Avery ღ I quickly got out his car and briskly walked into the front door of the school. The little encounter earlier had confirm the rumors about Desmond. Even though he was the notorious bad boy, he was also a monster...Not a literal monster but like a different persona. I didn't dare turn back to see if Desmond was behind me or not as I plan to spend the rest of my school life drama free. At this point, I just wanted to get away from everything— it was too much to handle. A loud thud could be heard as the force sent me falling onto my bum. Ouch! Seriously I fell yesterday now today, c'mon universe! I was about to apologize when I looked up, it was a new face. The boy looked at me with worried eyes— he stretched his hands towards me, but the person I am ignored it. I got up and dust myself off, "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going!" "It's okay." He hand the timetable to me, "Do you know where the Physics class is?" He was obviously a new student cause I pretty much knew the faces of my school mates even if we don't talk to each other. I nodded, "I have that class now, follow me I'll show you." I quickly walked so it wasn't obvious that such a hot guy was talking to a big nobody— I lead him to the class before taking a seat at the front waiting for the torture to begin but what I didn't expect was for the guy to sit next to me. Well that's to be expected figuring I helped him out. "Oh I haven't told you my name, I'm Noah and you are?" He questioned. "I'm nobody, nice to meet you as well," I replied. Mr. McCarthy our Physics teacher came in— He was a short man that dressed as if he was in the early nineties, with greasy hair and a huge tummy, his teaching skill were impeccable too. "Good morning class, today we will be going through the module exam that you did last semester, your work is to find the answer on your own quietly," Mr. McCarthy spoke. "—Ah, I see we have a new student, please introduce yourself to the class." "Good morning, I'm Noah Denver— from Seattle High School," he greeted. He smiled widely as I notice his dimples that made him adorable. Wait? Adorable— "How was my introduction?" He asked. "It was alright, could've said more but whatever," I replied. "Who's that hot guy?" "Why is he sitting beside that fatty?" "His eyes are so dreamy." "She's a slut, first the other guy now this new one." The students began to murmur, the comments this time was much worst than the last, I mentally tried to block them out but was having a hard time. I kept my head down as I blinked away the tear drops. I tried calming myself but I was ceasing to function properly as a panic attack was slowly surfacing. One...two...three. I got up from my desk and stormed outside— the sounds were all too muffled and confusing. I ran through the back door leading to the rooftop, my entire body was numb and the tears kept falling even more. I sat on the cold concrete as I rocked back and forth. The door banged as the footsteps got closer, looking up it was Noah— he sat down with me and held my hand in his. "Hey I don't know you but breathe in and breath out...you're safe, no one is gonna hurt you," Noah whispered. I followed his instructions, Four...Five...Six...Seven, "That's right continue to breathe just like that and don't listen to their negative comments, okay?" He stated. "You don't believe them, right?" I asked subconsciously. "No I don't, and whatever you do I know you have a reason for it— we all do things so cheer up..." He trailed off. "It's Avery," my voice cracked. "Right, so cheer up Avery— let's stay here until the session is finished." ღ Classes were now over. Noah and I barely exchange words but it was more than enough. "It's lunch time, let's go," I stated. He stretch his hands towards mine as he helped me from the ground— my legs were a bit cramped from sitting so long so I wobbled a bit. The lunch cafeteria was now full, Desmond was there already laughing with his friends. "The lunch line is over here, let's go," I directed Noah. All eyes were on us but I ignored them and so did Noah. "Remember what I told you earlier, believe in yourself and don't let their words affect you," he whispered. Summer walked in our direction as she stared me up and down like a piece of trash can and then ignore my existence. "Hey handsome, do you wanna join our friends group and stop hanging out with losers." My heart began to thud, he was gonna make fun of me now— tell me that it was all a prank and that he doesn't care, right? "No thanks I rather hang out with someone that has a personality than a fake wannabe," Noah replied. The cafeteria went quiet as Summer gasped, "b***h, you made him feel sorry for you didn't you? Did you tell him you're an orphan without parents or you're a cheapskate," Summer yelled. Phone clicks as people were taking pictures of the drama unfolding. "Enough fake Barbie doll, read the room— no one asked for your opinion here!" Noah conclude. I grabbed his hand hoping he'll get the memo to stop, it would only make the situation much worst than it was. We grabbed our lunch and head out to eat. "I swear if I were a girl I would've hit her already," Noah said sudden and I laughed. I freaking laughed so loudly that it even surprised him, "I mean look at her, she's caked in tons of makeup as if she's a pastry shop making donuts." My stomach was beginning to hurt as I was out of breath from laughing so hard. "That's enough, I'm dying Noah," I cackled. We settle down a few minutes and eat our lunch— the cafeteria food wasn't all that but with someone to talk and eat with made things a lot better.
