103 Justice is Served
It was the morning of the public trials. Abe and Raymond were served their breakfasts and then brought up to the prisoner’s holding cell in the new court setting. The magistrate, the prosecutor, and defense counsel were all at the castle well ahead of the scheduled start of 9:00 o’clock. Citizens had started lining up shortly after sunup to ensure they were able to get one of the seats in the public gallery; this was going to be a historic day … those who had oppressed them were going to have to be made accountable for their crimes. Elizabeth had risen early as well. She had a lot on her mind. Her primary goal was to rule the kingdom as her father had done … with the interests and well-being of her subjects close to her heart.
