It was the soul of swords.
This same technique that even ancestor Shang had eyes. Back then, he had merely displayed only half potential of the technique due to having only a broken part of it…
Now, he could actually make up for the other half by using the sword intent formed from the essence, absorbed by his inner world.
The creature growled, this time lower and then in a terrifying burst of power, it lunged forward, an earth-shaking force causing the sky to tremble.
“Infinity.”
Yao shouted, his soul of sword inscription spinning in the air, his eyes turning into a golden hue, making the soul of swords transform into liquid pools—only for it to separate itself into hundreds of sword qi.
The creature had tremendous strength so if Yao wanted to overwhelm it, he needed to use infinity.
Separating a strand of essence from something, leaving the other strand intact to keep the other part still functioning…
Infinity is a process. For example, a walnut can multiply infinitely if a part of the walnut’s seed essence is taken out of the original without causing it to collapse.
If the original collapses, then infinity cannot be born so Yao gradually learnt the infinity, just so that he would be able to turn his spirit energy into a sea and now, he was applying the same method to the soul of sword, just to multiply it.
A golden ripple appeared behind Yao as the soul of sword bombarded the monstrosity, causing the ground to shake from the impact.
This creature immediately moved, its eyes turning from grey to blue and then, time distorted as it appeared before Yao in an instant.
Yao's expression changed as he tried to dodge a blow that seemed as if time was blurring.
Even with the effort he made, this creature still landed a blow. A sharp pain shot up through Yao's spine as he was sent flying from the blow.
The shock didn't disappear from his face as he stared at the monster whose visage glitches like it was hiding it in some kind of time-warping dome of some sort…
These time-related abilities made it possible for this creature to manipulate time, distance and space.
Yao stood up immediately, that spear from earlier manifesting through Yao's intent.
He recreated six essences from the spear, making it a total of seven spears and then, he launched it forward.
The creature did not move… and knowing that this particular attack could cripple it, the once blue eyes suddenly turned into a green hue. This green light in its eyes was accompanied by a crackle of lightning.
A green barrier was erected off from the ground and when these spears slammed on it, there was a deafening thunderclap that shook heaven and earth…the ground rupturing and opening a deep crater.
The barrier however did not have a single scratch on it… in fact, the barrier not cracking from the impact isn't the greatest shock, the greatest shock is, this creature’s ability to transform its strength just by using the colour of its eyes.
First it was grey, then it changed to blue. Now it is green. And for each change, there's a significant increase in strength.
A chill crawled up his spine.
How many more colors could its eyes transform? Two more? Three more?
Just one more transformation and this creature would surpass even a peak Origin realm cultivator. Currently, the green eyes can be considered on par with a peak Spirit realm cultivator and he cannot compare to a spirit realm cultivator, not yet.
This is where the problem lies.
Yao stared at the creature whose frame was engulfed in a green dome…probably time related. It easily manipulated Yao's distance, making it impossible for him to retreat.
The creature immediately rammed into Yao like a siege engine, the ground rippling, like something homologous was trying to crawl out from underneath it.
Yao spat out blood as he applied pressure on his arm, preventing the force from destroying his meridians. He survived, yet his internal organs were rattled badly.
The spirit sword immediately manifested behind him, with thousands of sword qi waiting out for his command to launch itself on the approaching creature. Yao unleashed his inner world and a torrential spirit energy flooded out, like a dam had crashed.
Skilfully controlling his spirit energy, he managed its flow as several techniques started to conform through the means of the rotating third eye.
The third eye was acting on impulse, conjuring strange techniques for Yao to use.
Then Yao infuses it with his own spirit energy, making the technique his and then…with a cold expression on his face.
Several arrows launched at the creature, followed by something known as the heaven and earth lock.
It was the worldly lock that locks down heaven and earth.
A golden ripple pinned the sky in place and started to press down with terrifying force and– the creature whose eyes were green suddenly turned red, purple and finally indigo.
The sky immediately shattered when it swiped its claws on the firmament.
The heaven and earth lock froze only to break apart.
Yao's eyes widened in horror because that was three eye transformations at the same time.
