my temperature.
"Other from the headache plus sore throat I'm fine," I managed to say.
"Next time don't drink so much, you are now discharged good thing they were concerned." She stated.
It took me a little time to realize she meant Noah and Desmond I swear sometimes I was too slow at picking things up. The nurse left us with a pharmacy prescription with pain tablets as prescribed. Desmond lifted me bridal style and took me to his car
I wonder what Noah was doing right now?
Why didn't he stay? Deep down I knew it may have something to do with me as to why he hasn't come. Desmond helped me inside his car and buckled my seatbelt, I could smell his cologne that slightly burnt my nose.
"I'm stopping at a cafe and get you something warm to drink and then grab your medicine," he said.
"Okay," I replied.
We sat in complete silence as we arrived at the cafe he gave me clear instructions not to leave the car. Checking my phone, the battery was running low, there was a message from my parents checking up on me. Messages from Winter and none from Summer asking where I was. Wow, it's now they care huh? I bet they would be so delighted to see me on the news that I had disappeared. I was losing it, tears ran down my cheeks as I cried clutching my stomach in pain. I can't help it everything was just a mess and doesn't feel real.
"Ave? Avery? Avery?!," Desmond's voice echoed.
It hurt. Everywhere hurts. A panic attack consumed my body like a raging fire ready to bring chaos and destruction leaving everything in utter doom.
"It hurts. Make it stop. Please," I repeatedly desperately.
I was drowning and there is no one to save me. Desmond wrapped his arms around my shoulder pulling me into his shirt, patting my head, and whispering soothing words in my ear.
"I'm here now, you'll be fine. You're gonna be just alright Ave. So stop crying and wasting precious tears," as he rubbed my back.
After a few minutes of crying, I finally calmed down.
"You okay now?" He asked with a worried expression.
"Um, yeah I'm okay now," I replied.
Realizing that his shirt was wet from my tears I immediately apologized and he shrugged it off saying it was nothing. We ate and he picked up the pain pills and dropped me home.
I took a hot shower and put on a small silk dress. I missed school today but that was okay, the one time won't kill me. No one was home and I was feeling sleepy and soon after I fell asleep into Dreamland.
